While I couldn't believe I was about to pay $20 for some fried rice, I have to say, this was the best fried rice I have had in the OC. It was so delicious. I plan on going back for more. We love variety, so we ordered from a couple of spots and added the Drunkin Noodles with Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice from this spot. We arrived around noon on a Sunday, just avoiding the rush and enjoyed the awesome outdoor seating. Make sure to ask for the correct amount of utensils, plates, napkins and hot sauce. The rice and noodles flavorwise were delicious, but what completely turned me off was the large amount of oil swimming at the bottom of the container. We had leftovers which we placed in our handbag, only to discover that it had leaked all over the bag and everything touching it. I was bummed when I discovered we weren't given any hot sauce, but the drunkin noodles had a decent kick of spice. I still can't believe how much oil was left in the containers. The food is delicious. I got the turmeric grilled chicken and a friend got the coconut milk chicken. When we got the food I noticed my friend's order (coconut milk chicken) had way more food than mine. The coconut milk chicken is dipped in a batter that gives it a lot of volume and substance. My order was about 1/3 of the volume of my friend's. And that's because the turmeric grilled chicken is just grilled chicken, so the meat shrinks. So between the two, I recommend the coconut milk chicken as your protein. The sauces were good for both. The turmeric chicken comes with a peanut sauce, and the coconut milk chicken comes with a sweet sauce and they compliment the meat perfectly. read more

Located on the 2nd floor of Anaheim Packing House, I went here and got the Basil Puffy Tofu with rice and kale, and a Sweet Cream Green Tea because lent. I could eat the tofu by itself with. It comes with a sweet, tart and spicy dipping sauce. You only need a little to let the flavors pop. I don't know why I got kale when I could have gotten spinach or arugula. I panicked! The kale is uncooked. It already takes forever to chew cooked kale. I'll be eating raw kale until the next lifetime. The Sweet Cream Green Tea was also a product of panic and wanting to try something different. It was good but I really like Thai tea. The line when I went was 5 people deep. You can choose from their classic menu or modern menu. Pick your base and pick your protein. Pay for your food. Wait for a few minutes to pick up your order. My food took 20 minutes to be ready. I'm a fan of food halls, because everyone can get what they please, nobody has to settle and it's a more casual vibe with a quality meal. The hubby and I both wanted Thai, so he ordered the Pad Thai with chicken hold the peanuts due to his new braces while I ordered the tangy orange chicken served with stir fried vegetables and the arugula bae salad. My husbands noodles were quite spicy but very tasty and sauced up. He was able to finish it all thanks to skipping breakfast. Not your typical Thai place. I ordered Tom Kha soup w/chicken and Pad Kra Pao steak cubes. Both were good. Pad Kra Pao was not ur typical ground meat. There were choices of steak cubes or pork belly. It is a bit pricey, but the pad kra pad had volume. The soup was small. The guy explained to me about his store/me u so he was very helpful for a 1st timer to this joint. We were in Anaheim Packing district and I had the craving for Thai food. I was excited to try this place because I love pad Thai AND mango sticky rice which is what I got here. Pad Thai-- I ordered chicken as my protein. The serving was a lot. The food was flavorful. Mango with sticky rice -- the sticky rice is blue. Basically its just food coloring. I didnt like their version of mango sticky rice because (1) they do not give you a lot of coconut syrup (2) the mango was really sour. I had to force myself to finish it because it was pricey. This Thai food place is a very unsuspecting counter service food vendor. Our favorite Thai food place is in Long Beach IYKYK. We ordered the Pad Se Ew with chicken no spice, it's nice they let you pick the spice level, we also got Honey Pork Belly and the wings. 100% everything was delicious, right down to the dressing on the salad. They have paid so much attention to each flavor of ingredient. The wings were amazing and my wife loved her Pad Se Ew. Their Thai Tea was better than I ever had, it's not Americanized. I know there's another way of eating papaya salad where you put the salad on a big leaf of cabbage and eat it that way. Probably would be more intuitive if they peeled the leaves off and stacked them instead of giving customers a whole thing of cabbage. Additionally, since it was only a quarter, the leaf was too small and made it really messy if you eat it that way. Panang Curry 4/5 - This was a pretty good and flavorful curry. It came with rice and you can choose the spiciness from 0 to 5. I got 1 which was mildly spicy. They didn't fill the container to full though, so it felt like I didn't get a lot of curry. Came to the packing house and had few different items off the menu from this restaurant. All tasted good and had no huge difference in my opinion in flavors from other thai restaurants. We were helped at the register right away as there was no line. There was no designated seating area as the whole packing house mainly has a first come first serve seating style, where restaurants only do order at register then go pick it up once ready and we find our own place to eat. Minimal seating inside but lots outside, however it is cold during winter. Recommend someone finds a spot while other goes to order/pickup food. White Elephant caught my eye because I saw Crying Tiger on the menu, but I saw the price and decided to order the Beef Panang curry. Firstly, the serving was really small considering the insane price tag on it, so be aware of that. It's to be expected since everything in Anaheim packing district is highly priced. Anyway, the actual food was pretty good. I really love all types of curry and this curry was pretty good. Good depth of flavor and the right amount of spice (you can choose levels 1-5 of spice, i got level 3) the amount of beef in the curry was a decent amount. Overall, pretty good and I was satisfied, just not worth the price on it. Service Service was pretty nice and the food was served faster than I had expected which is nice. I got their papaya salad with shrimp and a tom kha with chicken. Both portions were pretty big. I got the papaya salad mild but it still came out pretty spicy. It's suppose to come with shrimp but it was literally just two pieces of shrimp. They were good though. The salad came with a side of a huge wedge of lettuce which I didn't care for and didn't eat. It just took up a lot of space. The Tom Kha was super sweet and mostly liquid. I was upset that they filled it to the rim and gave me a dented cup. It spilled in the bag with my papaya salad and made a huge mess. I paid about $19 for both items. Pricing is pretty typically for thai food. My girlfriend I came with got their pad thai which she also couldn't finish and also enjoyed. The food took awhile but not too long. The people working were friendly. I must have walked around the entire food place two times before I decided to stop here. I asked around to all of the difference, hostesses and cashiers, and they all said that their favorite place beside their own restaurant was white elephant when I got to white elephant, I asked for their most flavorful dish, they said it was the drunken noodles I have only had drunken noodles a few times in my life and they were mediocre.
