It's not often I want to go on yelp to give a review but this store deserves a shout out. The customer service at this location is amazing. The staff have been properly trained. I took my nephew and niece in for school clothes. They are very shy and not outspoken. I have a hard time getting them to tell me what they like. This kid (apologies for not remembering his name)that works there was just absolutely wonderful. His customer service skills were great. He got both my kids to open up and try things on. I complemented him to his boss and that was Another wonderful interaction. So smart and understood what it takes to create a great shopping experience. Went in for bindings since my last online order on them got canceled, surprisingly they have decent deals on snow gear once in a while. Went it to see if I could get the same deal at the shop as online, manager didn't want to help and instead tried to push product, with the constant un-needed flattery and use of the word bro. Found something that in store that fit what I wanted but I had to order online again, no problem, a week later followed up with online order to find out they filled it but is out of stock. So no bindings again. Phone rep I spoke to on their customer service # made things better and hooked me up with a better model of the bindings I order and express delivery, without an excess charge. Don't shop at this store, and just order online. Their in-store service is lame, but phone customer service line rocks. read more

The guys who work there are always positive and enjoyable to talk with - for BOTH me (the Dad) and my 13 year-old son. That's something to say, the ability to connect with both of us, and provide great service. The workers here are so creepy. They literally harass you and ask you the weirdest questions when you clearly don't want to interact/talk to them. Also there's one employee who randomly taps on my 12 year old sister and says 'Hi' and then walks away... mind you he looks 25. Also another worker asked my sister and her friends what school they go to... WHY?! They're clearly children. This Review is actually for the Zumiez Headquarters C.S Department. Since there is no Yelp page for that, I am going to leave it here. Dear Zumiez C.S. Department, I would just like to take a moment and thank you for your great customer service and very much appreciate your assistance with my order. I called earlier today in regards to my 32 Kaldwell Jacket that I had purchased with my holiday gift cards. The jacket I received was missing the inner bottom button leaving a flap of material at the bottom that does not secure. I called Sole-Tech as this appeared to be a manufacturing defect, however they stated that Zumiez would get me taken care of. So, I called the CS number and spoke to Kevin. As I explained the situation, Kevin was empathetic and helpful. I explained that next week I am leaving on a 2 1/2 week trip to Tahoe and Mt Hood Oregon and wanted to have a jacket before I leave on Thursday. I looked online to check for stores that had stock for an exchange...no dice. Bummed. Told him about this and he said, let me see what I can do. He asked to call me back, I said "No Problem". Fast Forward...less than 5 minutes, phone rings and it's Kevin. "Hi Michael, It's Kevin at Zumiez. I found you a replacement Jacket and I am going to send it expedited shiping so that you hopefully receive it before you leave on your trip. As for the old one, feel free to donate it to somebody else that may need one". Me: Mind Blown..."What? Are you certain? I am happy to take it back to a store..." Kevin replies "Don't worry about it...keep it, donate it or take it back. It's my pleasure." As he was saying that, I thought of a good friend eager to learn snowboarding and who could benefit from this Jacket. I can't wait to see his face when I hand it to him. The reason I download yelp... ok so let me start off with I have never shoplifted ever from anywhere I swear to god. Ok so i decided to go hang out at alderwood mall after school with my friend, just normal teenage stuff both of us are kinda poor so we usually don't buy anything but it's fun to go in stores and look around. Anyways I told my friend hey wanna go in zumies that's a pretty cool store, huge mistake let me tell you. Anyways so I went in we both looked around for a few minutes and we were about to go when the guy working there then gets all mad at me thinking I stole some stupid choker. So I was just kinda confused because I didn't know what the hell he was talking about. Ok also I'm 14 years old I've never been accused of stealing anything I didn't know what to do. But anyways he asks me to show him what's in my pockets so I did. I took everything out of my pockets even pulling my pockets out and kept telling him I had no clue what choker he was talking about. He then proceeded to ask me if he could look in my back pack hence I just got out of school I have my back pack with me. I agreed to let him search it as there was nothing in it but school supplies, some beanies I have in case my hair isn't cooperating, some weird doodles I did in class, home work, tea for during lunch time incase I want it, chapstick, the jewelry I had just bought at hot topic along with the recite I paid $8.83, and some garbage since I'm not very organized. No choker! The guy then proceeded to question me of what I did with it. This would be a good time to tell you I have extremely awful social anxiety and I get upset even when people just ask me a few questions like something as stupid as "how is your day going"? So this was just plain horrible for me. Also I had already had a pretty bad day so far, I have some missing work for school and I already was pretty stressed about that and also I had a pretty bad anxiety attack earlier that day, so this my anxiety was through the roof. The guy basically called me a liar and persisted that he saw me take it and put it in my pocket. Eventually I just couldn't take it anymore and I started balling my eyes out saying I was sorry and I didn't take it! He then finally let me leave the store still thinking I took it. I had to walk out of the mall tears flowing down my face I was hyperventilating I felt like I was going to pass out. I had to sit outside for about 30 minutes just to get myself to calm down luckily I had my friend with me but still it was awful. As for the choker I never even saw the little tray of them he was talking about and I have no clue what the hell it even looked like, also I don't own any chokers and I really don't even like the way they look I personally would never wear one and especially not now. That all being said I'm never going to step foot in another zumies ever again. I know the guy was just trying to do his job but still it doesn't make the situation any less traumatic. I've had some bad experiences in stores before but never like this, that's the reason I even wrote this review and if I could give it 0 stars I would because this whole experience was completely awful. (Update) I was thinking back to everything that occurred, I did some research and Zumies y'all have a potential law suit on your hands. 