My first suspicion about this place is that most of the people who have given it glowing reviews, don't review much. Our next clue was that when I ordered my burger, they didn't ask for preferred temperature. We ordered take out and at least 3 things were missed on the order. It would have been 4 but my hubby caught one. Our food was ready in a reasonable time. My daughter liked her hot wings a my husband felt his pretzel sticks were okay. Someone else I know had them and said they were still frozen in the middle. Avoid the red pepper ketchup. It's basically salsa and has no flavor AT all! My burger was dead (gray all the way thru) and I didn't finish it. We are willing to try them again once they have their grand opening but they still have a TON of kinks to work through. I'm here on business. I love to try new, locally owned places, especially when they are veteran owned. I'd read the reviews on Yelp and was hesitant to try it; because they were all five star or two-one star. That usually means lovers (friends and family) and haters. Box space in a strip mall. Initial impressions: Not sure if it's a sports bar, taxidermy, or an ale house. No decor/ambiance. Almost 100% young military guys, some with wives (not a bad thing at all) when I arrived at 6:30PM. I asked to sit at the bar and was immediately told "there are open seats, go right ahead." It was very loud and too much echo. Concrete floors, high ceilings and sleek walls will do this. I think some hanging partitions and wall decorations would baffle the sound a bit. I took a seat, and was promptly offered a drink and food menu. (I initially declined the food menu to see what would happen if I wanted to order later). Barkeep introduced herself and then tended to others. She came back, took my order, and poured my drink within four minutes (I was timing after the reviews I'd read). I then asked for a menu. I ordered fries ($4) at 6:46PM. They arrived at 6:52PM. They were fresh cut and fried well. My only complaint is they were only salted from the top, after they were placed in their paper cone. The potatoes on the bottom didn't have any seasoning. So, my impression? KEEP: I love the choice of beer. I enjoyed my barkeep. Alex has good conversational skills and pays attention. Keep her! The fries were good. Price point for my fries was on scale for what I'd pay in Dallas or Oklahoma City. I liked that the owner was available to talk. Thank you for discussing your operations, setbacks and plans! IMPROVE: This is short because I only tried the fries, but season ALL of the potatoes, not just the top of the order. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do something about the echo/reverberation. Been a while since we had eaten here, so we decided to have a date night at WOAH. We arrived about 6:30pm, the there were only six or so others in the restaurant, which I found surprising, this place used to be much fuller. We were quickly greeted and sat down. We placed our drink and appetizer order. Waitress offered a sample of the two beers I was considering, which was cool. They didn't have one of the dipping sauces listed on their menu for the appetizer, but we were able to find a substitute. When the waitress brought me the pint of beer I ordered, it was the wrong one, I didn't make an issue out of it as it was a good beer, so it worked out. Food was disappointing. The chicken I had was tough, the veggies were standard frozen and reheated. The mashed potatoes were not even close to being firm, it was a wet slop all over my plate. My wife had the coconut scallops, there wasn't even a hint of coconut in there and the scallops were only seared on one side. Not sure if I would go back after this experience, this place used to be so good! If I do go back, it won't be for a while. read more

Late with my review but it's still relevant. Went in with my wife a few months ago and waitress just looks and, walks by a number of times so I asked for a menu and water. She looked at me and said "I'm not your server but I'll get your water". I'm thinking ok, maybe we'll get some help now? No, we did not. Finally I asked again and an older woman came to our table and acted like we were inconveniencing her. By this time I had had enough. We finished our beer. And told waitress we like to close our tab. As I walked up to this place I knew I would not be disappointed simply by the greetings they put in their windows. The restaurant was very clean and pretty great views to the TVs from all seats. Service: I was greeted as soon as I walked in and chose to sit at the bar. I was greeted within 2 minutes with a food menu and beer list. The bartender gave me an acceptable time to review the drink menu and provided suggestions and recommendations. Food- overall the menu selections were pretty good. Seems they have something for everyone. My meal- Appetizer: I ordered the fried avocado. I received my appetizer in great time- it was hot and absolutely delicious. Entree: I ordered the WOAH Fab burger- It was perfectly cooked and the sweet potato fries were hot crispy and the server suggested a Tabasco honey as a dipping sauce. I was super impressed with the flavor combination of this pairing. Beer list: super great beer selection. I ordered a mead cider to start- moonlight mead wry blueberry cider. It's strong but amazing flavor profile. Then I ordered 4 flights of different IPAs and all were pretty great. All suggestions from the bartender- only told him my go to beer list and he did not disappoint. This is my first time visiting White Oak Ale House but I will definitely be coming back on my next business trip. If you ever travel to enterprise Alabama I recommend stopping here. read more

While somewhat pricey, White Oak Ale House is an awesome restaurant in Enterprise, AL! The WOAH Burger is amazing and the fries are next level. Also, the soft pretzel appetizer is great. I came here weekly with friends to play trivia on Wednesday nights and always had a great time. They have a pretty good selection of beers, including local craft beers and beers from all around the world. I would give it five stars, but the prices are a bit too high for the quality of food/drinks. I like White Oak Ale House and will definitely go back next time I'm in Enterprise. read more

