Ravioli - most beautiful presentation & the most delicious w/ roasted beets, goat cheese and lemon w/broth of beets, horseradish & tarragon.

Lovely evening. Amazing food. Filled me with joy. I had the ravioli and my husband had the pork. Both were exquisit.

I wish I had more stars to give! It's so rare for a nice restaurant to develop delicious vegetarian food! As a vegetarian, I often feel like they just put some bland roasted vegetables on the menu to say they have an option. However, here each and every small plate was exquisite, and it took everything in me to not lick the plates! Our server was attentive. The place has simple refined decor and filled up quickly and was quite lively for a Wednesday evening. Oh and the cocktails, again wow! The rum and gin cocktails were creative and had depth unlike any I'd had before. I want their cookbook! Bring your foodie date you're trying to impress here!

We went here for date night (our 2nd time there). We made reservations for their patio, which is really nice, but it was a bit hot as our reservation was at 6pm and the sun was hitting us pretty hard. I would recommend going later in the evening during the summer. Parking is tough as it's street parking, but we found a spot no problem. For appetizers, we enjoyed the bread and butter, cheese and crackers, polenta, and tomato salad. Our favorite was the cheese and crackers, which included a beautiful homemade cracker with brie, apricot, and mustard. For drinks, we had the gin, vodka, mezcal, and tequila cocktails. My personal favorite was the vodka cocktail, which was super refreshing. For our entrees, I had the ravioli and my husband had the fish. Honestly I wasn't too big of a fan of the ravioli. It was beautifully crafted and well presented but I wasn't a fan of the texture of the pasta. My husband enjoyed his fish dish. We were too full for dessert. Every dish and cocktail was beautifully crafted and our server did a great job taking care of us. We'll definitely be back a 3rd time. Final bill came to about $170 before tip, which felt reasonable for the quality of food and portions.

Ok so being British seeing the picture of "fish and chips" on yelp had me crashing out BUT this place had great reviews and was close to the hotel so I bit my tongue And glad I did! The "fish and chips" was light and though hard to taste the fish had a good taste. Chicory salad was amazing, whatever dressing they had along with the goat cheese really hit all the right spots Vegetable tart was great along with the greens on top, not sure what it was but a single sprig contained great flavour The ravioli was mid, creamy beat, makes for a nice visual when you get into The samosas were damn good, especially the sauce on top Highlight of this was dessert which we nearly skipped on. The chocolate mousse was MELT IN YOUR MOUTH AND (more so than normal mousse) and the cream on top (I hate cream) really had me gobbling and contemplating getting another but alas my a1c scores have been making me ration Anyway, lovely , calm inside with equally calm and lovely service. Downside is the small dishes, as I said. I wanted to gobble. But if you're not a gobbler, then roll on up to arlo

We were sitting at the chef counter to see how chefs work on each plate. It's very entertaining and lots respects for those chefs & staff works hard. Food was overall very tasty, shareable size. Vodka cocktail was great. Service was on point. We will definitely back for brunch sometime soon.

This was a fun dinner! The restaurant itself is clean and cozy. Seems like a house-turned-restaurant. Very cool to see the open kitchen and the artists at work! The bread and butter was unique and very enjoyable. I loved getting rip off the layers of bread that were both flakey and soft. They actually gave us an extra appetizer of empanadas since our food was taking a while--honestly I didn't really notice it was taking long. But the empanadas turned out to be my favorite thing I ate! For my main, I got the ravioli which was good. It was flavorful and moist, but it was missing some kind of sauce and was definitely not enough food. Overall, this was a good spot that I might check out every year or so to see their updated menus and try new dishes.

Had the most delicious tostadas for brunch. The service and the atmosphere was great and the place was clean.

The food was all incredibly balanced in taste and texture. The bread was delicious, but everything else was better. The beets were so good and so different than I've ever had, a lot of love went into that dish. The risotto tasted like spring and was very filling. The citrus custard was very good, but I could have used more custard or less tangerine jam. It was an exciting meal for my taste buds.

Everything was very well done and well presented with very unique flavors. I appreciate that nothing on the menu was exactly like a dish I had ever had before. My favorite was the risotto, so savory and flavorful, especially if you like mushrooms! We also got the duck ravioli, fish and chips, two different salads, cheese and crackers, bread and butter, vegetable tart, and empanadas. I enjoyed the whiskey drink very much but did not like the rum one (too sweet). And thank you for the wonderful birthday dessert!

Service was great, food was good and the atmosphere on the patio was gorgeous and cool. great for date night or girls night out. I got the elevated crackers and cheese and the beet salad.

A minimalist atmosphere paired with genuinely delightful service set the tone for a wonderful brunch. We made reservations and ordered the pot pie, chocolate tart, and cinnamon roll, while my husband chose the breakfast sandwich. Both main dishes were exceptional. The chef's thoughtful play on ingredients and textures truly stood out, with flavors that felt both precise and deeply satisfying. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was beautifully, intentionally plated clearly made with passion and skill. Thank you for such a memorable experience.

So happy that I discovered this absolute hidden gem of a restaurant during my short stay in SLC!! (Disclaimer: by hidden gem, I'm referring to its unassuming location in a residential neighborhood and reservations being wide open on a Saturday night... but it's otherwise very evident that Arlo is widely renowned for top tier dining among local foodies). I was impressed by each and every dish that we ordered, which was painstakingly prepared with stellar presentation and top-notch quality of ingredients. The composition of each platter was very thoughtful, with disparate ingredients skillfully paired together creating one unique flavor and texture experience after another. My favorite dish of the night was the stuffed rainbow trout, but I would also highly recommend the seafood stew as well as the bread and butter. Between the two of us, we shared 2 appetizers and 2 of their "small plates" (actually reasonably portioned) and left feeling satiated not stuffed. Highly, highly recommend Arlo for a fine-dining experience minus the fine dining price tag. Perfect for a nice date night or special occasion, but they also serve breakfast which unsurprisingly has rave reviews as well. Pro-tip: they have a dedicated parking lot that is below the restaurant -- next to their outdoor patio, you have to drive below ground and parking spots are typically wide open as the lot is pretty lowkey/not well-demarcated and everyone is usually trying to find street parking, which can be a challenge as the neighborhood is pretty hilly with a lot of traffic at nighttime.

