The place is big. The beer is basic and the glasses aren't even cold. The water was colder than the beer. They have no ice for the cold drinks. The location is great, and the service is top-notch. We enjoyed the selections of beers they offered, but the food was only average. The cheese on the White Dog Fries, in particular, had an odd texture and no real flavor. The salads we got were pretty good - though nothing special, and the burger was only so-so. I recently went in after not living in the area for about a year, to my pleasant Suprise the place hadn't changed at all!! The quality of the food and the beer was on point with some of the best I've ever had. At first, I was disappointed with the fact that I no longer knew any of the bartenders however to my pleasant Suprise I felt as though I had found a new friend in bartender Luke. I have been consistently going to white dog for about a year now, and every time I have a great experience. The dog ( as we locals call it) is a hidden gem in the Indian Creek plaza. The food is excellent having tried a majority of the menu, I still crave the French dip from time to time. Along with the food, the beer is great too, brewed locally in Boise it gives a taste of the Treasure Valley that not many people can recreate! Recently I went with my family and teammates for a post-win celebration, with a group of 20 I was worried that there might be some struggles with the service. Despite my worries, service was flawless with all the correct food being delivered in a timely manner and refreshments getting refiled thoroughly over the course of dinner. The service today was not as what it usually is when enjoying beer and food at White Dog when we normally visit. The bar was not washed off ( beer and crumbs), and when asked for a wash cloth to wipe off, the waitress asked why I needed a wash cloth; the waitress talked the majority of the time while we were there (to another employee, that was a paying customer, about dating); and the other waiter had to let her know she had food up, and when he did, she asked "I do?" (It was our food). The waiter working was great, attending and talking to customers. Surprisingly it was not busy at White Dog today as this was the first year of Hops and Crops Festival. My husband and I went to White Dog Brewing before our dinner reservations at a restaurant close by. It was our first time going. They have an amazing bar top that has an ice piece to put your drink so it doesn't get warm. For someone who hates Luke warm beverages, that was amazing! My husband got their hazy IPA and I got their raspberry lemon hard seltzer. Both were delicious. The wait staff was very nice. We chatted with a Dan and he was super friendly, answered our questions and made small talk. We decided after dinner to come back and get a night cap. Both bar tenders remembered us and seem excited to see us back. Over all it has great vibes and good drinks. We want to come back and try the food night time! read more

We enjoyed a Friday evening dinner that was exceptional. We had burgers and a French dip which were excellent. The beer was equally good with a fine Scotch Ale on nitro. Spent several hours dining and visiting. What a great option for the Caldwell scene. Next time we'll try some starters as well. Nice to have the bison burger on the menu as a more healthy option. came in for lunch on Father's Day to celebrate with my dad and husband. we could tel lit was busy and it seemed like food orders were coming out slow. after asking about service we were told only one cook and 2 servers. we waited almost 120 min for our food. We will not be coming back you can't be serving food and have it take that long especially without telling the customers it will take more than an hour for food items. Just because you can brew beer doesn't mean that you should. Coolest part of the bar is the freezer plate built into the bar top to cool your beer. Must be necessary because both times I have been there the beer was piss warm and didn't taste great. Don't expect great service or good food. Mediocre food and drink at best. read more

During the farmers market season last year, I saw a sign mentioning they were planning on opening this location. Well a few weeks ago, I was taking a stroll through Indian Creek Plaza and saw a beautiful wooden door down a long hallway. White Dog Brewing. I was all alone but what the heck - I stopped in anyway to see what it was all about. I only had beer this time but it was very good. I got the Hazy IPA. (I actually got two of them...lol). The second time, my son and I went and split some appetizers (all were very good) and had another Hazy IPA. What a great spot for a great beer. The restaurant is very spacious with tables for couples, groups and larger groups. The bar area is also very nice. I can't wait until summer when the have outdoor and patio seating. I'll be there. Absolutely most delicious beer in the valley and great food to go along with it. Love the Indian Creek Hazy IPA and the white dog fries. Definitely a go-to when we are in Caldwell. I have had mediocre service in the past but the food and drinks have always outweighed that service. But on our last visit they seemed busy and a little slow getting to people, so we were being patient. Today however, we came in, sat down and the staff passed us many times never acknowledging us. Another group came in and had their drink order taken right away. Then another group. Still no acknowledgement for us. The first group that came in after us then got their food order taken. Still no acknowledgement for us. I tried flagging down the waitress on her way to another table and was told to "hold on". That was the only greeting we had received since we walked through the door.
