Beers good, location good, atmosphere is ok... great big garage door and giant barrel system which are cool but the layout of the seating feels to stagnant - need to add some high tops and make it feel a bit more industrial less cafeteria style. Such a great brewery! Boise has some good ones but this is tops for sure. The beers are so good it's hard to have a loyal "go to" so flights are best so I can have some of all the ones I like. I love this place. I've been coming to this location since TableRock was here and this is by far the best incarnation. Absolutely great service and the owners are top notch. Low key, bar games, and great service. Also, you can even get an original Hopzilla from TableRock if that floats your boat. Beer is sub par but the biggest disappoint ment was bringing my dog and being told they are not dog friendly in a town that is very dog friendly.... food might be great very nice decore and set up inside but having beer that has no draw back and being mis leading with the name and a tiny patio very disaponted will not be back.... read more

Im sure the food and the beer are fantastic, however we sat at our table for 15 minutes without even being greeted. When I got up to find an employee and ask where our server was, I was assured they would be over shortly. 5 minutes later, I tried to flag down the same person again. A few minutes later, she (still not even our server) came over and apologized, said she would at least get our drink order in. That was 20 minutes too late for us and we were unable to stay due to time constraints. Disappointed in the service, won't try to pop in for a quick beer and bite again. read more

Very friendly and fun environment. Great beer, food, and service! I have been a few times and always have a great time. The food menu is a decent size for having a food truck but the quality of food is fantastic!! I have had both burgers on the menu and they are amazing! One of the best in Boise! Also their beer is delicious. Lots of choices and great tastes. They offer samplers that make a great way to try the different beers for a lower price, I think I tried 10. Great spot just off downtown. The staff was super friendly during my two visits, engaging in conversation and very helpful helping me find a shirt for my son (I was in town for business). Really nice place. The service was great! Really nice remodel. The food was excellent wife and I shared the jalapeno popper egg rolls, pork belly potine, and beer bacon burger. You have to try these items my favorite was probably the burger such a great flavor combination. We got 6 of their different beers to try. The barrel scotch ale was amazing my 2 favorites were the amber ale and the Irish stout I think. I'm personally not a huge fan of IPA beers but rather enjoyed the haze IPA. read more

Members in our party had their Scottish Ale, Raspberry Sour, and Imperial Stout; all reports were that the beer was great! The atmosphere is good; love that open industrial look! The location is nice; just enough outside of the downtown core that parking & traffic were easy. The service could use a little refinement; our server was slow, never brought some requested napkins, and generally seemed more interested in leaning against the railing to talk with his coworkers. Also, they need to have ice; we were told they don't have ice because "that's a bar thing". Well, sorry to say, most people still prefer ice in a glass of water or soda. We visited on their second day open. It was excellent, and looks like it will be getting even better. We tried the blackberry sour, the Scotch ale, and the English IPA. All were good, the Scotch Ale was great. We ordered food from the onsite food truck. Super convenient as there are menus at the table and the brewery staff take your order and bring it to you. Basically, if you didn't know better, you wouldn't know that it didn't come from their own kitchen. We got the Backyard Burger, and the Bourbon Mustard Pork sandwich. Both among the better pub type fare we have around here, and very tasty fries. They had about a half dozen beers on tap, and it looks like that will be roughly doubling. They indicated that several more were brewing up now. Can't wait to see what's coming. We will definitely return. read more

First trip to Boise and found this Brewery across the street from our hotel. Had the scotch ale and an amber and was very impressed. The server recommended we try another local place as well, but we ended up back here for our nightcap when the other place was a bust. The servers are friendly, beer is good and fairly priced. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the pork belly on the tacos could have been a bit more fresh tasting. read more

I really wanted to like this place. They have a dedicated food truck for their food that had some amazing sounding options. The waiter when we arrived had some friends change tables to accommodate our part of 7. Super nice. Let's start with the service, I will say they appeared short staffed but it was beyond that. It took about 20 minutes or more to just get a drink order. Then at least an additional 20 or more minutes to get our food order in. I had finished my first beer. There was at least 5 items that we were told they just ran out of. Seemed kinda weird on a Friday at 8 pm but ok. Then after an hour of waiting we finally get our food. The only thing that was hot was the burgers and soup. Cold wings, cold tacos and the wings were over cooked and looked horrible. I think the waiter may have been hitting the bong in back because he couldn't get anything right. Forgetting drinks, missing order items ect. I think we spent 2.5 hours here, mostly waiting. After traveling with 2 kids and a German Shepard all day in an RV, we read online that this place was dog-friendly. Realizing we were in a 24' RV that would require parking downtown and not everything you read online is true, we called. The guy who answered the phone assured us it was both dog and kid friendly so proceeded with our plan. After finding a paid lot and paying for 2 spots we entered with our family and pup. Immediate we were told by the server that it was not dog-friendly, I explained we had called and she sent a manager over. This lady needs to go back to school for hospitality immediately. She said she was the manager and she hadn't talked to me almost insinuating I was lying. When I showed her the phone number she acted confused and said: "well the patio is open during the summer". Really frustrating to put in the legwork and then get treated like you did something wrong. Bad experience and poor form by someone claiming to be management. Good news is, if you find yourself in the same predicament, go down the road 4 minutes and check out Payette Brewing. Awesome beer, truly dog-friendly, and a huge yard area to let the kids and dog run. Maybe White Dog should change their name to No Dog Brewing. read more

This place is super solid. Just get a pretzel, trust me. Killer IPA's and that's saying something, considering I come from NC, a state with a very competitive beer scene. This is my favorite spot in Boise forsure, chill atmosphere great beer recommend burbon ale if you like dark beer! Bartenders and the owner are super cool will definately hangout and have full on conversation with you. Lastly i want to talk about there food which is amazing! Really anything on the menu takes normal bar food and makes it magical truely amazing. I had a large group bike tour planed for some visitors from Vancouver B.C. Unfortunately thunder showers forced us to cancel our bike ride, so we spent the afternoon at White Dog instead. Tried this place the other night. Locals will recognize this place as Boise's original brew house, Tablerock. So this place is brand new..they had about 9 different beers on tap. They were out of my first choice, English IPA. Tried the fresh hop. Not bad. Not great. My wife and I had the pretzel..highly recommend. Best pretzel I've had in a long time...you hear that Prost??!! My wife had the pork belly tacos and I had a pulled pork sandwich. She enjoyed hers. They need Siracha!! Would also be nice to have some side. The sandwich was ok. The meat was cold. Didn't expect that. The fries need work. Hand cut steak fries that were cold and not cooked thoroughly. This place, their neighbors, the gas lantern and long drop cider all share the same food truck, smoke and thyme. I will likely give it another chance. White dog could use more attentive service. Stop checking your cell phone while working!!! read more
