Great meal..I enjoyed the Cod served with lobster risotto.. Would have preferred the sauce to be less buttery... However, the combination of flavors and textures of fish (cod was cooked perfectly) was very fresh and tasty. We really enjoyed the warm cider donuts with caramel sauce and icecream for dessert! This review was from 2 years ago, but was in a draft for a while and never published til now... Setting was very nice...we grabbed a table (1 of 3) on the outdoor patio. Not many folks there when we arrived. Service was surprisingly slow. Waitress must have been new and brought water, but didn't offer us drinks or a drink menu. There wasn't a separate menu for kids, but she indicated there was noodles w/butter for the kids. I ordered a lobster taco for an appetizer and it was outstanding and a bacon cheeseburger that was just ok. The condiments they put on top severely detracted from the taste and thus I couldn't finish the top of the bun. Hamburger itself was ok. I ordered a white beer that was very good except the permanent piece of food stuck to the glass. In other meals, we ordered scallops, which had a very tasty sauce. Additionally, the strawberry shortcake was good. Oddly, the Only time the waitress checked on us was 10 seconds after we received our food. The prices were on the high side for New Hampshire fare and we overheard the family next door complaining about the service. All in all I would say 3-3.5 stars was the grade. read more

WOW! This is THE place to go for a delicious meal. The food was phenomenal, the staff was lovely- kind, knowledgable, and very polite. It's a small place and reservations are hard to come by so I highly suggest calling ahead of your stay to set a reservation. We called on Saturday afternoon and couldn't get a reservation until 9pm Sunday. We got there at 8 to have a drink while we waited for our table but was actually quickly sat. It is such a cozy, warm environment that I can imagine is even more welcoming in the cold winter. You will LOVE the Cider Co! read more

Great food and service, good drinks and interesting decor (set in an old farmhouse) made for a fully enjoyable evening. The menu was small but had a wide variety offerings with selections from local farms and streams along with fresh ingredients brought in daily from the Atlantic Ocean. Everyone in our group which ranged from 7 to 77 found something they liked and left happily stuffed. Next time we will need to leave more room for desert. read more

My husband ordered the NY strip, it was very charred and still had large pieces of unrendered fat. I ordered the porcini pasta, it was earthy and creamy, as you would expect, but it didn't blow me away and the chicken was a little dry. The vegetable of the evening was Brussel sprouts, which I'm usually a fan of, but they seemed practically raw. Their hot cider was however, some of the best cider I've had in a long time. read more

We went to the White Mountain Cider Co. based on a recommendation. We were disappointed to say the least. We ordered two appetizers, the calamari and the olives. The calamari had no taste and the olives were served warm which was very weird. Our entree's were ok, nothing to brag about. Service was slow. We ordered the cider donuts for dessert and after waiting 20 minutes for them our waitress came over and handed us our check. We reminded her that we ordered dessert and she said "Oh sorry, you know its really busy in here I forgot" We waited another 15 minutes for 3 little stale donuts with ice cream. My wife and i had a fantastic meal here tonight. We had eaten here last year and we were saving this as a reward for a week of hiking and biking in the White Mountains. The meal surpassed our expecations. Every bite was delicious from the potato chip appetizer with garlic aioli, to the cider salad and the fantastic entrees of chicken and duck. For dessert we had the berry crisp with homemade ice cream. This dessert was much better than the more popular cider donuts and ice cream we had last year. The service was attentive and helpful when needed. I would highly recommend this restaurant. As good as any meal we have had at good restaurants in Boston or NYC. read more

Very quaint small town restaurant with outstanding food, and impeccable service -Rob is a great bartender...he makes great recommendations and can make any drink to your liking. When you arrive do not be deterred by the curb appearance - You may wonder if it is even a restaurant but let me tell you it is one of the best...I can't say enough about the food...it was to die for...had the duck which was cooked perfectly and the wonton appetizer cooked in truffle oil. Had the cider donuts and ice cream for dessert...will absolutely go back next time we are in the area. Excellent restaurant. Doesn't look like much from outside but inside it is a nice country setting. Good bar area and farm house style restaurant. We were half hour early for our reservation and they sat us right away. Food is all locally sourced and very original. Cheese board is awesome to start and the braised pork in cider was just right on a cold snowy night. The cider donuts in with ice cream looked delicious but we were full at that point. We celebrated our daughter's 20th birthday here after a day of XC skiing and had a great experience! The restaurant is small and cozy but not over-crowded. Everyone at the tables around us seemed to be having lots of fun. Three of us started with cocktails from the very creative bar menu and really enjoyed each of them. We then moved on to a giant platter of their renowned potato chips with three different sauces (garlic aioli, gorgonzola and "loaded") which disappeared in a flash, followed by one of each salad. The warm shaved brussels sprouts with browned butter were to die for, and the crispy shallots atop the Cider Mill salad with pecans and apples were a crunchy surprise. Two of us had the spiced cider braised pork with pumpkin pasta and kale (yum!), one had the butternut squash canneloni, one had hanger steak and another had mac 'n cheese -- all were absolutely delighted! Of course we finished off with the apple cider donuts topped with ice cream and caramel sauce -- delicious! We could not have been happier with our meals or the service! This review will be about service rather than food. We waited for several minutes to be waited on only to be ignored and have people that came in after us get waited on first. We were in the Cidermill portion and wanted to purchase donuts. We were rather disgusted and left. Not sure we will ever revisit if this is the type of service we can expect. It also disappointed us that the people that were waited on did not let them know that we had been there waiting long before they arrived. So much for human nature in today's world. read more

