We stopped here on our drive from LA to Tahoe and are so glad we did. The owner was so friendly and nice, and clearly took a lot of pride in his menu. We were in the mood for burgers and they were excellent! My Western burger patty was so real and homemade and flavorful. The bbq sauce tastes homemade. The buns were perfect and the fries are a lovely crispy shoestring. We all loved the burgers and my picky daughter was thrilled with her chicken tenders. The place was spotless and clean. First off, Fidel is the man. We had an inkling this spot had some San Diego influence based on the name but when we showed up it was CONFIRMED. Lol. Daygo baby!! I immediately felt like I was at home. Me and my boyfriend are stopping here every time we go to Mammoth - it's a must. The hospitality was top notch. It felt like an oasis in a desert. The best part about Indiego Tasting House was its awesome staff. The two guys we interacted with were super friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the food just fell short of me. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and found the place almost empty. The interior had was San Diego-themed, with sports memorabilia as decor and a large TV screen. We ordered some chips Tortilla Chips, Guacamole, and Salsa for the table to start with. We were a party of 6, and the size of the Guacamole was honestly comical. I think we were each able to get a single scoop. The salsa was decent, but the Tortilla Chips were extremely salty. They had a long list of specials, and I ordered the Shrimp Ceviche from that list. Amazing surf-and-turf burrito from this local gem! What makes it stand out is that instead of stuffing it full of fillers like rice and bean, most of the burrito is protein and cabbage, making it feel like a healthier burrito without compromising any of the flavors. I even like the flour tortilla that came with it and I normally hate flour tortillas. Their chips and salsa is also really tasty! Serving legit Mexican (most likely home made) chips...like you can't stop eating it and have to stop yourself because you wanna save room for the entree. I'm not sure why they serve their burritos with a side of pasta salad - highly recommend they consider serving it with a side of chips instead. It's a little off the beaten path which is kinda nice not to be in the chaos of Main street. You'll have to work a little harder to find them due to all the construction on the road but definitely worth a stop. Just an update, today we're trying a new appetizer, the Jalepeño Hotzerelo Cheese sticks. They are amazing, spicy and delicious. They come with a red sauce and a ranch. We also usually get the calamari appetizer and it is always delicious. I'm hoping you can read previous reviews. They were hit hard with the road and sidewalk upgrades, but now there is street parking in front in addition to the side lot. Prices have gone up, but the food is still a great value for what you get. Today's specials include the Challenger Bacon Cheeseburger (which includes ghost peppers), the Bad and Bougee surf and turf burrito which includes lobster, shrimp, asada, and more (big enough to split-which we do). It doesn't skimp on the meat. They have a kickin tri-tip cheeseburger, a cajeta churro basket, a heath churro Sundae, and a smokin southwest cheeseburger. All in addition to the regular menus. I highly recommend the lobster salad. This place has the best burgers in town! Service is always great. They run themselves ragged. There's love in the food! Found it randomly on the map while visiting Bishop for the first time, and it turned out to be the perfect treat before my backpacking trip. Been a vegetarian for 11yrs, and their mushroom burger is hands down the best I've had in ages, nothing like those processed impossible patties or basic portobello burgers. Same goes with the fish tacos my friend had, both dishes are juicy and tender. Cristina is super kind, and Fidel clearly cares about every detail in the kitchen. This is my favorite restaurant in Bishop without a doubt. Not only is the food the best in town, Cristina who serves and Fidel who cooks are the nicest people. Cristina is super kind and Fidel works his kitchen like it's his own. He asks you every minor detail of how you want your burger or dinner prepared. Small details matter to him in the kitchen, and it shows. It's such a great place. Hands down, my favorite in Bishop, and there is some good competition, but Indiego wins. Their burgers are great. Four of us went for lunch at 12:30 on a Sunday. A few other customers were there but plenty of seating. What a fun place with the friendly staff (family owners) and great food. The portions are large so don't be fooled by the price (it is really for 2 people to share). They enthusiastically explained the specials and ways other customers have mixed and matched burgers in creative ways that sounded amazing. We each had a beer on tap and shared some onion rings--pretty good rings but not awesome. However, the fish tacos my adult children shared were highly praised and plenty for two to share . My Wife and I shared a special--shrimp burrito with lobster added. Just perfect--lots of shrimp and lobster, flavorful, not too spicy and huge! First time driving through Bishop on our way to AZ looking for a burger place and saw this highly rated on Yelp. Decided to try it and it didn't disappoint. Family ran restaurant and they were so nice and accommodating. The owner was taking our order and making the food while helping everyone else and did a great job. He takes a lot of pride in his food and the specials. The prices were good and everything tasted very fresh.
