It was fun to dock and dine here on a Saturday afternoon in June. Personally I like fancier seafood restaurants, so this casual eclectic restaurant wouldn't be my first pick, but it has it's southern charm. Def a local hangout & family friendly (complete with sticky table tops & high chairs galore.) We immediately sat our table of 6 and sat in the open air river front section of the restaurant. There is plenty of indoor air conditioned seating too & bar seating inside & out. Unfortunately the pina colada was bland and the rum punch wasnt great either. This Restaurant not only has Amazing food but its lots of fun! I went on a Friday night when they have Deck Music from 5pm-9pm, then starting at 9pm they have a featured Live Band, this particular night "Boogie Freaks" was featured, making for an amazing fun filled night! The décor resembles a large Tiki Bar, with lots of outdoor seating overlooking the water. They also have a large docking pier, for boaters, making it easy to access via waterways. You can chose to sit inside "Dining Room" or in the outside "Bar" area. The inside dining room closes at 10:30pm on Friday and Saturday nights while the outside bar stays open until "close", but please keep in mind that after 10:30pm the outside bar area doesn't permit individuals under 21 to enter. Inside the restaurant you will find Arcade games, Pool Billiards, and the stage for Live Bands, while outside you can enjoy Deck music and "Ring-On-A-String" game, so whether you're inside or outside you are sure to have a great time! Came here for an early Mother's Day lunch. Ordered the Whiteys Fried fish sandwich, gator basket, shrimp tacos, salads and hush puppies. Our waiter Enrique was off the chain AWESOME. Sadly, lunch took almost an hour to come out and it was all cold. Enrique sent it right back and had it remade. He made the experience worth it. We sat outside by the boat area and enjoyed the view of the water and boats. We come here often and this is the only time we had a not so wonderful experience. So I would recommend Whitey's. Great and fun place to be. This is a very popular for those who live close by. I live in old Arlington and it was more than forty miles from my home. I knew Ben Robinson, who I personally know, since he was a kid. He is now a Guitarist, in the Preacher Stone Band. So, this is why I was willing to travel the distance to hear them perform. The stage was big, but there was a pole right in the middle of the front of the stage. I could not see the lead singer very well. I bought two tickets early Friday morning. It was my old time friend, Tammy's birthday weekend. We both ordered a drink and then we split the mahi mahi dinner with two sides, we chose salads. Upon my Yelp check-in, free hush puppies, so they honored that as well. We had the best table/seats in the house, right in front of the band. I don't know how we managed to get such great seats, but we did. The drink was good and the salad was good and fresh, the mah mahi was blackened-but was very dry. I could not eat my half. I failed to walk out to the outdoor bar area, but through the windows, it looked nice. The indoor bar looked huge and the dining areas were choppy and different levels. Now, on the parking area, very tight spots. They employ a nice and helpful young man to help you find a spot. I thought that was nice and helpful. Upon leaving, for safety sake, you can only turn right, go over the bridge and do a u turn at the light. This road is very busy, well traveled and the cars fly down this road. So, EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION, leaving here. Overall, if I live close to here, I would be a regular for sure. read more

This is my 2nd time coming here. The parking lot was for me just a tad confusing as for where to park but I finally found a spot. Upon entering, you will quickly hear music pumping, a bit rowdy & it kind of feels a bit messy. We followed the narrow hallway till we hit the hostess. It's a little confusing walking on in, but it's not complicated. They sat us down very quickly, but our waiter took super long. By the time he arrived, we were ready to order. Our server was very nice but not very attentive. We had to request napkins, straws and ask for cocktail sauce twice. These are things that I feel I shouldn't have to ask for. They have a beautiful view of the water and their food is very delicious. You can choose eat in or out. They serve good portions and I would suggest to anyone going that if you do- then go with the mentally that you may or may not get great service, but at least the food is fresh and delicious. read more

I have been coming here my entire life and it's always been consistently above average. Sitting outside in far superior than sitting inside especially on a nice day. Post quarantine it has been significantly busier and would recommend coming prior to high traffic hours to avoid 15-25 minute waits. The only problem I had was that the new menus they were handing out were limited, and my table was only able to receive one. The food was above average and exactly what you would've expected. I would recommend to try the sweet potato fries, but mine this time were rather cold as if they hadn't been warmed in quite some time. This place would have gotten a 5 star review however when we went back yesterday the service and entertainment was horrible . We visited Whitey the first time in Thursday . Live music Cliff was great, we had a table outside by the music it was perfect. Our server Dylan was absolutely amazing . If we go back we will make sure to request Dylan for the best experience. We love it so much that we went back yesterday . The live band was not a band. His genre in music was outdated . Our server Gabriella didn't show up to take our order till 45 minutes later . We actually placed our appetizer order with the bar to get started since no one has come to us. When we ask the two girls up front that we're taking names doe waiting list who our server was, they responded NO CLUE and s didn't even try to help at all. I went with the waiters recommendation and got the seafood platter with two options and my boyfriend did as well with three options. I got fried oysters and blackened scallops while he got soft shell crab, scallops and gator tail. When my food came out they had forgotten my oysters but immediately brought them out with more than expected or than could eat! Whitey's is a cool place to chill out by the water. They have plenty of space inside and outside. The outside bar area is right on Swimming Pen Creek near Doctor's Lake. It's a great location, very scenic. The food is good. They have a variety of fried items, but also fresh catches of the day which you can get fried, blackened or grilled. On this visit, I had the blackened shrimp with green beans and sweet potato. The shrimp were a very good size and wonderfully seasoned. The green beans were also tasty. I wish they had cinnamon butter, but they'll give you some cinnamon and butter separately to add yourself. I've had their shrimp tacos previously and those were very good.