    "Chef MILO"

I can't tell you how terrible our experience was at Arlo Saturday night july 18th. Our server couldn't speak because he was at a concert the week before, he also pestered us every five minutes to get our order in, and then Put our dinner order in with the appetizers so we got them all at the same time, all the food was awful. The flavors were not marrying together at all, this chef MILO needs a slap upside the head, his food isn't good. The recipes aren't good. The cabbage was edible, but we had to bring in our own wine, their list is bad. I don't know how to say this, it if you don't have good service, food or beverages, you will get a one star review......you need a restaurant manager there at all times to make sure it's all running smoothly. You need a lot of help. ANd Milo, you need to get a helmet and wear it daily because if you can't take criticism you need to get out of the food scene.

Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and exactly the right amount of present (if you know what I mean). I enjoyed the maitake on rice with cashew cream and it was delicious. The salty mushrooms were mellowed by the chewy rice. The cashew cream gave a nice variation in texture. I didn't leave a morsel behind. The harissa carrots were nice as well. They are cooked soft and have a moderate spice level that is again contrasted by the mild labneh and tahini base. I had to save the rolls with herb better for last. Oh. My. God. These were divine. I'm a sucker for bread of any kind but these are what the Hawaiian dinner rolls wish they could be. They are perfectly pillowy and the herb butter just elevates them. Do not miss these for more "sophisticated" fare. If I lived here, I would definitely come back. Everything was considered and well-executed. Bravo

Like many people, we were excited to dine at a restaurant led by a chef who has beaten Bobby Flay. We arrived for our 8:15 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly. Unfortunately, from that point on, the service became increasingly confusing. Our server seemed flustered from the beginning and even commented that she wanted to make sure everything was right for our experience. When ordering drinks, I asked for a root beer and was told they had one. A few minutes later I was informed they actually didn't and was given a Dr Pepper instead. No big deal--I didn't want to make an issue of it. The bigger problems started with the food service. There were three of us. Two ordered the filet, and one ordered the chicken. The first entrées brought to our table weren't ours at all and had to be taken away. When our actual meals arrived, they were still mixed up. I was served the chicken despite ordering the filet. The same thing happened with dessert. We ordered two Baked Alaskas and one Lemon Cake. Again, the desserts were delivered to the wrong people. These weren't major issues individually, but when they happen repeatedly throughout one meal, it takes away from what should have been an outstanding dining experience. Now for the positive... The kitchen absolutely delivered. The filet was cooked perfectly. The chicken was outstanding. Presentation was beautiful. The Baked Alaska was one of the best I've had. The food easily earns five stars. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience did not. To make matters worse, after I finished the Dr Pepper that I hadn't originally ordered, my glass sat empty for roughly 45 minutes. No refill was offered, and I eventually had to ask for another beverage while dessert was being served. One final observation... The receipt included an optional surcharge for the back-of-house staff. I understand it could be removed upon request, but I don't believe guests should be placed in the position of deciding how restaurant employees are compensated. Pay your team well, price the menu accordingly, and let guests simply enjoy their meal. Urban Hill has one of the most talented kitchens I've experienced in quite some time. If the service can reach the same level as the food, this restaurant would easily deserve five stars.

However, additional details create a loving connection - it's off-Broadway central location, the copper-paneled ceiling that mimics warm conversations in varied spaces (cocktail, chef's counter, expandable tables for groups, and outdoor), fresh, locally-sourced ingredients with service to match. It's the place where I had my first glass of Turley Zinfandel (education alongside), and the place I will always return for my favorite Wagyu Beef Stroganoff (a comfort from home, but upscale). This one delivered with large, firm, expertly seasoned portobello & forest mushrooms over wide, freshly handmade pappardelle pasta that soaks up rich beef stock (a touch of black pepper) blended with crème fraîche. A generous portion of wagyu is tender and rich. PRO TIP: Mix then let it sit & marinade a minute - flavor pays in dividends. For dessert, a Valhrona Chocolate Pudding topped with whip cream and Maldon flake salt - exquisite, but expensive. The texture is comforting and delicious - olive oil adds a lingering finish with slight fruit.

I informed her that we had a reservation under my name, John, but she simply looked at her list, seemed annoyed, and told us to wait anyway. While we were waiting, we watched several parties of two arrive after us with reservations at 8:10, 8:15, and even 8:20, and they were seated before us. After waiting about 20 minutes, I went back to ask how much longer it would be. I was told it would be another 20 minutes. I reminded Carleigh that we had a reservation, and her response was, "Oh, you did?" She then asked for my full name and phone number, looked up the reservation, apologized, and immediately escorted us to a table that appeared to have been ready the entire time. This was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Reservations are made so guests don't have to wait behind people who arrive later. It felt like our reservation had been completely ignored until I spoke up a second time. Whether this was poor organization or a lack of attention, the level of service at the front desk was unacceptable. We came looking forward to a nice family dinner, but the experience started with unnecessary frustration and left a very poor first impression. I sincerely hope additional training is provided so this doesn't happen to other guests.
