My friend and I have a tradition to Condado Tacos for a long time. Usually we love this place, hence why we keep coming back. However, tonight, our experience was a little different. Immediately when we walked in the vibes were off. Right off the bat, a stranger came to sit at our table. While we were excited to have him as company, the server told him to move. We moved past this and then we ordered the chip trio and I got a bowl of lettuce, chicken, and veggies; my friend got a kids quesadilla. This was not large portions, but our waiter came to clear our plates and shamed us for how much we ate. He exclaimed "WOW! Yall really liked your meal you cleared it right up". This was really hard for me to hear because I've struggled in the past from an eating disorder. I'm sure he meant no harm, but waiters should be more careful when they make these comments because they won't know how the customer takes it. read more

Grandma treated us to dinner, so we ordered Condado Tacos through the app and picked it up. The place had a fun, welcoming feel, and it wasn't overly busy, so pickup was quick and easy. The Mr. went with build-your-own tacos, and the kids got rice bowls . I ordered through the app (I use their rewards a lot), and it's nice getting a little back on future orders. They've also been really consistent when it comes to food allergies, which I appreciate. Everything is packaged well and done carefully. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and I've never had a bad experience at this location. Definitely a go-to for us when we want something easy and reliable. read more

I have grown to love and crave Condado tacos so much! I'm originally from California so my first time going I was a little bit thrown off because I was expecting more authentic Mexican food. HOWEVER, I keep coming back because Condado puts a fun saucey twist on their tacos with lots of fun flavors, textures, and add ins that somehow works so well. Their tacos are a lot bigger too btw and so I only need two to fill me up. So I wouldn't go for authentic Mexican food, but I would go for a fun vibe, yummy drinks, to watch a game, and if you're craving good spunky food! I tried this place recently. You can wait for a table or sit in the bar. There are tvs with the games on. Staff is friendly and checks with you frequently. I decided to try their "Suggested Tacos" and it was a good suggestion. I went with the Korean BBQ, Braised + Confused, and Rango Tango tacos. Very flavorful with lots of toppings. I imagine many have requested it before because they provided a fork to scoop up the toppings that fall out. I ended up using it. I went on a Saturday so it was pretty full, but not too crowded. This place had a pretty good vibe and the people who worked there contributed to that. The host was very friendly and social, and our server was great. I always enjoyed when a server is not just friendly but knowledgeable about the food and over the perfect amount of attentiveness. For these reasons I bumped my rating up to four stars. The food though was not something that really separates this place from other taco places. Don't get me wrong I love the twist they put on their menu with the Asian infusion and that they have vegan options on their menu but it just seemed to be missing something. I had build your own bowl which in it I put Thai tofu, black beans, rice, dirty sauce, and guacamole. I was good but the portion could have been a little bigger and wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. I love the electric vibe here! The walls are covered- corner to corner, floor to ceiling- with psychedelic art and graffiti. All of the art is painted by local artists at each Condado location. Let's talk food...As a picky eater, I enjoy the ability to build your own bowl/taco over the predesigned ones. There are numerous gluten free options and a few meatless choices. My go-to is customizing a bowl with lettuce or rice as the base. I wish they would bring back the jackfruit or roasted portobello mushrooms for the plant-based protein. I'm not a fan of the chili tofu on the current menu because it reminds me of Chinese sweet n sour chicken. Protein portions tend to always be on the small side. Service is friendly, fast and there is rarely a long wait even during peak hours. However, I'm usually disappointed because the food always comes out cold! The cheese on tacos or bowls tastes like it came out of the freezer and the protein is never warm. I'm also not a fan of the chips because they're unsalted and extremely thick and hard. I'm worried i might chip a tooth when eating them! They remind me more of pita chips. Salsas, sauces, and guacamole are great though and the margaritas are the best!! It's a very casual atmosphere but I think they could improve the dining experience by serving real silverware instead of plastic forks. If it wasn't for the cold food and skimpy protein portions, I would give Condado tacos a higher rating. read more

Great location, even better food! Our server, Alex, was awesome. He said he was new but you couldn't tell. He was knowledgeable about the menu, the spice level of the menu items, and the toast POS the restaurant used. He routinely checked in on us and joked around with us, which added to the chill, casual vibe of the restaurant. We ordered the three buds with our favorite corn salsa, garden salsa, and dirty salsa, all of which is great for appetizers. Even if you just want chips, Condado's has the best, and the garden salsa is the best for just raw original salsa. I am not a huge fan of spicy tacos or cheese (sacrilegious, ik) so I ordered the build you own, a nice feature of Condado's menu. The tacos were perfect. Every time I come here, they're perfectly crispy, not soggy, and made with a nice balance of ingredients. The only negative is parking. In the Michigan winters, especially on a day like today when we had a snow emergency and below-zero wind chills, the walk from the parking garage where you have to park to the restaurant is bitter, and when people hold the door open for large parties you can feel it through the whole restaurant. This is not Condado's fault, though, and Troy a great location for them, right by I-75. Been here before and definitely coming again. read more

