I wasn't entirely pleased at the cost of just the service call (~$100) but realized that it takes into account the knowledge of the tech and the rising costs of everything. The gentleman called to let me know he'd be at my home in about 20 minutes, and was early into my two-hour block of time. Well our gas fireplace has not worked for over 4 weeks. I have called John at his phone number being provided to me of 585-301-6209 several times, and left messages for him to call me back and to get our gas fireplace operating. He has not returned any of my telephone calls and while his scheduler confirmed my appointment with John for October 29, 2020 between 4 and 5 pm, he did not show up or even have the courtesy to contact me. We paid John $160 in September 2020. Heritage Fireplaces of Rochester NY (315-986-7415) was our main and first contact and they engaged J.E. B. to repair our gas fireplace on September 28, 2020. However when I talked to Wayne, the owner of Heritage on October 30/31, he told me that his company had no responsibility for my fireplace not working after John of JEB supposedly repaired it, because John is just a repair person they use and Wayne said is not an employee of Heritage. So my most recent telephone message to John was on November 2, 2020 and he has not contacted me and I believe he will not contact me. Just be very careful about engaging John of J.E.B.

I sent specific information on the machine and the problem. This is a newer model machine as well. The first tech that was sent over told me that he didn't work on these machines and kind of stood around and then gave up. This was not impressive. However, a different tech came the following day (Andres). And, he was able to take the machine apart and find the origin of the leak. The replacement parts were ordered. And, I was happy to see Andres a few weeks later with the replacement parts. He showed us the problem (a hole and crack in the detergent dispenser ... On a new machine) and replaced it in about an hour and a half. We were the 10th appointment of the day according to the appointment tracker. And he was still efficient and polite. So, while it was a rough start. I'm happy to say it got better!