We went here Sat., 5/28/16 to celebrate our anniversary. My hubby had the crab cakes and he said they were the best he ever had. I had the 1/2 salad which was great. The hubby had a pasta chicken dish which was delicious. I had a beef dish which the beef was a little fatty but the gratin potato was delicious. I was gonna order the same as my hubby but decided to try something different. The bartender was super--a beer on tap was empty which didn't fill the glass and he didn't charge us. This was classy and we were impressed how professional he handled this. He really made the night!We will revisit again and I will order the pasta chicken dish if available. read more

There were too many large groups seated in the dining area where we were, and we could clearly hear neighboring conversations while we struggled to hear each other. We ate here two evenings ago, and, as usual, the food was great. We started with the famous chips with 3 sauces and had enough to bring home for the next day. I wish they served a half order of the chips; one order is enough for 4 people. They did warm up nicely at home the next day. I ordered the 1/2 green salad, and he had the beet salad. Both were wonderful. His entree of the cod was moist and flavorful. My Mediterannean chicken sandwich, I must admit, wasn't as good as I remembered from a previous visit. Perhaps they have changed the recipe, and the greens that came with it were enough for a salad. I needn't have ordered the other salad. However, I brought home 1/2 of the sandwich and the greens for the next day's lunch, and both were very tasty. We didn't have room for dessert, but maybe next time. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. We had wanted to sit at one of the high top tables in the bar (in front of the real wood fireplace), but when we arrived, we realized they were right in the middle of the traffic pattern, so we were seated at a table in the pretty dining room where we have eaten before. read more

The best restaurant in the MWV! Quality ingredients and creative, expert cooking. There are tempting (pricier) entrees, but my family opted for burgers, which were delicious (they're topped with thick-cut bacon and cheddar). Vegetarians will be happy too....I had a quinoa burger with goat cheese, spinach and mushrooms on a brioche bun. As frequent visitors to the area, we were looking for a new place to try for dinner. We chose White Mountain Cider Company after reading numerous great reviews. We were not disappointed. Service was impeccable, and the atmosphere terrific. The menu included several innovative dishes using seasonal, local ingredients. Our server was very knowedgable about the menu items and happy to make recommendations. The only issue we had was that my dinner was only lukewarm when it arrived. The server apologized and returned it to the kitchen, and the chef made a new plate for me. I was offered soup or salad while waiting, even though the new dish was prepared quickly. When my new plate came, I noticed that it did not contain walnuts as the first one had. Turns out the chef had noticed that I'd pushed the walnuts aside on the first plate and correctly surmised that I don't care for them (if the dish's description included walnuts I missed it). Kudos to the chef for noticing! STRONGLY recommend reservations. We had a 5PM reservation. By the time we left, the wait was over an hour for those who did not have reservations. We will definitely go back the next time we're in the area! read more

I came here for dinner with a group of 6 in September. Normally I don't like to spend $10 on a cocktail that either tastes like medicine or juice, but my cidertini was tasty and different, so I didn't mind this time. As we waited, we got little samples of hot cider, which was a nice touch. We were recommend the chips, which came out in a huge portion, and enjoyed each of the three different toppings (in the sampler). My ginger-cider braised pork was a really hearty meal, and worth the price. The ambiance throughout the restaurant was nice and rustic, but the best part of our experience was that our group got seated in the private upstairs loft. It was the extra touch that made our experience even more special. We went back to the store the next morning for the cider donuts... also delicious! read more

My husband and I were camping in the area. Roughing it was nice, but we felt like a king and queen enjoying such quality food and service. These people are passionate about delicious-ness. This was the second time my husband and I visited White Mountain Cider Company during a trip to North Conway, and WOW- what an experience we had. The food here is beyond incredible. The bread basket itself was the perfect appetizer (though if we had been willing to stuff our bellies a little more, we would have gone for the lobster risotto with vanilla bean mascarpone!) My husband got the bacon Gorgonzola pork chop with rosti potato (who doesn't love a giant hash brown?) and I got the duck- served over a sweet potato duck confit hash with pomegranate sauce. Both were easily among the best meals we've ever had. The taste combinations were brilliant and we truly savored every mouthful. We were too full for dessert, but really want to try the house-made cider donuts with vanilla ice cream next time! The wine list was extensive, our waiter was friendly and attentive, and it was a nice touch when the owner came by to check in. Not to mention, the cozy fire and dim lighting made for the perfect escape from the cold and snow. We can't wait to return to this hidden gem nestled in the White Mountains! read more

I go hiking in the White Mountains a few times a year, and always try to stop here. This is a classy place with well dressed diners, but they still always welcome me kindly in my muddy hiking boots and worn out clothes. The table by the fireplace is just out of the world comfy and nce, the appetizers are creative and delicious, the wine and beer choice is excellent despite being small, and I even occasionally have a cocktail (which I rarely do) because theirs are so well thought out and mixed. Greeted by a friendly lady asked to be seated earlier than reservation and they did with no issues. The server Julie was always there when we needed her and the homemade chips are a hit.
