Just wanted a brake/light inspection certification. Wanted to charge me $190.00. The talk, skinny old man with the glasses was an A-Hole. Very rude and unprofessional. He didn't even want to do it. An hour later I found a place in Fullerton that only changed me $120.00 and was very nice and courteous. Completed the job in less than 40 minutes. read more

This was my first visit to White Automotive. I had heard about them from my neighbor. My car is a 2008 Honda. My issue was a sound I had not heard previously. They said they had a full shop, but to bring the car over. When I arrived, they listened to the sound and told me what it potentially could be. A few hours later, they called and had the primary problem fixed. But during the test drive, they found another issue. With the age of the car, I was not surprised. I was grateful they found and fixed this other issue. I depend on the car to operate even though it is not used often. read more

I have been here 3 times for major repairs because they are Certified by Auto Club and you get 10% off parts and labor. They are excellent at what they do and are very honest but they blind-side you when you are handed the invoice. Two out of the 3 visits, I was charged more than $100 of what I was quoted. When I reminded them of what I was quoted, they claim they never said that. When it comes to money, you definitely remember what you were told. I have never had this happen to me at other repair shops. When you are on a fixed income, you can't keep having this happen to you. Every extra dollar counts. I do like how they give you a 2 year warranty on parts and labor and never try to upsell you, and they do go above and beyond to find the parts needed to fix your vehicle. Maybe the extra cost is worth it to have peace of mind that the job was done right. You decide. read more

Took my truck to them for a motor mount and i some how messed up my idel after i installed a throttle body space..needless to say i could not it it to idel right Larry and his team keep the truck from a couple days and fix it. I have to say they were kind and knowledgeable.. He was persistent about making sure it was fixed and even told be to go get a refund for the new throttle body I bought , thinking that would fix it. i will be taaking my truck back again when i need to get work done. Wanted to patronize this shop because I live in La Habra within walking distance. Took my F-150 to Diagnose a problem I am having. I had the feeling that I may need to replace the engine. It has approximately 150,000 miles on it. So I asked for a quote for a new/remanufactured engine, check engine and let me know what is wrong with the vehicle. I Don't know what they really did or if they did anything. I do know they said nothing was wrong with the truck and it was going to cost me $100 dollars for the diagnostic they did. They didn't run scanner to see why check engine light was on. They don't clear the check engine light. So what did they do? They charged me $100 dollars. Didn't give me a quote for replacing the engine. Told me I'd have to come back. I will never go back, this was a complete waste of my time. Went to another mechanic, he didn't charge for diagnostic and gave me a full run down on most of my vehicle problems. Turns out I need to rebuild or replace my engine. Also need to replace catalytic converter. I have the money for a new truck, but it is a lot cheaper to get a new engine and catalytic converter. The rest of the truck is in great condition. Customer service needs an additude adjustment as well. read more

Gave White a try because it was close to home and had good reviews. I regret it! They charged me MORE than the dealer for an remanned alternator and serpentine belt. After a month, the alternator died and had to be replaced again. White covered it under warranty. After two months, the serpentine belt has to be replaced too. I know that sometimes you get a bad part, but what are the odds on getting defective parts on the two items replaced? And charging more than the dealer to do so? No thank you! read more

Wish I would have read these reviews before coming here. These guys are scammers. They charge you way more then the job should actually cost. We've called them on it and they finally admitted they were over-charging for a part that we were able to buy the exact same thing online. I can't anything good about their customer service or lack of knowledge. I was told by one employee they could work on my land rover ,however it would be a few days out since they are busy. This is the honest garage that everyone hopes for. The owner and mechanics are honest and they do a great job. They did work on my Lexus for me in the past. When you drive by you can see that they have the knowledge and expertise to work on all kinds of vehicles from every era as you are likely to see anything from a model T to a newer Lexus or Mercedes in the garage. I am a client of White Automotive because my mother took her car there. I have gone when I think I hear things going on they look at it and find nothing and never made feel bad about it. They are honest, by the book and courteous to the maximum. However, when my car actually had something they were on it immediately, called me with the problem and cost. They work hard to keep that shop clean. Once I was not able to pick up the car on a Friday, they kept it for me until Monday inside the garage. The crew is top of the line. Mom was right!! read more

