It's on an under construction road at the moment and the location throws you off. I've been here before when I was a college student attending CSUF and took my family here recently (my father got a new record player and wanted to get some records). At first glance they were put off at first, but I assured them they had some gems and a diverse selection. They have plenty new, which costs about $22. Used vinyls start at $4 and, depending on the record, can go up to $20+. Their hip hop section is pretty small. Come here if you're looking for rock, blues, jazz, world or indie. This is the best record store I've been in so far. The service is great-Thanks, Brian! So much classic rock and other genres like international vinyls. In 30 minutes, I took home 10 lp's. The records are clean. I didn't have to clean it like I normally would. The prices are cheap. For ex., the George Harrison-Best of Dark Horse was only $8 here. The vinyl is clean, no scratches. I would grade it as Excellent to NM. On Ebay, the cheapest one is $34! I scored on that one. Too bad, this record store is too far away from me. Cool little record store and record label. My new favorite band Puzzle (strange name but awesome music) had a record released by Burger Records and I bought that today. That's actually the first vinyl record I've ever purchased. I like the cats that hang out in the store and the employees are welcoming and nice. I would give this place 5 stars if it were remodeled a little and didn't smell like marijuana. Not to be mean but the place looks kinda rundown inside. My friend and I were really craving some record shopping and saw that this place was open! Before you enter, there is hand sanitizer and rubber gloves, which we really appreciated. We spent a lot of time digging through a pretty cool and well organized collection. They also have plenty of $1 bins which is sweet. I love this record store! It's so chill! I always walk out with a couple of gems. The staff there are really chill and friendly. You can tell they love working there. They have a variety of vinyls and vhs's, there's even vintage clothing and items, you basically never know what cool item you'll walk out with. I love the atmosphere in there and the fact that sometimes they have a band playing in the store. I totally recommend coming here if you love music and vinyls as much as I do. Burger Records has been around for a few years now, and I've been a patron ever since they opened. Considering that it's located in Orange county, I was impressed with their selection of vinyl. However, time has passed and Burger has greatly declined. My biggest gripe about Burger is their prices: everything here is at least five dollars more than it should be. Whereas you are likely to find Culture Club in a dollar bin, Burger sells them for $6. However, their "rarer" vinyl is overpriced to a higher percentage. For example, take Quiet Sun's "Mainstream." This is a record that I have seen for a dollar at numerous record swaps and is easily attainable online for around $5. For some reason, Burger believes this is a very rare record and has it priced at $40. That's just ridiculous. Tied into their pricing problem is Burger's selection. They just don't move vinyl like they would like to, and they have accumulated too many records for the store to handle. Looking through the world/reggae/exotica rows is difficult because they are packed in very tight (damages the vinyl, btw). Any other store would put the record on sale after a certain amount of time, why would you keep records that don't sell and are taking up valuable store space? Burger doesn't do this. They have had the same copy of Bardo Pond's "Peri" (another overpriced $40 record) every since I visited the store some three years ago. My last big gripe about Burger is that they sell records in shoddy condition a full price. I can't tell you how many times I've spotted a great record with scratches, water damaged or torn sleeves, etc. Dead Can Dance's "Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun" is one that comes to mind. They often get copies of it in bad shape and charge at least $20 for it. With all that said, there is always the possibility that you'll score a deal here. I have on numerous occasions, but it has become a less frequent occurrence. I once considered Burger the best record store in the OC, but it has become a shell of itself only identical in name. read more

Old stuff, new stuff, cheap stuff and even some super duper rare stuff. Knowledgeable owners who will tell you whats up. I did a quick search for record stores near CSUF, and this spot was top of the list. My entrance was greeted by the aroma of a very particular plant which is widely celebrated in California. This isn't the biggest record store you're going to wander into, but what they excel in here is stocking some choice records that aren't so easily found elsewhere. Like any good store, they've got a nice selection of wall hangers up front. I spied more than a few hard-to-find LPs that were going for good prices. In the bins, you'll probably find a good dozen or so records if you have a wide range of tastes. Their soundtrack section, though only a mere three bins wide, had a solid diversity of titles. On my way out, there was a young-ish lady sitting outside who asked if I wanted to smoke weed with her. Right there. On a school chair. In front of the store. I had previously overheard her asking anyone who walked by if they knew where a motel with $40/night rooms was within walking distance. Clearly, she wasn't from around here. I didn't feel like acquiring any number of diseases, so I politely declined. read more

