Ate here with the family at 8:00 on a Friday night in July. The restaurant was mostly empty, our service was prompt, and the food came quickly. The menu is sort of bipolar. There are a number of $12 burgers and sandwiches, and the $8 entrees on the kids menu are pretty standard. But the majority of the menu is much higher priced fare. I can't comment on the pricier items, since we got kids meals, a dinner salad, and a "burned ends" BBQ beef sandwich. The kids meals were very standard burgers, fries, mac and cheese. No problem with them, but I expected more. Perhaps a gourmet burger instead of a thin diner patty (did it come out of the freezer). The steak salad was good, but way overdressed. The burned end sandwich was disappointing: diced up roast (not burned) in an adequate but certainly not memorable BBQ sauce, on the same soft bun as the kids burgers. I was expecting a nice firm roll I suppose. The sauce soles through the floppy bun, and I had to eat it with a fork and knife. Overall, it was a fine meal in a clean restaurant with no major problems. But nothing to rave about. read more

In all honestly this was very good food! We sat on the patio, which I usually don't go for, but we were visiting Bishop and thought we would step out of "usual". The patio was lovely and I was instantly excited about our dining experience, Until...I saw the prices on the menu! I have 2 small children and I really don't like going to a restaurant where they feel that their grilled cheese is so much better than the guys down the street. Their kids meals were $8.00 and up (and they were just run of the mill kids meals). The average meal on the adults menu was about $20 and the portions were on the small side. Walked in to the whiskey. Empty but very relaxing atmosphere. Service was awesome and the waitress was very professional and had a very nice smile. She did her job great. Rikki was her name I hope to see her the next time we are in she did a great job defiantly made the a very great impression. Hired the right person for sure. Delicious food! - very nice staff. Lots of room, but does get really packed on weekends We were there last weekend - on Friday on the way to Reno and Sunday on the way back. Very good hamburgers - also yummy soups. Fun gift shop. And those gorgeous mountains all around. read more

It was an easy decision for me and my girlfriend where to eat dinner and watch the Thursday night NFL game. Tom at Whiskey Creek bar is always great! So are the prime ribs and the beer. We changed it up tonight and tried a chicken dish. Good, but not in the same league. As for the game, we had to twist our necks around again because the screen straight on behind the taps is still like watching a "bad streaming experience". It's been like that for a while now. I just left this place and it is awful. I walked in with three friends that have lived here for 10 years. Our food took 45 minutes and showed up fried by heat lamps. My friend's meal was inedible. When he sent it back they said they would not refund him. Then a customer from across the bar accosted us for being "out of towners". It was offensive, disgusting and absurd. Whiskey Creek is open again!. My wife and I used to stop and eat here every year passing through town on our vacation. The gift shop is still in progress, But the inside decor is absolutely stunning. Our waitress Andrea was a delight. Very attentive, very polite, and very sweet. We both had the classic burger which was cooked to the perfection. My wife was amused by the quality of the napkins and I just enjoyed the entire meal.. We are very happy that this restaurant is reopened. Cant wait to stop in again. read more

Not worth the wait! Walked in to entry of empty shelving and no one at desk. Server sweet but everything took way too long. Same decor and mostly same menu. Portabella mushroom sandwich had only a small sliver of mushroom. read more

Food was decent, service was poor. We had a large party of 8 and had chosen Whiskey Creek to celebrate a mini-family reunion. In this economy, I would think any waiter or waitress would be anxious to deliver great service. However, the service was the worst it even has been at this place. Very unfortunate, since we were visiting with family we hadn't seen in 10 years. The food itself wasn't bad - potstickers were good, salads were good, meatloaf was so-so. Next time we will go to the Japanese restaurant across the street or Jack's. Of course, the Schaat's Bakery in Bishop remains a family favorite! read more

This is a fine place to eat and drink at happy hour -- the half-price entrees are a good deal for the price, and the selection of beers, including Mammoth Brewing, is good. Of course the bar area is the place to eat, it's lively and fun. I've eaten in the dining room and paid full price and left feeling like I'd paid too much for middling food. The selection is about on par with, say, Applebees, but the quality is spotty and the prices are probably higher (can't remember the last time I went to Applebees...). read more

This restaurant has really gone downhill in the past few years. Stopped in for lunch and ordered a soda and the soup &salad lunch. The soup was a smoky clam chowder which was rather flavorless and the balsalmic salad had way too much dressing on it for my taste. My coke also had a piece of tortilla or bread floating in it which the server promptly replaced, It was not taken off of my bill. The decor is boring for such a nice building.Service is OK .Prices are high for the quality of food being served. Not too eager to return anytime soon. I used to realyl like eating there. read more

Very surprised at the number of reviews that say "average American food". Not sure how many quality, consistent restaurants there are where you live (thus maybe this seems average to you), but this is a very decent restaurant by any standard that I can imagine. I've eaten here dozens of times over the years and the food has always been very good. Tasty, quality and good portions. Bacon wrapped meatloaf is excellent and the sides are always good. Hard to believe that one reviewer called the food "sub-par" unless they just happened to hit what must be a very rare "off" night at this restaurant. If I lived close by, I'd be dining here frequently. read more

First of all, their prices have not been updated on their website at the time this review was written. I've eaten here several times before & the food here has always been forgetful. Everything we ordered..chicken pot pie, burnt ends sandwich, and the macaroni & cheese (rotini pasta with an oily white watery sauce & chopped pimentos) is pretty much below par. The last straw for me was when we ordered a side of asparagus for $4.50 & received 5 stalks! The prices are in no way in line with the quality. Their entree salads are priced at around $19.00! There have been a few new places that have opened up here in the last few years & will definitely be giving them a second look!! I would gladly pay $$$ for quality food, but this place is way off. read more

