It was highly informative and challenging for all of us. The Friday classes are usually very small handful of people and allows us to go for more advanced drills which we wouldn't be able to do otherwise in a larger class of say 10-16. I much prefer it this way. Tim is an excellent trainer and I appreciate his depth of knowledge and willingness to tailor his approach to each students level of abilities. I've taken rifle-1, shotgun-1, tactical pistol 1 and have scheduled pistol-2 next month. I plan to try and take one of his classes at least a couple times a year

Lisa is extremely knowledgeable and aside from learning how the gun operates, safety and cleaning of the weapon, she also provided great information on regulatory laws, types of safes and correct methods of transporting your firearm. The trip to the gun range gave me a chance to put into practice what she taught us. She's ex-military so if you feel like you're in boot camp while at the range, it's all good. She wants to make sure that you learn safety not only for yourself, but for others around you. An added benefit, for an additional cost, you can also get your Firearm Safety Certificate. I highly recommend taking this course. I definitely plan on taking additional courses. Thanks Lisa!

No lie, this place is actually pretty awesome. I've been to a couple shooting ranges before, and…read morefor some reason a lot of them tend to have that same vibe where the staff acts too cool just because they have a gun on their hip or know more about firearms than the average person. Insight Shooting Range in Artesia was the complete opposite. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel welcomed, safe, and comfortable. Natalie especially was super helpful, educational, and easy to talk to. You can tell the staff here genuinely enjoy what they do and actually care about teaching people the right way instead of trying to intimidate anyone. The whole process is smooth and easy. Of course safety is taken seriously, which is exactly how it should be, but overall it's very easy to walk in, shoot, and get out without any stress. Their gun rentals are also very reasonable and affordable. Every time I come here it's always a breeze. Great environment, great people, and honestly one of the few ranges that makes you feel comfortable whether you're experienced or newer to shooting. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Prices are standard for a typical shooting range. However, I can't give this place a 5 star because other rangers have set the bar pretty high when it comes to appearance. To be completely honest, I started this class with a significant amount of fear regarding firearms. However, the patient, safe, and professional manner in which we were taught immediately put my mind at ease. Tom does an incredible job of prioritizing safety above all else, ensuring that every step is understood before moving forward. His teaching partner Val added such a wonderful, welcoming touch to the class. Her presence and guidance made the experience feel even more approachable and inclusive. Because of their combined efforts, I walked away with so much more confidence than I ever thought possible. If you have been hesitant or nervous about taking that first step, I cannot recommend this course enough--you will be in great hands.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. It sounded like they made special accommodations for myself and some other shooters, by opening up the "tactical" range, since there were no members shooting at that time. That was awesome, because it got me on the range sooner. I also brought with me a new firearm - Canik Mete MC9LS with a new optic. I forgot my regular range bag with my tools; however, the range staff allowed me to use one of their tools to adjust my new optic. I don't know how the targets move on the regular range, but on the tactical range, you can push buttons to automatically set the targets at a specified distance, move the targets manually back and forth, and automatically have the target return. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable. $20 per lane and $0.50 targets - WAAAAAY better than prices in the Bay Area. If I were a resident of the area, I'd definitely become a member. (I overheard one of the staff members informing another customer of the benefits and price.). Top Notch outfit in my opinion.

I attended their intro to handguns class, covering the basics of safety and proper form, and getting in some introductory shooting experience. John, our instructor, was very engaging and great at commanding attention when needed and building up the class's confidence. Afterward, I took them up on their 'newbie' offer of free range time and rental after class. Kevin signed me up for a lane, let me rent a couple of handgun models I researched previously, and critiqued my targets, giving some general feedback and advice. He also pointed me toward a couple other models that are known to be more friendly to left-handed shooters that I can test out in the future. Great place; a little on the older and smaller sides, but staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. I get the feeling that as I 'shop around' for my go-to range there's a strong chance I will gravitate back here, since these guys are passionate about what they do, and seem to want to inspire that passion in others. Definitely will make it a point to stop by again.

