We were waited on in a timely manner. We got our food within 10-16 minutes after ordering. Our food was hot and tasted yummy!

Food was good and service was great. The ambience is a relaxed and there is a deck on the river.

Meh, like a slightly nicer Clark's Fish Camp. Parking was impossible so after dropping me off so we wouldn't be late for our call ahead my husband circled the lot for 15 minutes before finally parking across the street. The young hostess unenthusiastically greeted me, I asked if we could sit inside rather than my requested patio table due to the heat. She lazily obliged, sat me at a table just to the right of the hostess stand facing the kitchen. This is surely the worst table in the restaurant, facing the mouth of the crusty kitchen & on display for all entering patrons to witness green beans hanging from your mouth. Meh, whatever. In those 15 minutes the server never greeted me, she appeared after the other 3 in my party sat down. She was bland, was simply an order taker & drink deliverer. The drinks were good, hush puppies were fresh & delicious (and free with Yelp check-in!). The dill salmon was tasty though the side of green beans were so over cooked they were practically liquified. We went last night again to give another try. We have been a couple times since and has been consistently not good. Last night was awful though, our server Ashley took our order and was never to be heard from again until 30+ minutes later until our food came. Fish n chips and popcorn shrimp were soggy, shrimp in the shrimp and grits were over cooked. It's a shame because we used to frequent here but will probably not be back as I can cook better at home for cheaper. read more

We came for lunch last week and so glad we finally tried it. It is so close to our house but every time we tried to come it was always packed. Now we know why! Amanda was a great server very nice and friendly. She took a lot of time to welcome us and talk about the area. She made us feel at home. All of the dishes we ordered were excellent. Stuff flounder, calamari, crab soup and salad all tasty and portions were right on. The soup was full of crab so if you like crab bisque make sure to try it. Hadn't been there in over 6 months. Ordered two fish and chips baskets. The plastic baskets were a full third smaller than before and the price had increased significantly. The fish was WAY overcooked. The fries were also so overcooked they were almost black. It was dreadful and we will not be back there again. AWFUL. read more

Regardless of what I order it's always been good. Very busy in the evenings but service is always great. Love the shrimp whether fried, broiled, grilled, or steamed! Can be a bit noisy at times but that's why it's called a Fish Camp. read more

I wish I could offer a higher score, Whitey's...I wanted to love this place. The outside music seemed fun, but we are inside where service (while friendly) was ridiculously slow. We had kids in tow...and when your 6 year-old shouts, "Finally!!" upon the arrival of the food, know it's been too long and a hellacious wait. The scallops were chewy and over-cooked. Fried food is the way to go. Maybe next time...on the deck with no kids and strong drinks is the way to go. read more

The crab, shrimp, fish - fantastic! The nights they have live, the entertainment the band is pretty good. Plenty of tables but this is a popular restaurant so I recommend arriving before high noon for lunch or before 6 PM for supper. Wait staff it's always friendly and professional and many of them can make excellent menu recommendations. Id give five for five stars if it weren't for two items. 1: Quality and quickness of service slows down during shift changes; prebussing and greeting walkins. 2: It would be fabulous if Whitey's had "table servicers" who were dedicated "beverage-refillers" and went around topping off iced teas, and water. Honestly their food is 5 star ( i know, i know, hear me out ) but the wait time was a leeeetle long (seated at 1:40, ordered at...2:15?) but we sat outside and soaked in the sun and views and pleasant breeze, so it wasn't so bad. She made honest recommendations and said "i would never serve something i myself wouldn't eat" and i believe it, cuz ger recommendations were on point. We got the hushpuppies, fried gator tail appetizer, angus burger, and fried oyster basket. For 35 dollars, this meal was AWESOME. Hushpuppies: deliciously crispy to crunchy exterior, moist interior seasoned well with just a kiss of onion (like, the onion taste of an onion ring! So good) Fried gator tail: Y'ALL. Fresh and local caught gator, and you can tell! (The fresh part, lol idk what local gator tastes like haha) and usually with fried gator, it's breaded to eternity and you get barely any meat. These were lightly battered and fried to perfection: tender, juicy, a wonderful chew, and there was way more gator:batter ratio. Wasn't a fan of there remoulade sauce, but honestly the gator by itself with a squeeze of lemon was perfection. Angus burger: big and tasty patty! The bun was toasted well, soft but with good toast. Patty was flavorful, good quality meat. My husband said it was a great marina burger! Whatever that means. But he said the bun took it over the top! FRIED OYSTERS: ugh. You can tell these were fresh. Just, so fresh, and lightly battered. And not over fried. UGH. My only regret is not buying more i just squeezed some lemon on it and called it a day. You KNOW it's good when all you have to do is squeeze some fresh lemon to enhance the flavor. And those suckers were big! Normally fried oysters end up shrinking down a ton but these must have started out massive to end up the size they were. Seriously...i should have just ordered 2 orders (i only got around 8 oysters per order but it was delicious...so...so good...) I definitely need to be coming back here! read more

