    Salad with fruits and toast

So we went to a very beautiful church my wife and I like to visit in Libertyville. Our friends joined us there and after the maid we visited this restaurant for lunch. It's opened for breakfast and lunch . We were greeted at the door by a very sweet lady who might have been its owner. Our server was a young man named Armando very sweet and handsome he told us that he arrived 5 months ago from Venezuela and spoke to my surprise very good English, I asked him about it, and he said he learned it in the university there. The restaurant was very cozy and clean and it smelled very good from the foods cooked there. Once we settled into our table we ordered our foods which by the way was very tasty. My wife had the salmon with cream cheese and avocado, and although it was served with bread instead of the normal bagel, she said it was tasty. I had an avocado and chicken breast sandwich with fries. We both had salads as well. One of our friends had salad with fruits, and her wife had breakfast omelet with a hashbrown and bacon. We met Simon, an older gentleman who served coffee and was very polite from Mexico. I highly recommend this restaurant because of the good food and hospitality we will return next time we visit the church in Libertyville.

Came to Liberty restaurant around 930am. Lots of parking and no wait. Inside was clean just looked like a normal diner. Service was good didn't wait to long for our food. I end up ordering The Piglet skillet with pancakes. Good amount of meat (bacon, sausage, ham). The food looked so good I forgot to take a picture till I have half done! We came at a good time by the time we were done the restaurant was full. All in all good breakfast spot!

We went today for lunch. We both ordered a grilled cheese, fries and side of soup. When our food arrived all that was on the plate was a grilled cheese sandwich. We asked the waiter where are the fries? Oh, those will be right up... just a bit of an annoying thing. We don't want fries after the main entree. We had already hesitated on going back after our last visit because we ordered omelettes that were not fully cooked. Doubtful we will return.

I typically can always count on Green Room serving up great food and drinks, however my last visit…read morewas a bit of a disappointment. I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, the staple menu item I order each time I visit. My guest ordered the Mongolian beef. My pad Thai came out visibly different than times past. It looks almost watered down and the tofu was not coated and seared with the beautiful crust it normally has. I ate it and it tasted... sour. Normally this pad Thai leans savory over sweet, but this time it just straight up tasted sour. The tofu was nothing to write home about, which is typically not the experience I have here. The Mongolian beef tasted like it had more sear on the meat than actual beef. It tasted over-charred. The rice and veggies were good, but that's kind of a simple feat. I ordered the Pomegrantate martini which was good. The space was also very hot, I understand it's a hot day and a busy restaurant but my legs were dripping in sweat the entire hour we were there. I will give them a try again, because I know from previous experiences the pad Thai was usually great. That tofu is what I keep coming back for! Hopefully next time it'll meet my expectations. This was this past weekend on Friday night.

I'm nervous about this review, because I'm pretty confident I'm not the right person to write this…read more Let me start by stating up front that I am not now, nor have I ever been, Filipino. This is the first and only Filipino restaurant I've ever eaten at, so I don't claim to have a great frame of reference. Let me also add that I've eaten here five or six times, and to this day I have no idea what I've ordered. But it's soooo good. Everything I've ever had from Salamat Po has been amazing. So I want to speak to people like me who don't know Filipino cuisine- get in there and try it, you'll be glad you did. I generally go there for lunch, which begins with me standing patiently behind several people who clearly know what it is they're ordering, and they're ordering lots of it. While I'm waiting, I stare at everything in the glass case, and usually something new slides out of the kitchen. I might be wrong about this, but I think the food has been different every time I've been there. When I get to the counter, the server always helpfully tells me the name of whatever dish I'm pointing at, but I'm fairly hopeless when it comes to learning these things. The gentleman today was happy to let me sample anything I wanted, but by the time I got up there my heart was already set on something- a beef stew that wound up tasting as good as it looked, tender and flavorful, in an absolutely perfect broth. I also picked up some sort of fried, salted cinnamon plantain dessert that I'll be dreaming about for the next few nights. I found the portion size to be excellent, with a healthy helping of stew on a bed of rice- more than enough to fill me up for lunch and still have a few bites to share with a co-worker. There are still some things I'm looking forward to trying there- the dessert case has some glorious-looking puddings I need to get next time (unless they have those plantain desserts again), and there's a fish entree I've seen a few times that's been calling my name. Just a note for my fellow eaters new to Filipino food- bring your sense of adventure and an open mind. You'll find some flavors, textures and- let's be honest- some parts you're not used to. Try a few samples, and I'm sure you'll find a new favorite.

The temp was warm inside the shop, not sure if the AC was out. Mostly meat stew food options. Has some desserts and snacks from outside vendors. We ordered a dozen lumpia shanghai and the one meat and rice combo. My kids wanted the longanisa. It was a very large serving of rice and 3 pieces of longanisa for $12. The lumpia was roughly $7. Total was $22 - food was decent but quite pricey for what you get.

Our server Chad explained the menu in detail, offered recommendations, and took great pride in the restaurant. Everything is made from scratch, and they have a beautiful open kitchen. We started with the octopus, which our friends and Chad both recommended, and it lived up to the hype. They sous vide it so it's super tender, then crisp it for that little crunch you want in an octopus appetizer. The romesco and chorizo combo had us scraping the plate clean. For dinner, my husband had the hanger steak served with a large bone filled with bone marrow, along with brioche, truffle butter, and the Aligot and Brussels sprouts for sides. The Brussels and butternut squash were sweet, spicy, crispy, and salty - just amazing. I had the monkfish, which is very similar to lobster, and it was delicious! For dessert, we shared the crème brûlée, and like everything else we ate tonight, we left no crumbs. We can't wait to go back!
