This is…read morea City of Henderson Recreational Center tucked in the Green Valley community between the Pittman Wash Trail and Silver Springs Park. The amenities that it provides include outdoor swimming pools, tennis, events & activities, a dancing room, and more. It also provides the needs of my recreation, which is hiking. The Silver Springs Recreational Center grounds is connected to the Pittman Wash Trail. It is at my favorite location along the Trail where a picturesque landscape of mature trees provide a canopy of shade throughout the year. At this scenic spot, the Silver Springs Recreational Center grounds extend across Pittman Wash to the amphitheater and Pittman Wash Overlook. Here, hikers are able to ascend down a trail onto hiking trails that follow the meandering wash. Oftentimes on my Pittman Wash Trail, I have turned onto the short walking path between the swimming pools and tennis courts then crossed Silver Springs Parkway into Silver Springs Park across the street. In reality I have been here more than six times. Walking through Silver Springs Park, which I would count as a recreation center amenity has extended my time in the Henderson Great Outdoors. From my visits to the Silver Springs Recreational Center, I discovered that the restrooms are the cleanest restrooms along the Pittman Wash Trail. I am impressed by the high standards of cleanliness in the restroom and throughout the facility. If only Yelp Tips was still around I would of posted this. Recently, after hiking along the Pittman Wash, I found out that they have vending machines. This was very beneficial when I developed a deep thirst on the hike. The $3 bottle of Coke was a lifesaver. The reality is that there is a long distance from the beginning of the Pittman Wash Trail in Arroyo Grande Park to Pecos Road without proximity to cold beverages. Again, I will say "If only Yelp Tips was still around." Before voting on this review, let me bring up "voting." I have early voted here twice during the past two President Elections. My observation is that the Election aspect was managed well, where finding a parking spot could be a challenge. The parking lot here is relatively small to accommodate Election voting and events. I have seen it fill up to the point where people park across the street in the Silver Springs Park parking lot. On the aspect of voting, I will close off this review by casting a vote of Four Stars for the Silver Springs Recreational Center.

I grew up going to summer camps here, and now I bring my daughter for swimming lessons--it's such a full-circle experience. Every visit has been incredible, whether as a kid or now as a parent. Even though the building has been around for a while, it's kept in great shape. The ambience is clean, welcoming, and family-friendly, and it really feels like a space for the whole community. The staff has always been amazing--friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring, which makes every experience that much better. One of the biggest pluses is the value. They offer so many activities at a really reasonable price, and this is definitely the place to find more discounted programs compared to elsewhere. From fitness classes and pools to kids' programs, you get so much for what you pay. Overall, the Henderson Multigenerational Center is a gem--nostalgic for me personally, but also such a reliable, affordable, and enjoyable place to bring my daughter. At the time, he was mostly non-verbal and had an intense fear of new people and places. After just a few days of what felt like pure torture--filled with non-stop tears and screams--he turned three. At age three, the kids graduate and you get to send them off to "Mr. David's Tumbling Tots." Once again, I was convinced to sign my boy, Jaxson, up. This time, it was two days a week of intense, fear-fueled tantrums. After eight months of private therapy with absolutely no progress, I was desperate. And Mr. David kept telling me, "Keep coming back." Two sessions, eight weeks, twice a week... it got to the point where other parents literally asked for my schedule so they could enroll into the opposite days. And then, Jax touched the mat. He didn't actively participate right away, but simply touching that blue mat freed mommy from the back pain of standing for 60 minutes--or playing a real-life version of Where's Waldo. (A part of me still wonders if he genuinely forgot I was hiding behind that mat, or if it was all part of his plan.) Fast-forward to the present: Jaxson is now four and a half years old, and he is the most talkative, confident, and highly coordinated little man in town. He has truly blossomed, and I owe that recognition entirely to Mr. David. After seeing Jaxson's incredible progression, I enrolled my other two "gremlins" as well. I truly cannot rave enough about how amazing of an instructor he is. Watching their confidence skyrocket, their strength increase, and their behavior improve made me think, "Hey, I could use some of that." So, yes, I joined adult gymnastics! If you are reading this and contemplating coming to this rec center, look for me. I'm the woman on the floor, or the one chasing a little blonde, curly-headed girl around who constantly gives me a run for my money. I will definitely convince you to join. By the end of a session, you honestly wonder what kind of magic Mr. David possesses to get twelve three-year-olds to actually listen. It comes down to the immense effort, compassion, and time he invests in each child. It is rare to find someone who puts their entire heart into what they do. As long as you take your child consistently, they will blossom too--I promise. My children and I are living proof. Since I am now here five days a week, I have met the entire staff, and they couldn't be more welcoming. They are genuine, good-hearted people who make the atmosphere a thousand times better, especially when your kids are acting like... well, "little angels." To me, Whitney Ranch Recreational Center has become my second home. Being here brings me so much joy, and I am incredibly grateful to have found such an amazing program and community.