As it turns out, a thorough understanding of firearms safety and proper firearms training changed all of that for me, and that's where Applied Fundamentals Consulting comes in. Julian is as professional as they come, and will cater to your level of expertise, from novice to expert. With over two decades of law enforcement experience under his belt, Julian has had extensive training himself, and his ability to patiently and effectively convey his knowledge and expertise to his clients is absolutely apparent. Aside from the hands-on training that you'll receive from Julian, he makes it a very important point to also teach you about firearms safety. Muzzle awareness, being aware of your surroundings, finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot, and much more. On top of this, his philosophy that if you're going to learn to make holes, you should learn to plug them as well, shows how adamant he is about ensuring that his hands-on training and safety go hand in hand. Additionally, Julian has also consulted me in terms of the various options that are available to me as a firearms consumer. From handguns, to ammunition, gun belts, holsters, weapon mounted flashlights and optics, safety gear and emergency/medical equipment, expect to be FULLY educated by Julian when it comes to firearms. Needless to say, Julian's training has given me all the confidence that I need to have a gun in my home, and to safely and confidently use it, if and when necessary. In fact, I am so comfortable with my pistol now that Julian recently consulted me on spec'ing out a rifle to meet my needs and even acquired the parts and accessories that I needed for this build. I have no doubt that with Julian's training, I will become as confident with my rifle as I've become with my pistol. If you're looking for a true professional to guide you, and more importantly, provide you with the training and knowledge necessary to become a law abiding gun owner, reach out to Julian with Applied Fundamentals Consulting. I assure you, you will not be disappointed!

First time gun buyer, and I didn't know what to expect. The gentleman that helped me was blunt but…read morehelpful. I probably annoyed him because I signed the wrong spot on the paper and it was near closing time. However, that doesn't take away from the process of how helpful the staff is when it comes to helping you out with your purchases or anything related to the sales of guns. Here's the process for all customers I think and first time buyers will be detailed below: Oh first thing is first, you'll need: - Have your invoice (if you order online) and let them clerk know where you ordered it from: Their website (Ammo Bros) or a third party website. This will help the clerk find the gun easier. - Picture ID (Driver's Licenses) - Secondary form of ID w/ address (Car registration, utility bill etc) - F.S.C. Card (if you do not have this, they will provide a test for you which will extend the processing time by at least 15-30 minutes. You'll need to take the test and someone needs to grade it.) 1. Sign in on the sign in sheet, and put down what you are here for. In my case, picking up a gun. If you haven't filled out any paperwork I'd put down paperwork to pick up gun or something to that effect to lessen confusion. In my case, I had to fill out paperwork, take the Firearms Safety Certification Test ($2 for a laminate copy). Then submit paperwork for a background check. This process varies (in my experience probably 1.5 hrs not including wait times). 2. The Firearms Safety Certification test is common sense (to me) and very straight-forward. Individual results may vary. 3. The background check is pretty standard but read through it carefully and make sure to fill out every line except M2 (the clerk will tell you too), it'll save them a lot of time and make the process smoother. 4. When signing papers, make sure to sign the right spot. This is the part where I messed up on and signed the "Sales" line instead of the "Transfer" line. I auto piloted at this point because I was super hungry and was still recovering from being sick. My bad! But please read before signing and ask (better to be annoying than to drag out the processing time). 5. They'll let you know when pick up the gun. Some advice: If you're picking up a gun and haven't filled out paperwork, slot at least 2 hours to do the paperwork process. Don't arrive 5 minutes before closing. They'll say 30 minutes but I think it's better to give them 1.5 hours to process. There's numerous factors: - Other customers - Paperwork processing - Murphy's law: What can go wrong will go wrong, better to be safe than sorry Overall, the store is clean, they have a number of guns in the store (I'm not really gun savvy yet). There were some missing items from the shelves but I think if you need basic things like magazines, sights, bags, containers, and gun cleaning supplies. They all should be fairly easy to find. The store is also under construction so expect loud noises like drilling and hammers. They have a bunch of different types of ammo behind the sales desk/counter. I know for sure they have 9MM since that was what I was looking to get. I'll update next week when I'm able to pick up the pistol about the pick up process. TLDR: Read the requirements of what to bring. Slot 2 hours for the paperwork process and wait times. Do not show up 5 minutes before closing (7PM). Sign the right boxes and of course read what you're signing. And sign up when you get there.

I highly recommend this company For your further hunting, fishing or whatever you may have this need for military , police -academy, and for insecurity as well. God bless, Brenda Gilliam
