It's funny I saw the red reviews about how helpful the staff was and I was so excited I didn't have to leave shoreline to buy new boots. Walked in and I was the only customer in the store. The sales associate greeted me after about a minute of me being in the store and I said I'm here to buy some boots. I was direct in my intentions of spending money right then but was not offered any kind of assistance. So I paced around the boots already knowing what I wanted and still no help. I could hear the price "gun" working though but an impending sale didn't take precedent. After about ten minutes of waiting I turned around and walked out. As I'm leaving she asked me if I needed help back there and I replied "not anymore." If you're gonna spend over $250 on boots you would expect some kind of urgency from the counter staff. I understand restocking is important but so is making money. Looks like I'll be going to Sodo or Everett after all as they are always attentive at those locations. read more

If you want pants, make sure that you want black or light brown relaxed fit, because those are your only options. Walking into this store was the worst experience of my life! The woman that own and run this place on 152nd and aurora so freaking rude! A bunch of people walked in at the same time. One of them said "Jesus here comes the tweeker brigade! When I walked in I was carrying my keys and that was it. I had no backpack or any kind of bag and I wasn't wearing a coat so there was no way humanly possible that I could've shoplifted anything from them. I was trying on big car hart coats and everytime I took one off one of these (I call them woman but mean something else) owner/workers would literally snatch it out of my hands and put it back on the hanger. The whole time I was in there I was watching this one guy completely stuffing his coat and pants with stolen merch. But these people were to involved with calling me a thief to even notice and at this point I wasn't gonna say anything. My friend I went there with walked out and they said well your friend left so bye. They basically kicked me out!!!!!!! Long story short if you wanna be treated like garbage then go to WhistleWorkWear on 152nd and aurora in Seattle Washington. They're truly foul people. I had to rate it to post it. I've been here a few times now. They offer a 10% discount to union employees so for me they are a little cheaper than even amazon. The customer service is good. They let you know they're around for questions but don't hover or anything If you're just browsing. The selection is really good and they also have cool and random impulse buys near the front of the store. This is my spot for work gear for now! read more

Very impressed with this place. Went in on a Saturday to get fitted for some new work boots. They've had at least six or seven people working. Staff was extremely friendly. A STORE WELL WORTH VISITING!! I am very impressed by the extensive selection in this well-organized workwear and sportswear clothing store and its very knowledgeable staff. They are the only ones I could find that carried Carhartt' HEAVY-WEIGHT sweatshirts and hoodies, after trying Fred Meyer, Penney's and Sears. (Most sweatshirts are not heavy enough for the fall and winter outdoors.) And the prices are competitive with Amazon. com and other websites. Been doing some remodeling and needed a good pair of boots that I could also dig in. Whistle Workwear is close to me and has fairly good prices. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I ended up getting a pair of timberlands, (they didn't have much of a woman's selection for work boots). Definitely more of a male oriented store. Especially when it comes to "dirty work". The selection for women is mainly scrubs, and maybe a few construction t-shirts. I came here merely out of convenience because Cabelas is a bit out of the way. Either way if you buy work boots here you get a free pair of socks with them, so thats a plus! read more

The staff is very helpful and not pushy at all. They have a great selection of working appearl and safety gear. Prices even beat amazon and eBay sometimes and for a retailer that says alot. Only thing I don't like is the prices on boots even the clearance rack is steep. read more

Came in to get a new pair of work boots, I work construction and it's hard to find a good pair of boots that are not only comfortable but will last. I've been a long time fan of White's boots. I saw Whistle Work wear was a dealer, I was a little discouraged when the only White's boots they carried were the smoke jumpers(not a construction boot) the salesman was very sorry and offered to have me try other boots on, I declined as I've worn about every brand of boot over the years (Danner, Keen, Georgia, Timberland) I had my heart set on White's. I was pleasantly surprised when the salesman said let me get our White's catalog let me know what you want and I'll have my manager special order them for you. I thumbed through the catalog found the boot I had my heart set on. Manager measured my foot asked me for any special details, color desired sole etc. she wrote up the order form gave me a free tub of boot grease, and offered to have my boots drop shipped to my door for free. The staff at this store are amazing. Helped me for over an hour, to find a great pair of work boots. They're very knowledgeable- on footwear especially, and one of the staffers who was new there told me they have boot company reps come in and do trainings. It's true the women's section of boots and clothing is not large, BUT it exists! Which is better than plenty of stores that have even less or no selection at all for women. Considering that women make up ONLY TWO PERCENT of workers in the trades (the percentage has remained unchanged for the last FORTY YEARS!) there's the reason why the women's section is so small. Heading there tonight to get rain boots with safety toes, so my feet will stay dry for the next few weeks, and I wouldn't consider going to a different store, unless I absolutely have to, and even though traffic was so bad today, I should've gone shopping at the South Seattle location. But I know even if they don't have what I need in Shoreline, they'll be able to help me out, they've offered to transfer goods up there from one of their other stores. Again, compared to most workwear stores they have a great women's section, especially for boots....though I'd love to see someone manufacture and have them carry work pants that actually fit my curves better.
