I'm always looking to try something new for breakfast. Start with the Turkish coffee. It's small but mighty. $2 a cup and brewed with cardamum, it's delightful. Breakfast sandwiches (starts at $6.99 and goes up based on ingredients) were large and in charge. The combination of options met everyone's various diets and comfort: breads, proteins, and cheese choices. The eggs are made French style, with butter and cream for a decadent touch. Ful Medames ($10.99) is a hearty vegan dish of fava beans in a savory sauce with a side of the pita. The pita is thin, light, and soft. Together it's a delightful way to start the morning. This was a winner option for me. Beans for breakfast, why not? Lebanese scramble ($11.99) is served with breakfast potatoes and pita. You also get two sides of jam for the pita. It's a heavy portion with pillowy soft eggs. Ask for a side of hot sauce that comes in a little cup, not the bottled stuff. The first time we walked in, it definitely caught us a little off guard (you'll understand once you see it), but it didn't take long for this place to completely win us over. Pro tip for first-timers: the front door has a mind of its own. It sticks pretty hard--probably some weird pressure thing--so you've got to pull hard to get in and push hard to get out. Like... commit to it. Once you're inside, though, it's all worth it. The food is consistently delicious, generously portioned, and very reasonably priced. Truly zero complaints--we've never had a bad meal here. And on top of that, they offer free local delivery, which is always a huge bonus. As you'd expect from a proper deli, the menu is massive--easily dozens and dozens of sandwich options--yet somehow the service is always fast, efficient, and friendly. Even on busy days, they keep things moving without making you feel rushed. And yes, even when I only stop in a handful of times a year just to play the lotto, they're still welcoming and upbeat. Chef Usman used to also prepare homemade awarma and Sujuk. I'm now hesitating to buy awarma and Sujuk from this place. Really sad to see this happen to one of my favorite stores in the area. I guess we will have to look for another place that prepares the Turkish products the way chef Usman used to. She decided to take me there and I have to say I was really surprised. It is a Turkish market with halal meat. The gyro are chicken during the week and beef in the weekends. It was different the. The traditional gyro because it is served as a sandwich not on a pita. It also does NOT have the normal white sauce. I requested to have the chicken gyro sandwich how it would "normally " be made. It was great. We also bought bread and that was fantastic as well. Stop in and give it a try.
