My wife and I visit our son in Rio Rancho every few months. We often go to Jason's since the one in our city, Las Cruces was closed and I usually have their salad bar but on our visit in September I ordered Zucchini Garden Pasta and my wife the salad bar. The food is always consistently good. On our visit the frozen yogurt machine was out of order and had a pathetic sign. One of the things that bothers me from all their locations is that they don't have dessert spoons so to eat the frozen yogurt is with a soup spoon. read more

Went to Jason's for lunch on a Saturday. Had the original Reuben. The sandwich was very good, plenty of corned beef and very filling. Comes with chips although I would rather have fries. Could have come with a pickle spear but not a deal breaker. Main thing is that the sandwich was good and the price was reasonable considering the size of the sandwich. Thinking about trying the club sandwich next time. Wife said that the salad bar was adequate. You can get the canned soup in a bowl or a cup. The sandwiches are probably your best bet. An update. It's been many years since I last reviewed and I feel like it's improved. I've become a big fan of their BLT, on sourdough, add avocado and I switch out mustard for the mayo. It's always fresh, toasty and good. My husband has tried a variety of menu items lately and he keeps asking to go back. I really love their strawberry shortcake but at 940 calories I skip it almost always! If you're not worried about calories it's super Yummy! Great staple, good choices. Including a salad bar. Ordered a beefeater (witch i have had from the paseo store in the past and loved) the bread was hard as a rock so i took it back up and the manager i believe her name was Katrina was the rudest person ive had to deal with in a long time. I went to this so called restaurant a couple of days ago and it is truly the worst place I have ever gone to eat at. I came in just to get lunch to walk in to see the worker "Jane" vaping out in the open, made the environment uncomfortable and unprofessional. Born in Brooklyn, raised in Long Island my bar for corned beef and pastrami sandwiches is pretty high. 5 stars goes to the likes of Katz's, 2nd Avenue and Carnegie delis in NYC. Getting a Jones for one of those sandwiches here in Albuquerque has you stymied. A friend mentioned giving Jason's a try so I did. Ordering on line was easy and pick up was as well due to Covid restrictions. My wife ordered the pastrami on wheat 1/2lb of meat with a side of salt and vinegar chips. I had to go for the Yankee 3/4 lb of pastrami and corned beef with a slice of Swiss cheese and salt and vinegar chips as well. Both sandwiches come with individually wrapped pickles spears. I really like to here. We got a pesto turkey melt to share and it was delicious! We also got the salad bar. Everything was fresh and the salad bar was everything I love! It had a great selection of veggies, good selection of dressings, yummy breads! Tasty Corn bread and a ginger type bread that wasn't too sweet. It was all good! This salad bar made my heart happy because it reminded me of soup plantation RIP soup-plantation! For those of you that don't know it's a salad , pasta, and bread buffet based in California didn't survive Covid but was always one of my favorite places. So it was nice to find something similar to the one I love out here! They also have a self serve ice cream machine and cone which is also a very nice finish to salad bar cause it's all about balance! Anyways I love this place and anytime anyone asked me where I want to eat! It will probably be Jason's Deli from now on! The only thing is the tables weren't bussed very well and there was a lot of dirty tables that where empty but my family and I were able to find one clean one in the back. First time here, the place is not bad at all. Plenty of room to sit down nice ambience, good music. I ordered the Reuben sandwich which should been called a sauerkraut sandwich. The corn beef is not bad, but it was cut along the grain instead of against it and there wasn't that much of it on the sandwich. The Reuben sandwich is grilled perfectly, but it was stuffed with way too much sauerkraut. Could not even taste the Russian or thousand island dressing. The plate that it came on was too small for the sandwich with potato chips on top of the sandwich. Everything overflowed onto the table. Overall I would come back again and be more specific of what I wanted. The layout for ordering is not the best but the people are very nice and very helpful. There seems to be a few stations along the L-shaped serving counter, but you can't really tell what it is because the ordering area is right at the beginning. Being this is the first time here I didn't know what was being offered down the line. A list of deli items that are available along with the breads would be helpful so you could create your own deli sandwich. read more

Took my mom to lunch today (5/11/25) for Mother's Day. It was kind of busy when we got there, but most people already were eating. We ordered, sat down, waited, waited and waited. We had to go up to the counter twice to ask about our order. After 1 HOUR, we finally got our food. All the people who came in and ordered after us had already gotten AND eaten their food and left. On top of having to wait so long, when we did finally get our food, IT WAS COLD. We approached the manager, Michael about our whole experience and he was very rude and dismissive. Using the excuse of it being a busy day and having a lot of customers. Which I do understand and sympathize with, to a certain point. It does not excuse the fact that bigger groups of people who arrived and ordered after us got their food and finished eating in the time that we were still waiting. And it doesn't excuse our food (a panini and penne w/ meatballs) being cold when we got it. Then being dismissed by the rude manager as if we were the problem and the inconvenience was very upsetting. We just wanted a good lunch at the place of my moms choosing. This is a Covid-19 update. I was rather skeptical myself when my boyfriend took me here, recalling that we liked the salad bar. However, he did order the salad bar and I ordered a "plain Jane" potato. I feel safer here knowing that not anyone goes up to the salad bar. They have someone pick your salad for you, based on a list of what they have. The presentation is great. My boyfriend and I liked the baked potato as well. However, I noticed that most of the "good stuff"- the cheese, sour cream, and chives, were in the center of the potato but the outside edges of the potato were plain and dry with no flavor. There was plenty of potato to go around and I did not finish it. It was a great value for the price. I have not tried it yet, but they offer free soft-serve with their meals. read more

