A lunch stop here this afternoon after we did a beach wal through the lighthouse area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Busy inside and outside so we found a couple of seats at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great friendly service! My EBLT, (EGG, BACON, LETTUCE, TOMATO AND AVOCADO SALAD), WAS WONDERFUL! I also had a Rotisserie and blueberry mojito which was refreshing!

Waitstaff was super friendly and accommodating for a small group. Didn't look like a crazy amount of seating, but the vibe was very flexible as if it's a great beach breakfast but also dim lighting could be cozy intimate dinner. The food was delicious and the espresso martini was delicious! Ask for it creamy!

We had an okay lunch here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were quite busy even early in the day with lots of regulars and tourists from this end of the island.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat at the counter/bar to avoid waiting 20 minutes for a table. Samantha (called Sarah by one older patron) gave us good service between preparing drinks for the whole restaurant. My husband's lunch was better than mine. He got the BTLE salad which had avocado, eggs, goat cheese, bacon and romaine. It needed extra dressing which he added. He said it was very good. My grouper tacos were not good. Little bits of dry fish shredded like canned tuna fish were hard to tell that they were actually grouper. I asked for tartar hoping it would help. Their tartar sauce is very puréed -- more like ranch dressing. And the fries were coated -- my least favorite type. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We did have a nice conversation, however, about living through Hurricane Ian with a gentleman who sat next to us at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He recommended the breakfast here which he has every week. I'm glad we came. Now we know.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a nice place to eat when the weather is good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sit outside if you can and and people watch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Drinks were good. Food took a long time to arrive.

Absolutely amazing and delicious dinner at Wickie's!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were fully booked for the evening, but we were able to grab seats at a high-top railing outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I definitely recommend making reservations. After a disappointing dinner at Doc Ford's the night before, this was such a welcome surprise. The food was absolutely delicious, you can truly tell everything is made from scratch. I've heard the restaurant is fairly new and is a collaboration between two owners from former island restaurants that closed due to fire and hurricane damage, which makes it even more special to support. We started with the garlic shrimp and fried green tomatoes. I'm not usually a fan of green tomatoes, but wow these were incredible! For dinner, we had the grouper tacos and the grouper entrée over risotto. It typically comes with mashed potatoes, but they were happy to let us substitute any side, so I chose the coconut risotto--divine! I ordered my grouper blackened, and the seasoning was perfect and full of flavor. For dessert, I had the key lime pie, which was clearly homemade and so good--honestly one of the best slices I've ever had. We also tried the espresso crème brûlée, which was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Our server, Emily, was amazing. She was friendly, personable, and truly a joy. She made us feel so welcomed and well taken care of. I highly, highly recommend Wickie's!!

This was one of the best restaurants I've been to for awhile. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great atmosphere and service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And the food! Everyone at our table raved. Highly recommend the short ribs, fried green tomato's and cheesecake. Oh, and the watermelon drink.... Yum!

The best grilled grouper sandwich i had of 3 tried while on Captiva/Sanibel Islands-Florida Gulf Coast this was our last day here the fish was fat, juicy with tartar, lettuce and fries also the mahi taco were soft with lettuce perfectly cooked as well the chicken quesadilla. The shopping center had an ice cream shop really good and full enjoyed a 10% discount for staying in this location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good service, ambiance with free ample parking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sanibel has quickly recovered from Hurricane Ian hit September 2022 with lots of new constructions, remodelings, destroyed property demolitions including a new bridge that linked Sanibel entrance to the mainland, hurricane brought down. Captive is located all the way at the end of the 2 islands. I rate 4.5

My husband and I stopped here for brunch on our last day on the island after hearing great things, and it did not disappoint. During our time on Sanibel, we've tried several seafood Benedicts and omelets, and this place truly has the best--real seafood and incredibly fresh flavors. My husband ordered the seafood omelet, which was delicious and generously portioned. I had the shrimp and grits, and our waiter recommended making the shrimp Cajun-style--such a great suggestion! Everything was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. We highly recommend this spot for brunch!

