I had a few friends recommend White Tiger to me since I moved here but hadn't had the chance to visit. Students are back in town so I figured there would be a huge wait but there wasn't at all. The person helping us was very friendly and nice. It was her first day and was still figuring out the register, etc. but didn't let that stop her. She kept her poise while she had a line and was very welcoming. Wife and I ordered the Barbarella, The Jason, pimiento cheese side, and 2 orders of the banana pudding. It took our food an average amount of time to get out but the staff kept apologizing for the wait. Any time I get to spend quality time talking with my wife is fine by me. Food came out and was delicious. It was done perfectly. Like the kind of meal that makes you feel like you made it and did all the toppings and stuff how you wanted. The only thing to note is that the shredded chicken was a little dry but that's poultry in a smoker for you. My initial recommendation for them is that they give you the option to add more sauce. Maybe call it "Tiger Time" or something and they make it extra saucy. I would also buy one of their shirts, glow in the dark with the logo but am waiting for a buddy to come in town so we can get them when I take him here. I would love a sticker that says fun things like "Ride the Tiger!" Thanks for an awesome meal y'all and will definitely be back. Really hope they add their own version of baked beans n fries, but since they haven't yet, they may be set against it. While the pimiento cheese needed just a BIT more pep and shredded finer, it was also tasty. The staff is young and friendly which goes a long way to brighten my eating experience anywhere. I tried White Tiger for the first time and it was amazing! The location is near prince off the main road in a cute little area with outdoor seating. The only parking I found was street parking so be prepared to possibly have to parallel (no meters)! The staff was super nice and sanitary (masks and gloves). But most importantly, the food. Old white paint, smoke and vinegar, meat and soy. What do we have here? Though very much still not the biggest fan of tofu and White Tiger isn't letting myself stray from their Tofu-Q. I can't help but love everything about it despite the tofu. Okay, okay. Tofu isn't all that's on the menu. There are salads, some amazing looking pork sandwiches and burgers... chocolate. The dessert part baffles me as it's not ever present. The few times I've been the case wasn't even lit up or advertised. Their entrees don't readily come with sides unlike their other BBQ joint brethren. I've yet to add one myself since the sandwich has been fulfilling for me at least. The indoor area feels a tad crowded, but what can you expect in a small space? You know a restaurant is going to be good when you smell it before you even walk inside. White Tiger Gourmet is located inside a small, white house located on Hiawassee Avenue. Only street parking is available. Once you get out of your car, the intoxicating smell of smoked meats enters your nostrils and you basically float the rest of the way there like in a cartoon. The inside of the house is adorable! I love the knickknacks on the shelves in the back of the house and the colorful chairs and tables. The food is TO DIE FOR. They're known for the BBQ and it does not disappoint. The BBQ plate allows you to sample the delicious and juicy BBQ while also trying the mac and cheese, which is creamy and has so much cheese it strings out when you scoop some up with your fork. My personal favorite item on the menu is the Seared Salmon Ciabatta. The salmon is so moist and flavorful and the cream cheese with the cucumbers and capers makes a match made in heaven.
