Food: incredible! Two of us shared a Whole order of 11. SSAL Hot Soy fried chicken. It was served hot and fresh out of the fryer. It was mildly spicy and sweet. The breading was lightly crunchy. Absolutely perfect. The "whole" seemed like a whole chicken was cut into 12 pieces and fried. There were two of each part of the chicken. I was surprised that it came with two sides: a finely shredded cabbage with salad dressing that reminded me of a tame thousand island, and a small dish of pickled jicama. They complemented the chicken perfectly. Ambience and service: comfortable and friendly We went on a Monday night so it was almost empty. The server (and maybe owner?) brought us menus and water right away, was timely in taking our order, and attentive. The food was served fairly quick considering it was cooked to order, but naturally it took longer than a fast food place that has food waiting under heat lamps. There was music but it was quiet enough to be enjoyable during discussion. The lighting is nicely dimmed but bright enough to see everything clearly. The bathroom is easy to access and has hot water and good soap for washing the sticky deliciousness from your hands when you're done eating. The tables have bins of napkins and chop sticks so you don't have to wait for service to bring those. There was also a little bucket with a trash liner in it for chicken bones and trash. In summary, this was the best chicken I've ever eaten and I thoroughly enjoyed dining here. We will definitely be back here again. Whenever my family is in the area, we always try to eat at Kpop Rice Flour Chicken. I've gone maybe 3-4 times and I keep coming back for the chicken's crispiness and delicious sauce. Though I noticed the last time I went, the chicken wasn't as crispy as before. I'm hoping it was just a one-time fluke. Parking/Service/Ambiance: Lots of parking in the lot even on a Friday night. I appreciated that there's a call button on each table to prevent having to wave down a server. Food came out fairly quickly. Lots of indoor (only) tables and seats. There were several TVs that streamed sports games. It was nice to watch the Dodgers game while we were eating. There are 2 bathrooms and it was pretty clean. Food: -#9 Spicy Rice Cake with Ramen: great to share as appetizer. For me this wasn't too spicy and I love the flavor. -Corn Cheese: could comfortably share with 2-3 people -Ssal Hot and Spicy Chicken: half order came with 6 pieces. For someone who likes super spicy food, this wasn't very spicy to me. It's different than the Korean fried chicken that I'm used to, but it's still good. The batter is a lot thinner but keeps a crispy texture. We got two half chickens. The smaller pieces like the wing and drumsticks were really good, but some of the bigger pieces like the breasts were kinda dry. I wish they broke those up. Service was really good. I found out this was a casual place to eat at Open late night. My brother and I ate here and it was pleasant. This is overall a good hangout spot to eat casually and hang out. 5star down to 3star: So this place was a 5 star for me when I first came here. Kpop Rice Flour Chicken was contender to be #1 chicken place in my book. I have raved about it to all my friends to for sure check it out if ever in the area. Unfortunately the last time I went, i found they changed owners 4 months prior. They said nothing has changed, but unfortunately, its changed... This place started out as just a last resort delivery option on one road trip down to Socal. It was a long drive and we just couldnt find time to eat dinner at the normal times so everything was closed when we finally got hungry enough. We found a korean chicken spot that delivered to our hotel so meh, lets try it. AND OMG did we try it. Their Chicken was buttery, CRISP (not crunchy CRISPPPYY), so tender and the juices just KABOOOOOM. That experience was the 1 of the 3 most religious experiences ive had with food. We also got Jokbal (pigsfeet) and it was a great interim from the chicken, but i just kept diving back for the chicken. From that first time, everytime we went to Socal, KPOPRICEFLOURCHICKEN AT NIGHT. LETS GO! Do we always want delivery tho?? chicken gets soggy, the jokbal gets kinda dry by the time it gets to us, BUT nevertheless, still great. How many chicken places can you say has GREAT soggy chicken?? I would say the chicken is one of the best. Perfectly cooked, juicy, light batter doesnt leave you feeling bloated vs. wheat flour. Been mentioned lots here but it's really great for people on a Gluten free diet. My boyfriend especially liked it, he can't have gluten but loves Korean fried chicken. He was excited I found this place near my family home. There is none where we live in south OC so i hope they stay around for a long time. We got the original and honey garlic. Both were delicious but definitely get the honey garlic. It's so good! The garlic is fresh and has a little bit of that spicy feeling hitting your nose when eating raw garlic. I loved it. The honey sauce was subtly sweet. I ordered a side of the sweet and spicy to dip the original in. That sauce was just ok, glad I didn't get it mixed in with the chicken. Between two people we got a 12 piece with no other dishes and were able to finish the chicken. The service was ok, very minimal but straight forward. One person seated us, another brought our menu and took our order. There was a language barrier but in the end it worked out lol. They didn't really come to see if you need anything but we didn't need anything anyway. Restaurant was very clean, not that busy one a Saturday night so no wait. Fried chicken and beer seem to be all the rage in S.Korea and the USA. I decided to check it out especially since they use rice flour on their fried chicken and that's gluten free. We came around 4 pm and there was only 2 other people in there eating. I'm guessing it gets busier later in the evening. I ordered the original chicken since some of the sauces has soy in it and soy isn't gluten free. They gave us a complimentary side of cabbage with thousand island dressing. I also ordered a side of kim chi and plain rice. The chicken was crispy and tasted ok. As my Mom would say "nothing to write home about". If you are celiac or gluten free it's an great option. The lighting definitely set off a good mood with lots of tables that were well placed for intimate conversations. They have a normal selection of flavors for korean chicken, and the taste is really good too. The portions were pretty good for the price, and the chicken was really crunchy and flavorful. When ordering To-Go, it's best to let them toss the chicken in the sauce so that the wings are evenly coated with the sauce. The garlic seasoning is an option offered to orders for the whole chicken. I am gluten free (allergy) but my family is not. It's been so long since I have had fried chicken and this was amazing. I almost cried it was so good! My family loved it as well and said it was the best fried chicken they have had. I started to panic that it wasn't actually gluten free because it was so good and anyone that is gluten free knows if it's really good it likely has gluten in it.