The one star is solely for the margaritas. We ordered flights and they were really good (on the sweet side though, so if you don't like that steer clear). After drinks it was all downhill. We ordered flights guac and chips for an appetizer, and it was a good amount of guac for the price but it was bland and really just tasted like mashed avocado. The pickled red onions on top saved it and we ordered more of them to mix in. It truly go worse from here....our server was very slow and they weren't busy at all. That should've been our clue as it was 7:00 on a Saturday night & they were able to accommodate 12 people on no notice. Back to the food...we all ordered tacos, and everyone had varying degrees of cold food. My two tacos were the Purple Haze (which I was so excited about) and the heater. Purple haze had chorizo, sweet chili sauce, etc. the sauce was soooo good. But the taco literally felt like they took it out of the fridge and delivered it to me. It was ice cold. They could have been sitting since we had a bigger group, but everyone's food was cold. Not just sitting around cold but refrigerated cold. I don't even eat the purple haze because the cold chorizo wasn't appetizing. The steak taco was a little better and I the coldness didn't take away from the flavors too much, but we were genuinely shocked by the temp of the food. To be fair, I am from LA and used to great Mexican food. If you don't know what is good Mexican food, you might like it here. I was staying in Troy and wanted to go out with my sister and we liked that they had outside seating and was open past 7 pm. We ordered the house margarita pitcher: it was disgusting! I could only taste sourness, there was no alcohol and it was pretty bad. We ended up leaving it. The tacos were ok: again, if you have never eaten Mexican, you might like it. I did not! First time visiting Condado Tacos recently, and they had plenty of seating indoors with a casual vibe to it all. They had numerous tacos to choose from but tonight I had the Korean BBQ taco and the swole bowl. Korean BBQ taco was sweet and tangy. I enjoyed how they used a soft tortilla over a hard taco tortilla. It added a nice crunch aspect on top of the soft textures of the meat and veggies. Condado is one of my go-to spots for lunch/dinner. The prices are quite reasonable when you consider how large and filling the tacos are. My go-to is the Bad Habit, meaning I get it literally every single time I come here. It's the perfect balance of spicy, sweet, cheesy, and the texture of the soft and hard shell together is wonderful. Their fresh tortilla chips are also very good, I need to have them taken away before I eat so many I get a stomach ache. Brett is my favorite bartender. He was very attentive and kept my water filled while checking on myself and other customers and also juggling phone calls and pickup orders. My favorite server, Chelcie, is always so kind and says hi even if I'm sitting at the bar! Condado is not super busy at nights earlier in the week but it can get a bit busy on the weekends. There's usually a spot at the bar though. The ambiance is bright and I enjoy to see all of the murals from local artists that they have on the walls. read more

