Ive lived in this area for a few years now and when I first moved to "union station north" area i would have given WTF 3.5-4/5 stars but it quickly went from decent to 'no thanks'. Ive probably been there a dozen times at least by now and I'll say this. Whiskey/cocktails = 4 stars. Menu (it's actually improved) = 3.5 stars. Service = 1 star. Disclaimer - I only ever sit at the bar but the lack of attentiveness or service from the bartending staff keeps me away. Even when the place is empty the bartenders mingle in the corner with the waiting staff. While glasses sit empty, checks sit idle etc. Originally disappointment with the menu kept me away but even since it's improved a bit the service now keeps me away. This is easily the closest place for me to walk to for lunch, a cocktail, happy hour, dinner etc but i only choose it out of desperation or laziness these days. Could be soooooo much bette UPDATE: I have to say my most recent trip there was my best. I THINK Anna was the bartender and she made a big difference compared to my previous trips. Placed an order over the phone and tried picking it up. Upon arrival I was never even greeted or acknowledged. I was standing there waiting as employees passed by. You know a simple, "Hi, we will be with you shortly" would have gone a long way. After that horrible first impression, I decided to leave. After all, there are plenty more options to choose from in Denver. I cant say this place is great. I moved into the area a few years ago when it first opened. The drinks were then reasonably priced, but there weren't many food options for people who don't like meat. The service used to be great, but has since dropped substantially. I went there with friends one night (it is sit yourself) and we sat in a booth on the first floor, waiters had passed us a couple times and we had to get up a Half hour after we got there to get somebody to serve us. Recently they changed their menu and have.a couple more Veggie options, but the prices sky rocketed to about $12 a whiskey drink, they no longer do whiskey weekends, and they only give the neighborhood discount on weekdays. Definitely a bad business decision as I used to frequent here often. read more

I am thoroughly impressed every time we go to this little hidden gem. I probably shouldn't tell you this but there are designated parking spots in the back and in the garage for this restaurant. Save me a place. They have a rooftop patio and an outdoor patio, it's dog friendly and even kid friendly despite its downtown location. They have a cute little kids menu with either grilled cheese, corn dogs, or PB and J to choose from which could definitely feed an adult with it's portion size.The staff every time we've gone have been fantastic always on top of refills, ready to anticipate needs and be of service when we go in. I've been to this establishment MULTIPLE times. We arrived this evening and sat down at a table near the bar, hoping to watch the Patriots lose. We sat at this table for greater than 15 minutes. During this time the server and bartenders locked eye contact with us yet no one bothered to acknowledge us or ask if we needed anything. At that point, we exited WTF and went next door to Pizza Pedl'r where we were greeted immediately and had a great time. My girlfriends should have been 33 and hers was 7This is not what my initial itemized receipt said and when I asked to view it, the server said it was not possible!! Basically $40 worth of stealing and the whole establishment knew what they were doing. My first introduction to cauliflower wings (delicious and deep fried) and the salads are big and yummy as well. It never hurts to add on an order of Brussel sprouts that are just the right texture. Happy hour is the best time to dine so you can get your free drink token! You can always hang on to it and use it another day. SO close to where I live, unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of the food. I ordered a sandwich once and the bread was just too dry for me to find it great. I have also tried the fried chicken which was good, just not something I would ever seek. It's definitely a great place to kick back with friends, but I'm not a huge fan of whiskey. Been here a couple times only because it's walking distance from where I live. The service is ok. They have awide variation of whisky, if you love whisky. But for the food I don't find that great at all. Theirs no flavors. I think they try to extra hard to make it amazing which loses the taste. And the chicken is tripled battered or something but that ruins a deep fried chicken which is what they are known for. Went to WTF with friends from out of town. My buddy had to ask multiple times for the bill. The bartender Eli acted like we were a burden. We asked for the bill and he continued to text on his phone. I really wanted to hang out on a rooftop patio and this place was rated well on yelp and mentioned in Denver Eater. The craft drinks are good and they have a great whiskey & beer selection. This low key patio drinks ended up being a meal with quite a few people so we were able to work our way through a lot of the menu. The stand out apps for me- the buffalo cauliflower- lightly breaded, I wonder if it could be made gluten free? Or if it's pre-made. Either way it's tasty. The poutine was good too. The goat cheese stuffed dates wrapped in prosciutto were my favorite! I had the steak for dinner and it was really delicious. Everyone raving about the brussel sprouts have lost their damn minds. They were dry and bland. 2 people at the table had the fried chicken and basically licked their plates clean! We live in the apartments directly behind Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and we are SO lucky to have a bar this awesome so close to our home! We've walked over to have a beer for happy hour or to get lunch a couple times now and have been loving it. (The fact that we get a 15% discount for living at The Huron is just the cherry on top!) They have a pretty good happy hour program with a handful of their drafts for buy one get one free, which is great. I love their selection, but my favorite is definitely the Mango Mosaic, and I get it almost every time. They also have a large selection of cans and bottles as well - not to mention their whiskey, of course. But I'm more of a beer drinker! They have a great menu, I've really loved trying a few of their appetizers and entrees, but there's definitely more of the menu I can't wait to try! The burger is great! Love the special sauce on it. Bartender was unfriendly, insanely slow, didn't apologize when food came out wrong, didn't ask if we wanted refills on drinks, never dropped our check, we put our cards out and instead of asking how we wanted them, he just split it down the middle. I frequent this place a lot since I live in the apartments just behind the building, so I'd say this review is pretty fair. 1. Selection of Whiskey(s) and other libations is stellar. They even have my favorite little raspberry lambic which makes me super happy. 2. Atmosphere is always hoppin'. It's a fun place to chill, or party. They have a rooftop lounge which is pretty fun and a cute patio where people bring their doggos. 3. Food is so-so. And I hate that I'm even saying that. The food is definitely overpriced. Portions are on the smaller side for such a large $$ amount, and they upcharge for something as simple as a little more balsamic reduction on the sprouts. A caesar salad + shrimp will set you back a pretty penny. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but not worth the $$$. I have eaten pretty much everything on the menu, which isn't hard to do as it's not a very big menu. Which is fine, I think being a restaurant is second to the bar. Fried cheese curds are good, but usually I get more jalapenos than cheese which is disappointing. The po-boy is good, but definitely too spicy. The ahi tuna tacos are bomb! Heard about this place from a friend and am always a little reluctant on recommendations but let me tell you.. it was hands down thee best brunch! I was in town for Pride with a group of friends for the weekend and even thoughh they were busy they still seemed to have a very personal vibe about it. I was told specifically (from a very reliable source) to try the chicken and waffles. Very VERY satisfied with my choice I decided to nibble on my girlfriends left overs, the bagel with smoked salmon! I am currently in a food coma and have ZERO regrets!
