Slim Lime with tuna salad and fixings.

This is a breakfast and lunch place. It's an old fashioned diner that is low keyed, comfortable and friendly. The waitstaff are attentive and kind. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is great!! I ordered the chicken salad on toast with Cream of Rueben soup. Quite delicious. My Dad ordered the slim lime meal. See pictures. The prices are fair and I'll be back again.

Cute little old timely diner. Lots of small little booths and a few tables, along with seats along the diner bar. Busy on a Saturday morning but we got in with only about a 5 min wait. We had good service, quick and kind waitress and hostess. The food was pretty good. Tonssss of menu options. We went with breakfast food. It's a cute spot, nothing too special about the food we had but it was good, big servings. I enjoyed my time here!

    Cute local joint.

Whitney street is a nice small little diner in downtown Grayslake. The favorite for my wife and I is the Sunday morning buffet.

They were great and friendly and I did not mention or complain about the lack of customizations to them nor did I complain about the onions- i did not say a word when trying to figure out kikosk (or tablet whatever you call it) Kikosk ordering at the counter- It would not allow me to add sauce on side. There was no description of what it was so was confusing when ordered at first. The menu/kikosk doesnt say what kind of sauce- drives me crazy when there is no clear definition for people who are picky or cant have certain items in their food. My shake did not come with whipped cream unlike pictures or social media feeds. Fountain drink was flat to my disappointment so got refunded for that only and went with water. Clean taste. Burger has great potential but if they are not allowing us to customize it to our own preference it will fail in this location. Lack of toppings to my dismay- When I got my burger with the sauce cheese and grilled onions, it looked good at first glance. When I bit into the grilled onions it was not tender/soft it was like eating stringy rope with the burger yanking it out with my teeth . Sauce wasnt memoriable for me. Still have no idea what it consisted of even few days later. Again Bun/meat was delish driving me on eating the burger. Fries were ok- nothing to write home about. Not coming back though until they improve on some areas. This is too expensive for the mistakes/lack of customization/options for a picky person like me. If it was signifcantly less in cost I would have let it slide and bring home plain burgers and customize it at home. But this was a HUGE bucket list for me being open minded about what went on my burger (I usually ask for plain with certain toppings only) Best of luck to this establishment!

This review is difficult for me to write because I genuinely wanted to support this business. Over…read morethe years, I have brought countless friends, family members, and visitors here because I believed in supporting local establishments. Unfortunately, despite being a loyal customer and encouraging others to spend their money here, I have repeatedly been met with disrespectful and dismissive treatment from ownership. This has not been a one-time incident or a misunderstanding. I can think of at least 5-10 separate occasions where interactions left me feeling unwelcome and unappreciated as a customer. I never expected special treatment for bringing people in. I only expected basic courtesy and respect. Instead, I often felt like my business and the business of the people I brought with me did not matter. The food and atmosphere may be fine, but customer service starts at the top. After multiple negative experiences, I can no longer recommend this place to friends or family. I sincerely hope ownership takes customer feedback more seriously in the future, because no customer should leave feeling disrespected after choosing to support a local business. 10/10 piece if shit owner. The bar tenders are great except for the older bigger lady. On top of that, my mother suffers from stage 3 cancer and when me, her, and 3 friends came(we go every week, never had a good experience with him) he went and turned the heat up 8 degree in the summer. My mom had chemo the day before and is clearly not doing well. On top of that he made it a point to complain about everything we did. I mean sitting on stools "wrong", sitting in empty seats "wrong", and "leaning" in the pool table which consisted of 2 fingers. Genuinely never felt so much hostility and rudeness from an owner. Not only that but we play slots every week and he accused us of somehow breaking a slot machine(not even possible). 10/10 would not recommend for anyone looking for a good time or good drink unless you goto the single good bartender( the one with tattoos or glasses who's only working Thursdays)

And I'm SO glad we did!!! We've now been back several times. Each time it's been everything we hoped that other visit would be and more. This time everything was just as we remembered from back in the 70's when we lived near another location - only even better! The onion rings are so good - just as they used to be! A few years back, we couldn't say the same. The person I've been with has tried a BBQ sandwich and a classic Coney Dog. Both were delicious! I was pleasantly surprised to find they carry both an Impossible burger AND an Impossible chicken sandwich. I opted for the chicken and added lettuce, tomato and special sauce. Omg! Soooo good!!!! Perfectly crispy breading on the outside, perfectly done inside and a flavor bomb on a soft bun. I'm so appreciative that they offer two solid entree options for someone not wanting meat. All of our orders have been freshly made and of great quality. I think this might be the summer of us making it through the entire menu. We've done root beer and root beer floats. Im not a root beer person - but Dog 'n Suds root beer is different and love that it's the same it always was. I love that they still have the original classics from the original Dog 'n Suds days - and that they brought back the magic in those options. But they've also expanded their menu with a bunch of great new options and that's fabulous (looking at you next, Dole soft serve!) The place looks freshly painted and everything is in great condition. We've been opting for eating in the car with the tray on the window like back in the day - but they have lovely tables in great condition set up too. The entire place is so clean too. Service has been wonderful - attentive and friendly. And who can't smile with some oldies to bop along to. Did I just say 'bop"? See? That nostalgia is creeping back in. Something old. Something new. Everything fantastic at the Grayslake Dog 'n Suds. Give this location a visit. Stat!

My husband went there a few weeks ago and placed a $50 plus order brought it home and everything was burnt, due to the new charbroiled cooker. I got ahold of them and was told I would get a credit for the order I went to collect a new order and they wanted to give me a $10 credit? What? Then it went up to $20! So I took it from the manager got only 4 burgers nothing else was replaced in my order when my order came out and the young lady said, that'll be $8 and change more! What! Needless to say we won't be going back to that location. There's one in Ingleside not that much further. It's a shame that customer service isn't respectable and the customer gets treated like they're nothing. The managers are completely disrespectful and rude. We were once loyal customers for many years to that location but will be no more. It's all about quantity not quality any longer. Thank you Dog N' Suds for the many years of good treatment, good food up until now. I know that my words won't make a difference in this matter but in case you're thinking of going there, don't expect much courtesy.