It might not be a big place, but for its size they have a decent selection of used vinyls and at a reasonable price. I generally never leave empty handed! There are also a few friendly cats chilling in the store, if you don't mind or have any allergies. Definitely will be going back. What I say here won't matter whether it smells like weed or is hard to get to because of the damn st. College Blvd construction.... whatever, people who bitch find stuff to bitch about. My point is this, if you are on the fence about trying this record store out but are worried about getting to it because of road closures or you get all uppity when something smells suspicious, then not only is this store not for you vinyl records probably isn't either. Stick to iTunes, albeit if you really want good records regardless to the less than troubling journey (sidestepping "pot" hole ) then here's your spot, Burger is not a burnout record store... These young(ish) guys genuinely love music and do not judge anyone's tastes you never know what you will hear when you walk in and what you will hold when you walk out. Burger is Non-Judging Knowledgeable Record Store pros with great prices for sale and offer more than amoeba or anyone else around. Some friends of mine took me here due to the fact that it's right around the corner from my house. I'm absolutely coming back because there's a rare Smiths single there right this second that I absolutely must have. Also, i forgot to see what they had in the New Order section when I was there. Anyways, if you're into new stuff or CDs, it might not be your place but, if you like obscure, shoegaze, punk or other hard to find music, this is totally for you. Burger Records has a great selection of used vinyl, with an emphasis on classic rock. The classical and jazz section is much smaller in comparison. The overall quality of vinyl is pretty clean. I love burger records! It's such a mellow environment and I really enjoy the variety of music the staff plays while you're busy shopping. I have this rule where everytime I go in I ask an employee to recommend a $2 album for me to buy. They have yet to fail me. I've browsed through every genre and all of the two dollar section. The only reason I found out about this place was because Julian Casablancas decided to have a super intimate meet and greet here and man I'm happy he did! First of all the staff are SO SO SO NICE (SHOUT OUT TO BOBBY). super chill. like you wanna be best friends with these people. They're super helpful too and the selection WOOOO amazing... i got to check out a lot of records while i was in line for an hour and a half and wanted everything (REALLY good prices) sadly my commute was 4 hours (cough and got a speeding ticket cough) but i go to Disneyland a lot so I can't to stop by this shop in the near future when it's less crazy and actually buy some dope records I have your sticker on my laptop too :3 I highly recommend this place. Cool little shop, My brother recommended that we check this place out for vinyl. the location kind of stinks like I would never have found this place on accident. It is in an industrial area far from everything, on a street that is undergoing major construction (State College) but it is worth while to go check it out. So Buttercup and I stop in and the place is small, but they have a great selection and the staff is very knowledgeable. They know their inventory and their music. I listen in as one of the guys there help a customer out who is looking for jazz, the guy gives him a few examples of who he currently is listening to and the employee pulls several albums that he thinks the guy might like to choose from. I some I had heard of some I hadn't but the customer seemed thrilled. My daughter found a few albums she wanted and purchased them at a price that satisfied her and she was very happy. Im an avid record buyer who has probably been to a good majority of all the record stroes in this area and slightly into L.A. Burger records selection is good but nothing crazy to write home about. Staff wise, I have never had a positive experience. I have never been greeted or asked anything by any of the employees. Decent selection, ordinary prices, and an un-sociable staff leads me to a 2 star. Better record stores, with better prices are around just gotta look for em. read more

Great shop. Nothing fancy, just a lot of records. They have cds and cassettes as well. They have lots of inexpensive vinyl but some really good stuff (ie expensive) as well. Found this store on google because i just bought a record player. The 2 guys that work there are really cool, knowledgeable guys that were extremely helpful. As for selection, they have a wide variety. I bought 8 records from different genres, from reggae to hip hop to frank sinatra and 80's Cant go wrong. The only reason I cant give them 5 stars is only because they have a cat they allow to walk around and i'm allergic to cats so I was uncomfortable. Probably would have bought more records if I wasn't allergic. read more

I'm new to the vinyl scene. Luckily I live near Burger Records to serve all my record needs. That have something for everyone: punk, soul, jazz, opera, kids and movies. You name it, they got it. This place does not disappoint ... ever. I never leave this place without spending at least $50. Keep in mind that most of my records are $2 each! They have a pretty wide selection, and I have found some gems here. A good rock, indie and punk selection. Most prices are pretty descent. This place sells these black plastic disks that play music with a needle! Isn't that strange! hahaha. I make fun of my dad for still collecting records. I remember when he used to listen to records. He used to take care of them like they were made of diamonds. I was raised in the tape and CD generation. My dad loves this place. He comes here to look for his "rare finds". I guess there are still some bands that put out records. The people at Burger are really nice and friendly. They seem to know a whole lot about music.