Really not impressed with the environment or food. It was like they really didn't know what theme they wanted to go with in there. On one wall it's safari themed, another has a bunch of taxidermic little critters. All the tables are metal and high top. Just really didn't feel like somewhere you could kick back and relax. I am a world traveler and love to find unique spots in different parts of the country. So far Enterprise, Alabama has not shown me luck. A friend and I ate at White Oak and was very underwhelmed. Service was lousy- waitress hair was messy- she was wearing leggings and her top.. just didn't give any kind of vibe for the restaurant except for "this is SUPER casual" if they can all dress sloppy. Drinks were weak- Food was not very good .. I had the Bison Burger (jalapeño crusted ?? This is for sure false advertising- it had one small jalapeño ring on it. The ciabatta bun tasted as if it came out of a bag you would buy at a store.. was not fresh/soft and very well may have been frozen at some point. The vegetables were certainly frozen from a bag. My friend got the pasta.. slightly misleading- toasted ravioli felt more like fried ravioli- and the wine cream sauce was very different and not sure how we felt about it. Definitely did not have a wine feel- more like weird curry...? I would never order it again, and just ate it because it wasn't horrible. The service was very slow considering there was no one in the restaurant. Took about 10 to 15 minutes to get our beers but they were good. It took two hours for our food to come out. The waitress messed up the orders and then kept giving explanations on why she messed up the orders or how it was not her fault. I only give 2 stars because the owner is such a beautiful and awesome lady! My wife and myself were regulars at their first restaurant, Frogz, 12 years ago. When we moved back to the area, we were saddened to hear that they closed down the original restaurant and opened white oak. We went in today for our Valentine's Day dinner and the setting was awesome. They waitress was super nice as well as everyone else. My problem was, we ordered an app of crab claws sautéed and they came out cold. Great flavor but cold. The beer I ordered, the keg was tapped. They had a special for "braised" short ribs over polenta. The flavoring was good but when I think of braised short ribs, I think of fall off the bone. This was far from it. All together with drinks and food for the two of us, it was 103 bucks. And we were not really impressed. I feel like we wasted a bit of money in stuff we did not eat. read more

My wife had the crab cake sliders and I tried the pulled pork sliders: both were awesome and the beer battered potato wedges were a perfect accompaniment. If you can't handle the "utterly absurd" list of unwelcome people, you probably don't belong in this kind of place. Charlie the bar tender gave us suggestion and could speak intelligently to eat menu item which was awesome. They are still under a soft opening but you wouldn't know it! My husband and I went last night great selection of beer on tap. The menu is still limited for food items during the soft opening but I had the Jasmine burger which was out of this world and my husband had fish and chips which was also tasty! Hands down the best burger in Enterprise! And well within my top 10 for best burgers of all time, and I consider myself a burger connoisseur. I can't remember the name of the burger, but it was topped with a gooey egg, tomato chutney and sat on top of fresh spinach. It really doesn't matter which burger you have the meat is excellent. Their food reminds me of the upscale restaurants you would find in major metropolitan areas, which is nice to find around the Enterprise/Fort Rucker area. I will continue to frequent the white oak to try the beer cheese, crab cake Monday's and fish taco Tuesday's. read more

We love coming here for brunch! Peach mimosa is delicious! Also, the food is super yummy! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is the service. We've had good service, okay service and horrible service. The last time we went in for brunch the host sat us and we waited for about 20-25 minutes for someone to at least acknowledge us. Waitresses/bartenders was a total of 4 floating around and not one glanced our way. After the same waitress repeatedly walked by us we finally had to stop her and ask if someone could take our order. Husband and I came in here over the weekend for a celebratory evening with a friend. We started with the fried pickles, and they were good - the only thing consistent from our previous visit. Though the current beer list was a bit underwhelming (maybe a handful of unfamiliar ones), it was still nice to be able to get some of the ones on tap that we often buy bottled/canned. This was only our second visit, and I was bored looking at the menu, trying to figure out what I wanted to eat. I'd actually classify most of their items as typical bar food. There just really isn't much unique enough there that warrants WOAH being called a gastropub. Husband and I both ended up ordering the exact same thing, the WOAH burger, medium well, with the IPA mustard dipping sauce for the fries (same thing I got the first time we went). Our friend got the burger also, rare, and asked for the red pepper and tomato ketchup, but our server advised that they no longer serve it. So when our burgers came out, the first thing I noticed was that they were on pretzel buns. The menu states it is served on brioche, which was actually WHY I decided to go with the burger as opposed to any other entree. The menu also states that the fries are hand-cut, which I remember them being at our last visit. This time, however, they were jo-jo potato wedges, of which the batter and uniformity suggested frozen, commercial pre-packaging. WOAH clearly needs to do some updating to its menu. To be fair, all of it looked and tasted good enough, but the burgers were so drenched in grease and sauces that they were just an f'ing mess to eat. Every single one of them. The bottom part of the buns were a soggy disaster. Mine literally had a steady drip of afore-mentioned liquids onto the table. Worth $13? Not so much. Additionally, the service was lackluster, and our server never even told us what the specials were, which I noted with disappointment as we walked past the specials board on the way out. I hadn't noticed it when we came in. Honestly, I wish we had gone elsewhere and left our first impression alone. We'll probably be back for drinks but never again for food. read more

Seeing servers and staff sitting at the bar while we are waiting to place a drink order is disheartening. And than watching the same servers ignore patrons waiting for 10-15 minutes for just a table. We ordered * waited 30 minutes for our food. The food was cold. My pizza was as if it had been made at lunch and I was just eating leftovers at $17.00. A very average experience... The beer and cider was tasty but was not served cold. The food was unique for this area, but lacked quality. Good service but waitstaff must have been overwhelmed because our dirty appetizer plates stayed on the table until the bill was dropped. No one checked on us until the end. Bathroom was clean, but for a restaurant with this many Friday night customers, there should be more than one restroom per gender (tough to do in a stripmall, I know). They were understaffed and you could hear the staff swearing and complaining about how busy they were. I get it, it stinks to be understaffed, but you have to be professional.
