Can't give this place more than one star. Went at 2:45 & was seated in the bar. A few other customers were there finishing up their lunch. We did get menus, waited & waited & waited to order. Saw one waiter restocking menus for dinner, they were preoccupied with that so after 17 minutes we walked out. Heard the food was good there though... I was there yesterday. The good. Staff was good for the most part. All were friendly etc. The pad Thai was good. Very watery, but good flavor. The bad. Pesto pasta with chicken... was more like a pesto soup with noodles. Way way way to much pesto. While flavor was good, the pesto overpowered everything. We literally tried to spoon out the pesto sauce. In the end we explained to the waitress that it was way to much sauce and we couldn't eat it. She said "yeah, I heard and agree." And then gave us the check. My brother and I were in town for a few days to hike whitney and the surrounding areas. We found Whiskey Creek on yelp and we were very impressed..in fact, it was the best food we had in the area. I had the Pomodoro pasta with shrimp and my brother had the the spicy fried rice with chicken and they were both very flavorful and great portions! The entire staff had a kind demeanor and our server Kimberley was extremely genuine and personable and made us feel at home. We will definitelyy be coming back when we visit the area again! This place is great! In the midst of COVID-19 they are maintaining patio seAting with shady areas and umbrellas. I had the Salmon Rose, the mango sauce was excellent on a large, perfectly cooked filet. The quinoa added a nice crunch. I sided with the garlic/onion mashed potatoes w a side of sour cream. yum! My wife got the Whisky Wedge Salad, huge! With blue cheese dressing and glazed walnuts. A meal in itself. She also got the side veggie skewer and the spinach au gratin. Tasty! Went to whiskey in Mammoth for years. Came down to Bishop from Mammoth to run some errands and stopped in here for food. I ordered the fried rice with chicken at which point the waiter prompted me to see if I wanted the spicy version. I said yes bc who doesn't love spicy?! Turns out it came out with chicken and shrimp. I can't eat shrimp and when I said that to him he said "well it's going to take a while to get you a replacement". He had a rude and cold off putting demeanor that made us so uncomfortable I just took my meal to go when it arrived. When we ordered drinks he also neglected to bring them. Then when I asked he only brought half and I had to request again for him to bring the soda we ordered. Hit and miss. Today was an EPIC miss. (I know... I guess it's a shame that patrons are most often prompted to leave a review after a bad experience and not necessarily a good one) I've had some good experiences... but wow. Today was terrible. Staff were COMPLETELY in the 'that's not my job' mode. Food was terrible and pricey(not that the price was a concern at all). Large TV was broken... bartender completely unfriendly and looked like the LAST thing he wanted was to be there.... Prime Rib was way too tough.... Candied nuts on the wedge salad tasted super stale and OLD... I don't know. Not good is all I'm saying. read more

Server Maureen was attentive and helpful, even suggesting add some coconut milk to our curry to tone down the heat (we thought a 1 would be mild enough, but apparently not!). Delicious! Decided to try this place since they reopened. It was OK. If I recall correctly the service was nothing to brag about. I am neutral on this place. There are better places to eat while in Bishop. OK Aaron. Your waitress staff need to step it up big time. Also if the food is just OK and there is better in town that means the food side of your restaurant needs to step it up too. FYI. Ok.... A Thousand Miles from Nowhere (Thanks Dwight Yoakam) Talk about a diamond in the rough. Just finished a fabulous 5 star meal in Bishop California at the Whiskey Creek restaurant. Start to finish, the food exceeded all expectations. Caesar was excellent with a "perfect " dressing, Parmesan Crusted Chicken literally melted in your mouth and the Creme Brûlée was homemade and to die for. Oh!!! And the service was also outstanding! My family was not a fan of any of the food we ordered. We got a few appetizers and a salad to share. I almost vomited at first taste of the calamari. My husband was ok at first but then couldn't stomach it. The whiskey fries had congealed cheese. The spin dip had hair in it but was otherwise just ok. The salad with beats and quinoa was soooo soggy. I ordered a side of broccoli, which my kids usually would eat but the kids said it tasted funny. My husband agreed but was able to eat it.