Great place. You can always tell a great place by the parking lot. Lol but true. We arrived at 545pm and we had to hunt for a parking space. My husband dropped me off to get a table and it took him a good 15 minutes to find a place to park. But it was well worth it. I thought we would have to wait at least 30 minutes or more , not true this place is moves you there really isn't anyone standing for more then 5 minute before your seated. By the time you blink your eyes your in front of the line. We need a table for 6.... No problem they said 5 minute but it was more like 2 minutes. My husband wasn't inside yet from parking. So I took the table and within a few minutes our party was there. I had the Shrimp Taco's outstanding would order again two had fish and chip which was great and the other had grouper-another 5 star. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. We will be back. As far as decor it was rustic with typical for a fish location. But worth it. read more

Alcohol drinks where expensive and watered down! The service was bad, I had to constantly call the waitress over because she hardly came over to check on us! We have been here before, but it was years ago. We attended a JMA private event tonight and have to say the servers did a nice job. This place gets packed and tonight proved to be the same. We arrived a little before 7:00 and thankfully they had someone helping with parking. We scored a great spot. I didn't get photos of the appetizer buffet but they had a veggie tray, peel and eat shrimp, seafood nachos, chicken wings, fries, hush puppies and calamari. We went on a Saturday evening... it was very busy but we actually got seated quickly (there was just two of us)! We ordered drinks and an appetizer and our entrees all at one time. The appetizer (swamp claw onion rings) came out quickly and was really good! But then we waited for a very very long time for our meal (which we were prepared by the signage to do). When our meals finally came, they were over cooked and under seasoned & sadly a disappointment. The best thing by far on our plates were the hush puppies! This place has an amazing atmosphere, friendly staff, and some great food. I'm traveling in the area on business and I wanted to grab some dinner with coworkers after this place was recommended from another friend...it definitely didn't disappoint. The staff are quick to take your drink order, and your food choice was taken after drinks arrived . There's about a 20 minute wait on dinner before it arrived. I had the blackened mahi, and the fried shrimp, both are fresh and very tasty. I had a little mac & cheese and coleslaw to round off the order. The hush puppies are some of the best that I've ever had. When I'm back in town I'll definitely stop by again. read more

The location is fantastic! The restaurant was busy, so we went to the outdoor bar area. You can't beat the view, that's for sure. The food was 'meh. There's limited menu on the bar side. I hear the restaurant side is much better. We should be able to review them separately. The waitress was nice and helpful. If I'm back in that area again I'd go again but not sit outside, I'd want to experience the 'regular' restaurant and the full menu. Food was good, service was okay - I was bummed bc I called ahead to ask if staff were required to wear masks and was told they were absolutely required. I saw at least 4 different staff members wearing masks around their nose - the busboy had his under his nose the entire every time I saw him as well as the bar staff So, until covid is over, sadly, we won't be going back. read more

One of Fleming Island's classic restaurants on the water with a few different atmosphere depending on where you sit. Unfortunately today I had to sit inside because of COVID.
