How come food you enjoyed as a kid, almost never taste as good as you remember as an adult? Growing up in Brooklyn, it was a TREAT for my family to hit the local White Castle...mainly because the famous sliders back then were only $.60 and you could feed a family of five for less than $10. So fun fact, did you know that the corporate headquarters for White Castle is Columbus, OH? I surely didn't, but after discovering this fact, I then understood why there are no less than 14 (as of this review) locations in and around the greater Columbus area. I was in town visiting some friends, and was elated that there was a brick-and-mortar store for me to step foot into. For the past couple of decades, the only way to satisfy my White Castle craving was to get a pack from the freezer section at my local grocery store. After microwaving for the specified time on the package, I was always disappointed that the sliders didn't taste fresh, the bread was mushy, and the flavor was "off." I had a long drive back to Detroit, so I stopped by on my way out of town, and ordered a bag of sliders...some of which I ate in the dining room. Interior is standard fast food decor of tile flooring, semi-uncomfortable hard back chairs and tables, with thankfully no music being piped in. Food was ready in about 3 minutes, but my anticipation of having an ACTUAL White Castle slider prepared in a store for the first time in about 20 yrs was quickly dashed by the reality: it was MID. The bread was steamed on top of the meat and onions to give it that distinctive flavor profile, but it was still kind of mushy. The meat had that "distinctive" grayish/brown color since the patties are not fried at high heat to give it a customary grill char. The cheese and onions were melted and combined nicely though. After quickly chowing down on three burgers in 5 minutes, I had to get back on the road. I dunno. Maybe nostalgia as well as those "Harold and Kumar" movies from the early-Aughts built up the mental hype so much, that I couldn't help but be underwhelmed by the entire experience. Then again, if I'm being honest, if there were White Castle locations in the DMV...I'd probably swing to grab a bag of sliders every so often.

Was having a craving and decided to stop in. This location as the automated AI ordering so not sure how I feel about it but it was easy. Actually I feel like it is just a measure to save overhead in a headcount and make it so less people are needed to run the store. I will add the AI was nicer than some drive thru workers though. Service was quick. And the food was good. I ordered four jalapeños White Castles with extra onion. No one maybe kissing me tonight but the burgers hit the spot. Looking in through the drive through and into the lobby through the windows I have to add this maybe the cleanest White Castle I have seen. Would recommend if you are a fan of this chain.

After moving back to Cbus from Florida 5 years ago, I was finally happy to have White Catle again. This has actually been the only location I've been to since, but it's always my go to!

This 1921 slider is nothing like the others! So good.

What an excellent establishment. Quick and easy and the cashier at the drive thru window was friendly. We talked for over an hour which made the people behind me mad. Ok, it wasn't that long but he was a good "front man" for the store. That 1921 slider is one of the better options and I'm glad they decided to keep it on the menu. You can actually see the burger portion of the burger. They also have their normal fare of sliders with burgers, chicken, waffles, and other items that rotate in an out. I have to do this on road trips as the one that opened in Orlando is still usually busy AF. It's only 4 stars instead of 5 as the Drive-Thru was my only option at 7:15p. I do prefer to order and eat my food fresh. The line moved quick and my hotel was close, but wish I could have eaten them right off the griddle.

Incredible service from the drive thru late on a Monday night. Very cheerful and welcoming. Generous with condiments. The food was piping hot and hit the spot. Share mega #8 contains plenty of food for 2-3 people (10 sliders plus sacks of chicken rings and fries). Very reasonable at $20. Super satisfying. Loved the Jalapeño Sliders. Hard to beat the convenience and value!

Our delicious meal...a Crave Clutch of 20 and four fries.

I didn't realize you could customize toppings for the burger and was a bit overwhelmed so I went with lettuce, tomato, and ketchup. It already came with bacon and American cheese. Two thin patties and a delicious buttery bun. It's not bad! And the burger wasn't all that greasy! The chili cheese fries were also excellent! The chili was pretty beefy. Sometimes with chili, you get chunky beef and beans, and mostly sauce. This one was pretty much all beef. Very protein forward! They also have dairy free milkshakes, which are hard to find in general. I got Oreo. So good! Probably the one thing I'd come back for since I'm not sure where else serves this on the menu. Staff was nice. They double checked if I wanted cheese since I ordered a dairy free milkshake. I told them milk is my issue, not usually cheese. I appreciated them checking! They even came out and handed me my food and drink! Parking is easy. A good amount at the back and side of the building. Would love to come back!

The owner with no vision or appetite to franchise lost his original idea to the Wendy's hamburger joint as Dave Thomas took the idea Nationwide. If you're not in LIMA, the next best thing and maybe just something even a little bit better or at least different for sure, is RITZY'S in Columbus, Ohio, right in the middle of everything on high Street! The good: upgraded love to the buns here came from some fancy bread company. This is not like your average bun out of a bag that KEWPEE uses from a factory down the street. These are almost like a brioche bun that just didn't get toasted. That would be some next level they could put on it when they don't have an entire baseball team dropped off and in line to all get a Fitzys combo with fries and a Coke well actually you gotta get Dr Pepper around here. They don't have a Coke distributor ship. the bad: I gotta tell you the only thing I can find wrong with this place is that you want to be lucky enough to be in front of the bus bringing all their kids here to buy them all one double stack Fitzy's combo with Fitzy sauce and special melted cheese and bacon, along with the signature skinny fries that don't come out soggy but crispy every single time. I can't say I've ever been disappointed and got lame fries like other places. the ugly: well, I guess the ugly for this place would have to be the fact that you couldn't eat here every day or you might drop dead of a heart attack. It's not for Dr. Quinn medicine woman or Dr. Oz in his leather chewing Koehl dietary repertoire this is for MEN! Men that like to eat burgers. The food channel came through here and somehow got tricked down to the THURMANATOR hamburger which is half bread, according to The Report from my foodie friend David Aaron Rosenberg. Whatever you do, don't think about crispy, smash burgers with edges crunching at your first bite, all the way to your last bite, on buns that take into account every continuous bite within the five minute rule of the perfect hamburger. #5MinuteRule #NiceBuns #Smashburger #KEWPEEvsRITZYS The ambience of this place is your old-fashioned burger joint with that 50s feel standup tables against the wall window and some tables in the middle if you come with a group. Got my food fast, but I was in front of the baseball team that just showed up! #ProTIPritzys : if the line inside is really long, I saw people ordering from the parking lot and coming right in the front door by the street to get their order quicker. I don't know if they had just happened to Order before the whole baseball team showed up or if there's a little secret to get in the queue faster than the long line that's waiting. Yes you can order online.

This was my first time ever having Raising Cane's. The fries were a good portion, but definitely too soggy. The Texas toast is fairly good, I could taste the butter on it; personally, when I'm already eating fried chicken and french fries, I probably don't need another brown carb with it, but I know it's just their "thing." The chicken fingers were decent size and I'm sure they would've been crispier if it wasn't for the styrofoam container. The breading was nice because it was a little heavier than Popeye's in my opinion, but not by much. I liked the Cane Sauce personally, although it was a tad salty. I'm glad I can say I tried it, but I'm not craving it strongly. Drive-thru service was fast, which was a plus.