I really like this place. But when I come here I come to only eat the salad buffet. I don't want sandwiches, soups or anything else. I love being able to have LOTS of veggies. I always start my plate with spinach, which I love. Then put on lots of peppers, cucumber, celery, a boiled egg or two, some sunflower seeds and top it off with a good vinaigrette and EVOO. Ate at this restaurant yesterday and I could NOT believe the prices this restaurant thinks it should be charging. $30 for 2 sandwiches and a coke. At this price, the sandwiches should also come with a small salad. The taste of the Ruben the Great fell short of the Great. We ordered three trays of turkey sliders for an evening party, I picked them up about mid afternoon on the day of the party. Problem 1: I had ordered 3 dozen sliders but the person on the phone made it 3 trays of sliders with 24 sliders in each tray--far more than we needed or asked for. Cost was about $175.00. Problem 2:But the worst thing was, when we served them that evening, the sliders were soggy on the bottom. By the time we realized what had occurred it was too late to complain that evening. They have SUPER easy curbside pickup and lots of ways to order online. The portions are huge! And we fed three people for a little under $30. The BLT was to die for! Watch out for runny egg yolk! The salads are huge! They could easily feed two people. The baked potato is ginormous! I definitely had to make two meals of it. Here's a tip though, go directly to their website or download their app and order online that way. We recently tried Jason's Deli near the Cottonwood Mall. I haven't been there since before the pandemic. My husband ordered a turkey sandwich and chips and said it was really fresh and good! He enjoyed the free ice cream that comes with any meal there. I ordered a salmon bowl. It was bland and tasteless. The manager, Katrina, realized that I didn't eat the bowl. My whole family (3 kiddos, 4 adults) is just getting over 10 plus days of being Ill with Covid. We are at different stages of what our stomachs can handle, so we went to Jason's because of the variety, not only for the adults, but the kiddos as well. I was so looking forward to my chicken salad sandwich and was so disappointed when that was the one item that didn't make it into our bag. Okay, I'm a fan of Jason's Deli and since we don't have one where we live we always hit one up when we travel. This stop was no exception but it just wasn't the Jason's Deli we know. Where did all the pickles go? My wife and I always order the muffaletta with potato soup but there were no pickles. Maybe I missed something or some cutbacks but it was disappointing. If the pickles were the only problem then I wouldn't even be concerned but it wasn't. The place was dirty and trash was laying on the ground everywhere (see photo of one spot by our table), more than your average amount of tables not cleaned off, etc. Not only that but when we sat in the booth opposite the cooking area on the far wall the bench seat came off. A lady working there saw it and didn't say or do anything. The pickle to top it all off was my muffaletta. The poor thing was missing 1/4 of its insides (see picture). I paid for a full sandwich, not a 3/4 one. It was still tasty, the part that had insides. We still like Jason's Deli but we'll just have to go to a different one next time. I hope this isn't the beginning of a trend for the chain...we do enjoy the food and the soft serve is spot on! read more

This is my first time to an Jason's Deli. It was an ok experience, but I don't think I would go out of the way to go to one. They have a variety of food to choose from so you have more than just sandwiches to eat. I didn't care for the entrance where the registers are. It's too close to the door and you have very little space to go around the other customers at the far register. It gets packed quickly but the service was pretty fast. They bring out your meal to your table so you don't have to worry about having to pick up the food yourself. They have the standard beverage menu, an over priced salad bar, and free ice cream. One high point is that they try to keep the dining area clean and tidy. Would I go back? Only if someone suggests going, but I wasn't very impressed with the food or menu. Granted there was plenty of options to choose from but none were really what my taste buds were craving. read more

You simply cannot leave this place without having your fill. I love the variety, especially for the sandwiches. You can have something very average like a ham and cheese or something unique like the corned beef and pastrami New York Yankee. I love the soups too! Stick with the sandwiches. I've enjoyed their sandwiches for lunches so I decided to break the sandwich bubble and have the pasta with grilled chicken for dinner. I was truly disappointed and couldn't even finish the meal. It was the most untasteful bowl of pasta I ever had. The pasta was bland and tasted like it had been sitting in cold water for hours.