It was the first time our furbabies registered for the event, and first time they ever experienced swimming in a pool!! Fiji and Makana had a pawtastic time!!! It was so fun to watch them frolick unleashed under the sun!! We paid $11 per dog to spend time in the water from 11:30am to 1:00pm for their weight class (40lbs+). We just had to make sure proof of vaccination was good to go. I thought we'd be in and out of the pool within 30 mins, but we ended up staying the entire time. We brought a jug of water, a dog bowl, lawn chairs, and our tennis ball thrower. Once we walked in, there was a table full of bandanas and tennis balls that were complimentary for all puppers! Plenty of lifeguards on duty, too! By 12:30pm, there were at least four pet vendors highlighting their businesses. I ended up with some frozen yogurt cups and apoopie bags for free! Keep an eye out on the City of Henderson Calendar of Events. We would definitely sign up again in a heartbeat!

There was a skin disease outbreak that happened that year so, I stopped going. They got that issue straightened out. Now that I am a Rebel, I get to come here for free, yay! I like the layout of equipments and how seated machines/equipments are red - my favorite color! The little details matter to me. My favorite is the running track since I love running and we don't have one at my regular gym. Please run in the right direction. It's clean, modern and doesn't seem cramped. Cardio machines, ab machines, free weights, basketball courts, pool...whatever exercise equipment needs you have, they got it. Please wear appropriate pants/underwear before using the leg abductor machine.

(I guess you can call it a hidden gem.) The SRWC and I go way back -- back before its birthday in 2007 and back when my waistline was teeny-tiny. Doing both my undergrad and grad years at UNLV, you can bet I've taken full advantage of the student facilities fee tacked onto my tuition. Currently, all students taking a summer class automatically have a membership for all three summer sessions. For the regular semester, 3.5 credits will grant you access to the gym. And man, what a gym! Even through the years, it has remained pristine and increasingly equipped with state of the art machines. The custodians are always cleaning, the staff for the most part is friendly, and if you avoid peak hours, you'll be in and out in no time. Be sure to check out the Rebel X group fitness classes, too! They're free. The gym features 4 floors: cardio room, weights, basketball courts, indoor jogging track. Amongst these floors, you will also find multipurpose courts, indoor pools/spa, locker rooms with showers, Einstein's Bros Bagel and cafe, Rebel Wellness Zone (with massage chairs), dental school office, counseling/psychological services, pharmacy, and the student health center for medical appointments. We have been taking our daughter to Water Wings for over a year now. She started out in the Parents…read moreand Me 1 class, which has the parents in the water with the child, and graduated two levels into the Guppies class, which has the child with just an instructor in the class. We have had her in a variety of class size types, and they have never felt like the ratio of students to teachers was overwhelming. She has changed teachers a few times, but all seem to be knowledgeable. Her favorites have been coach Avery, coach Taj, and coach Dani. Water Wings is located off of Horizon Ridge and Green Valley in a pretty large space. They have a large, three lane pool, and a small baby pool. The large pool is broken up into different sections for the various classes and same for the baby pool. There are 7 showers to rinse off before and after class and even include soap/shampoo. There are a number of changing rooms and restrooms for anyone to use. There is a viewing room for family and friends to watch students swim as well as seating inside the pool area. We are going to continue taking her here even after we are comfortable with he swimming level, as she has learned other good life skills beyond being able to swim.