1. False accusations the man claimed I was guilty even though I was not. 2. Invasion of privacy, the man dug through my entire bag and made me empty my pockets. 3. False imprisonment, the man would not let me leave the store even though I was completely innocent. 4. Slander, in a public area (the middle of the fucking store! Next to the entrance were people walking by could also see!) the man repeatedly claimed I was guilty and wouldn't stop. I can get that at Walgreens and better quality. Why am I paying top dollar for a Gildan shirt with the tag ripped out and resewn with your wack companies tag? For real though. I've been in here a couple times in the past few months with my boyfriend, the first not being so great (employee in the back was playing around with a skateboard when me and the bf needed assistance and were staring at him), second time was pretty alright, chatty gal talking with us about RipNDip. Tonight was a very good experience. We were greeted by a blond guy with flippy bangs and black nails (didn't catch his name). We had a long talk with him about our day, and he told my bf that he was the "best looking guy he'd seen all day" and "you've got some sick shoes, a nice shirt, and your glasses are really cool" and was raving excitedly. Super super friendly. He lets us go to browse, we get checked on by one or two of the other employees there; one of which is a guy named Morgan. He started the conversation by asking my boyfriend about his car (he keeps his keys hanging on his belt loop) and they chatted a little bit about cars. We eventually picked out what we wanted, and got rung up by a cashier (he was a person of color; short hair and facial hair, didn't catch his name either). He hyped up what we were purchasing, and Morgan was at the tables fixing the displays, also hyping up the purchase. We paid and as we were leaving, Morgan said something like "y'all ain't leaving without high fives!". He high fived us and told us to have an awesome night. Probably my best experience at a Zumiez; employees weren't too on us when we were browsing, they had a high and positive energy, and they actually made attempts to connect with their customers (talking about cars, our day, etc). Morgan, along with the other two employees working that I didn't get the name of, were super nice, super helpful, and they're the homies. Everyday I walk into Zumiez I am greeted by the most energetic millennials. And they sell me the most "dope" clothes. And they assist me well through my endeavors. But alas, the day I needed that daily greeting the most. They failed me. As I stood in the center of Zumiez lost with 0 self confidence left. I panicked and purchased a long board... with no regard for human life I leave the store in tears still yet to be greeted. I came here to get my son geared up for snowboarding. I made the right choice. The folks in here are the best. Did I say they are the best? They are the best. I have been trying to get the "Nike SB Portmore II Dark Grey & Gum Canvas Skate Shoes" for my husband for over a week. I saw online that the Everett mall had two pairs so I drive from Camano Island to Buy a pair. When I got there the gal was very nice, but told me she couldn't find them... So I went to another Zumiez store and found the pair in a 10.5. Later that night my husband tried them on and unfortunately they were too small... So I went to the Everett Mall to exchange them and they didn't have size 11... even though the website said they had one in stock. I was quite irritated at this point. I called the Zumiez at the Alderwood Mall to see if they could physically see if they had size 11 in the shoes (and not base it off of the website) and if they could hold them till that evening. I work until 7pm and could not leave to pick them up till after. I was told they could not hold it for more than an hour and I began to explain how I have had a lot of issues with trying to get these shoes from the start. After being transferred a few times I ended up talking to the Manager, Micah. He understood that my situation and he stated that it was not a problem at all and he would personally make sure the shoes were held for me till I was able to get off work. I was very relieved and appreciated him working with me. When I got there a little after 7pm, he helped me immediately and I was able to exchange the shoes. He was VERY positive, polite and had a great attitude! I sincerely appreciate him bending the rules a bit so I would be able to exchange them. I was impressed with how easy the transaction was and there were no issues at all. Due to Micah's effective problem solving skills, he showed not only an example to his coworkers how to work with a customer during examples like this but he also showed that he cared and understood a cumstomers needs. I came here a couple of times after a good experience at a Zumiez at a different location. Once to buy myself a longboard and another time to buy a longboard for my little brother. Because the hobby was new to me, I asked an associate many questions about the different types of boards and what I should be looking for. He explained the difference between a skateboard and a longboard and explained the differences between the different designs and types of longboards. I definitely came out of there much more knowledgeable than I did going in. He also spent some time teaching me how to actually ride and turn on the board. read more