Heard a lot of good reviews before it closed. Thought we try it since it reopen again, so we took a group of out of town guest for lunch. The SERVICE is super slow. Had to wait forever for the waiters to come around for orders, refills, etc. We sat at the bar area and it was dark so I reached to adjust the window blinds for some light and it just fell off the window. The waiter said, "Do we have to kick you out already?" No one came to help put this thing away. NO APOLOGIES, NO SORRY from staff or Manager. Though the food was decent - I will not recommend if you want good service and hungry. There were 5 of us, ordered sandwiches, and took almost 2 hours. read more

I'll be honest, this review is long overdue. Coming from a small town (Bishop), I was sincerely hoping that this establishment could figure it out. In consideration of time, I'll try to be short... The first time we came, they were having an "Invite Only/Soft Opening." Not a problem. Easy for myself and my wife to understand. However, during our first visit, we were greeted by one waitress who took our drink order. After about 15 minutes, we were approached by another waitress who asked for our drink order again. We explained that we had already given our order to another young lady, upon which the new waitress replied, "Well I don't know why she did that. This is my section..." Still cool with us. No worries. Working out the kinks, clearly. Another 15 minutes passed upon which a bus boy approaches our table and asks if we needed water. We explained that we had placed a drink order with 2 separate waitresses and were still waiting, at which he replied, "Oh. I'm not sure who is helping you." That's when we decided to leave. Yes. We literally got up and left. Right hand to God, I have never done this in a restaurant before. This was only experience number ONE! Long story short, after this, we visited TWO times after our first visit! Yes, maybe we are gluttons for punishment, but the bullet point version of those experiences were: 1) Being told we could not order a simple pasta because it was "too early" regardless of the fact that we were appx. 45 mins before the dinner hour. Despite the fact that my wife is pregnant and she has a very limited diet, we were understanding of their policy. Fine. No prob. We'd let that inconvenience slide. 2) I was ordering food to-go for myself and my pregnant wife. I sat at the bar and waited for our food to come. Within 3 mins of ordering a Prime Rib dinner and a Pasta dinner, an employee brought me ONE small container of soup to-go. Sweet! That's good timing! Except I'm waiting for a side salad, prime-rib, and pasta dinner as well! Cut to over 45 mins later... The rest of my food comes. No biggy, but I had to literally ask for a fresh batch of soup to-go considering that the original batch had been sitting there for over 45 mins. Really really sad. Anyways, that was it for us. 3 strikes, you're out. We genuinely wish we had nothing but positive things to say about our local businesses. Trust us, we want NOTHING more than to see our city thrive and provide amazing dining experiences, but this was beyond disappointing. Three chances to get it together, and little to no progress. I understand our dining options are limited here, but that doesn't justify these owners accepting the quality of service that we've been exposed to. I genuinely hope the owners read this review and make an honest decision to turn things around. Whiskey Creek shut down before, and if things keep going the way they do, it won't be long before they experience the same fate. read more

we were in Bishop this past weekend for a fishing trip and decided to go out for a nice dinner on Saturday night. We saw a lot of people going into the resturant and thought that was a good sign that it must be good. We waited about 20 minutes for a table and our waiter was really efficient along with the busboy. However, after ordering, we sat there for over 1 hour waiting for our dinner to come out. There were only 2 of us and we had the tri tip dinner and the pork chop dinner. The food was cold and not worth the price charged. When we chatted with the wait staff they mentioned that there were problems in the kitchen and that they were short staffed and running really behind. We complained to the manager before we left and she said there was nothing she could do because it was a problem in the kitchen and that she would give us $5 off our next visit. We declined since we don't plan on ever go back here. It's just sad that the only semi-nice dining spot in Bishop is so overpriced, understaffed and lacking in sufficient management. We had a better meal at the Smoke BBQ place down the street and only spent 1/3 of the money that Whiskey Creek charged us. Don't waste your money. read more

Sorry to say I will not return to Whiskey Creek. I reserved on Yelp and added a comment for a booth and this was a special occasion. The gal had our reservation but new nothing about my requests. Her comment was I wish they (yelp) would make some notification of a request. (Maybe she should have read the comment! Ok we were seated in a nice booth and the waiter was on the spot. We ordered two drinks, an appetizer , and two meals. The waiter asked us if we wanted bread and the answer was yes . That is the las t time we sat him. Appetizer , drinks and meal were delivered promptly. After that NOTHING. No bread, I wanted another drink but no one showed, no comment about our special evening. The waiter finally appeared and I made a comment about the bread and that We would have ordered another drink if someone had asked. His comment" oh that didn't,t bring any bread, I'm sorry. We were seated in the dining area and one would expect good service. The food was good but I can tell you these folks do not care about return customers. The management is to blame. Whiskey Creek in Bishop. Wow!!! What a great restaurant to have dinner with the family. Considering it was super bowl and we were on our way up to Mammoth from San Diego, my wife and I were looking for a place to have dinner that wasn't full of drunks. Some friends of ours suggested Whiskey Creek. When we got there, we were seated almost immediately. We then were greeted by our server Mya who was very polite and professional. I asked her what she would suggest off of the menu and she said that the ribeye steak was her go to and to make sure to get the dill dinner rolls with a side of ranch. Both my wife and I went with her suggestion. About 15 mins later we were digging into our flavorful meal that did not disappoint! We ordered dessert which was another one of her favorites and if I can remember the name correctly was the brownie monster. Save room for dessert because you would end up bumbed out you did not try this! Everything Mya suggested was how she described it. Delicious!