This is a review of primarily takeout. I have only eaten at the restaurant 1 time and it went smoothly. Bad Habit changed my life: Ju-Ju shell (contains chorizo), tequila-lime steak, rice, lettuce, pico de gallo, queso fresco, Mexican chimichurri, and habanero-mango sauce - greatest taco ever!! You get artisan tacos, with premium fillings. The packaging of their boxes is great to travel and the Guac - one of the few none homemade versions I will eat. Condado's is one of me and boyfriend's favorite places for the atmosphere and quality of food, and we've also never had to wait for a table! When neither of us know what we want to eat, we usually end up coming here. There's lots of seating indoor and outdoor and the murals all over the walls are so cool. I always find myself staring at them and finding new fun little details. The tacos are amazing and really packed full, I usually only order one or two along with chips and guac or salsa and I'm good! Though every once in a while when I want more variety, I'll order three but I've never finished three before haha. When I was here yesterday, I decided to order the lemonade for the first time and it was... not my cup of tea to say the least. It was really sour in my opinion and also kind of opaque which was a little unusual. Luckily one of the managers, Joel, noticed I didn't like it, and without me even asking, offered to take it back! I have to say one of my favorite things about the Condado chain in general is the queso. LOVE. I also always love the ambiance! Cute decor, lights, menus, etc. The chains are pretty similar with regard to the quality of the food - the tacos and bowls are pretty tasty and well made. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in by the hostess and she was very kind and helpful. Sat us immediately. Waitress was at our table within a minute or two and she was also wonderful and kind. Very attentive to our requests. The restaurant appeared clean and neat. We ordered to small blanco queso, a bowl and a carne asada burrito. Everything was tasty and yum. The only thing that was a little annoying was the parking in front of the restaurant states 30 minute limit, so we felt a little rushed. Obviously the restaurant is not to be blamed for this. I couldn't have been happier with the location of the bar, as it was conveniently within walking distance of my hotel. They offered both indoor and outdoor seating options, but the outdoor area was quite hot. The bar had an impressive selection of top-shelf drinks, including their delicious house margarita. Ate lunch here on a random Saturday and had a really nice experience. The menu is very good, especially the Korean tacos and the brisket taco. They are huge, so two of them is plenty! We paired our tacos with some chips and chorizo queso and a really nice margarita... perfect! They also have indoor or outdoor seating (either on 16 mile side or the parking lot side). It was spicy, but not too spicy. And I had the Ooey-gooey taco. I always enjoy the flavor of the tacos here. I feel the Condado taco has a little bit more flavor and kick. The tacos can be warm, but I don't find them to be overly spicy. This location has the look and feel of the other Condados I have visited with the neon graffiti on the walls. A bar runs down one of the walls. There is outdoor seating when the weather allows. The service was fast and friendly. The food came out quickly. Our appetizer appeared quickly. read more

We have been to Condado twice now and both times have had the same positive experience. Parking in the back. This place is happy hour meets hipster tacos. Every time we have visited it is loud, busy, and a great blend of chill and upbeat atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and relaxed. They don't pressure you in any way and are great at answering questions. What stands out with the service here is how FAST everything is. The staff are very prompt from the moment you walk in the door. The food comes out so quickly. No matter how busy it feels they really have a very smooth work flow. With the menu, be prepared to do a lot of reading. Its just not an intuitive menu. And yes. You read the menu correctly. ONE taco costs over five dollars. I couldn't believe it. Alas, it's true. The tacos are stellar tho. Once you get past the price point, you really get a large taco and as someone who normally eats 3-4 tacos at other spots, I could barely finish two. They're large and they're filling. Thoughtfully wrapped and assembled for you. The first time I was here I had the make your own kale bowl. It's actually quite delicious. Also, always order chips and queso! This is a great place to eat quickly or hang for a long time, based on your needs. If you're looking for a quiet place this isn't quite it. Do we think Condado Tacos realizes that in a lot of their locations, they are located around tons of other things that are more desirable than them? I feel like of the locations I've been to and people I've talked to about their experience at Condado as well, everyone has just happened upon it. No one ever intentionally goes out thinking they're going to eat at Condado but rather because everywhere else people would rather eat is too busy, so people choose Condado as a much later choice. At this Troy location, for example, there is Kura Sushi right next door to Condado. That place ALWAYS has a line, and my friends and I literally came here to eat while we waited for our number to be called at Kura haha. Don't get me wrong though, the food here is actually pretty good! I feel like their chips could be better, but all the tacos I've had here and other apps I've tried have definitely been solid. It's mystifying to me though that every time I walk into a Condado, even during peak lunch or dinner hour, and on weekends, it's never busy. So if you're ever jonesing for some tacos and don't want to wait, a safe bet would be Condado! I heard their margaritas are delicious as well, and I love their queso too. The only salsa worth having, especially if you do the trio dip of salsas & queso, is the pineapple salsa - that one SLAPPED. Came here on a Saturday evening after church and Redcoat had an hour wait. This place was full and I had a 5 minute wait. I've been wanting to come here since they opened, but haven't really had the opportunity to come. I e been to the one in Royal Oak and thought it was great as well. My kids have never been, so I thought maybe this will make be a cool dad. Just maybe but probably not. Service was great in a time when many don't want to work and would rather live off working peoples taxes, they seemed to be abundantly staffed. We started with the sky walker nachos, good but nothing to write home about. I think it's because the cheese wasn't like melter on but seemed runny possibly from the chicken juice. Also the nachos were on a tray lined with paper, and it was easy to consume soggy paper. I think they should lose the paper on the nachos. I had 2 tacos, $4 each and seems like a bargain. They are very filling and meaty. The choices are incredible here with the variety of meats and toppings. You can also easily make your own concoction, but I'd be afraid of messing it up like I was at Mongolian BBQ. The Korean bbq pork was very good. Ice tea was kept full.