I visited White Automotive again because my battery died. I called the AAA and they in turn send an idiot who resembled Shrek from Hadley Tow. He told me my alternator was dying and to bring it to their shop for repair. I said no way and instead brought it to White Automotive as I always do. They charged my battery and found there was nothing wrong with my alternator, in turn it ended up being a corroded battery cable. and loose terminals that were installed by the drive from Hadley Tow in Whittier. I asked them to check the car because of a small leak. They found a leaking trans cooler line and a leaking radiator cap. They made all my repairs at a very fair price and did not keep me waiting. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the integrity, efficiency and honesty of White Automotive. this is a top notch shop with well seasoned mechanics that all speak English. These qualities are very refreshing these days. One last note, there was a gentleman who had a transmission problem and was driving his camper up to Portland. He only trusted White Automotive to repair his vehicle but his problems started in Bakersfield. The owner named Larry drove all the way to Bakersfield to fix his vehicle good enough to get it back to his shop in La Habra all free of charge. Now if this isn't service I don't know what is. I just can't say enough good things about White Automotive. They will never let you down and you will never leave with a frown. read more

2006 Toyota Sequoia Ltd. I travel to Las Vegas and Laughlin Frequently AC broke in Barstow, Ca. Took Car to 3 other shops with awful service writers. At White got honest opinion and estimated cost. It took 4 or 5 trips back to finally get it Fixed and blowing COLD. But I expected it to be a complex issue with 2 AC motors and separate controls. They found the most obscure defective part. All in all at a fairly reasonable price. read more

As I was driving on the 60 freeway, an empty pallet suddenly appeared on my lane. I dragged the pallet for about a quarter of a mile. The result was my 2012 Nissan Versa was making all types of noises underneath. Triple A insurance recommended this automotive repair place. The owner Mr. White and all of the workers, especially Mr. Jones were very polite, and honest. In 15 minutes, he found and repaired some loose screws responsible for making the noise. The charge was free. The dealership had said I needed new front tires, an alignment, and some body work. This is one of the last honest auto repair shops left. I would recommend this shop to everybody, especially relatives, friends, and co-workers. read more

My family has been a long time customer of White for as long as I can remember. However, recently, as they're business has begun to slow down I have lost all trust in them. It started last summer when I needed my fuel pump replaced and they charged $900 for a part that typically only costs $200. After being ridiculously overcharged I decided not to go back to them. My parents still continued to use them as their primary mechanic but this past weekend was the last straw even for them. Once again my car had issues and my mom took it in cause I was out of town. She took it early in the morning and in the meantime went to the gym with her friend. When they were driving back, my mom spotted what looked to be my car in a random person's front driveway. They went back and sure enough it was my car. She called Rob at White who at first denied my car was not at the shop but then said it was on a "test drive." My mom pressed him further and said its not being driven it's just parked. He then said the test driver forgot his jacket and decided to grab it real quick during the drive. My mom called my dad who also called Rob. Rob told him they were "simulating" real life by driving the car then stopping it and seeing how it runs after being parked. He also told my dad a story about the mechanic who came into work with pneumonia and didn't want to go home so they put him on test drive duty. Sooo this guy with a contagious illness is driving my car?! I was furious. My dad asked what they found to be the problem and it was an ignition coil. My dad told Rob never mind I will do it myself. At this point Rob said no it's already fixed... So they told 3 lies, fixed the car without giving an estimate beforehand, had someone with a contagious illness drive it, and still charged us for it. Rob had also told my mom the car would be ready by 2 or 3Pm. When he told my dad it was already fixed it was around 1130am. Sooo did this employee just take my car home for his lunch break?? I will never know. Extremely unprofessional and deceptive behavior. We will not be coming back to White for further business read more