Breakfast at Wickies Lighthouse Restaurant captured the spirit of the islands. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The quaint atmosphere, delicious food, and genuinely friendly staff made it feel like a place the locals have loved for years.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stopped by for a quick brunch on Sunday! Food was pretty good and service quick! We were seated at the booth and while I'm not overly big busted I had a hard time sitting in their booth - they're pretty tight and table cannot be moved. Also even though it was mid morning their ac couldn't keep up and it was a bit on the warm side inside although I do understand we were visiting in July. I had Espresso Creme brûlée French toast and it was delicious!

We LOVE Wickies! The service is always friendly and the food is always amazing. It's a cute place that really reminds you you're near the water! We have enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Wickies and have never been disappointed. The steaks are always made perfectly and the plating is spot on. It's a must whenever we are anywhere near Sanibel!

We love…read morebreakfast, and after trying so many places over the years, it can start to feel like every menu offers the same dishes prepared the same way. Lighthouse Cafe managed to make a classic breakfast memorable. We ordered the French toast, and the portion was huge and easy to split. More importantly, it was absolutely delicious. The eggs we ordered were cooked exactly as needed, the bacon was perfectly crisp, and the cheese grits were rich, creamy, and full of flavor. We literally cleaned our plates and ate every bite despite our intentions to simple stop by for a taste. One of the biggest surprises was adding fish to breakfast. It's not something I would have ever thought to eat for breakfast, but it ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. The fish was incredibly tender and paired surprisingly well with the rest of the meal. It was such a unique addition that it changed the way I think about breakfast. We intentionally ordered some standard breakfast items because we believe that's the best way to judge a breakfast restaurant. If a place can make the classics exceptionally well, that's usually a great sign. Lighthouse Cafe exceeded our expectations across the board with their delicious plates and service. Not to mention it is nice to visit a locally owned restaurant whose owner is present and working alongside their staff. From the quality of the food to the generous portions, everything was excellent. If you're on Sanibel and want a breakfast that goes beyond the ordinary while still nailing all the classics, Lighthouse Cafe is a great place to visit.

As good as it gets, & our best meal & drinks on the island!…read more We had expert server Nick & were so happy with him! He was extremely personable, fun, & sooo efficient at his job! He treated us like family, & took such good care of us. We started with cocktails: Miami Vice, Pina Colada, & a Pain Killer at Nicks suggestion. They were all delicious. Next up shared appetizers of smoked fish dip & crab cakes. I usually dislike crab cakes, but I wanted to eat all of them. The smoked fish dip was delicious too & whoever thought of frying the saltines is a genius! For our meals we each got a lunch for dinner platter which was plenty of food with the accompanying house made chips & super ripe fruit. Two of us got the coconut shrimp. They were large, fresh & delicious, very heavy on the batter. The pineapple dipping sauce was perfect with them. Two in our party got salmon & said it was excellent. They ate every bite of it. One of us devoured his lobster roll with great enjoyment. The only non- seafood eater had what he described as a really good burger. He's like Mikey from Life cereal, he hates everything...so that's very high praise for the burger. For dessert we shared both the chocolate cake & key lime pie. I usually don't like Key Lime pie because it's almost always too sweet. But theirs is amazing. Dense, creamy & very tangy, with grated lime zest all throughout the pie. The cake was delicious too. There wasn't a bite of anything left. The ambience is great. Very nautical with lovely views. The exterior is very pretty, & inside it is cozy, casual & approachable. The a/c works really well too. The servers were all cheerful & the other diners seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was such a great overall experience. Highly recommend!

Their new location is in the Village Shops. We had about a 15 minute wait for a table inside We were totally ok with that because it was in the triple digits temperature wise. Once we were seated all of us were ready to order immediately. We already knew exactly what we wanted. To start with we ordered the Giant Homemade Cinnamon Roll. Simply put was love this...Warm, fresh and glazed. For entrees I ordered the Mediterranean omelette (Sautéed spinach, onion, artichoke, tomato, black olive and feta cheese) with home fries and rye toast. The omelette was made perfectly, home fries were well seasoned, rye toast paired well with the omelette; my wife ordered the Bacon and Cheese omelette with side of corn beef hash. She said everything came out great; My mother in law ordered scrambled eggs with a side of corn beef hash. She said she liked her meal; My sister in law ordered the Mexican Omelette with no onions(Sautéed onions, bell peppers, jalepeños, diced tomatoes, sausage with cheddar jack cheese and a side of salsa and sour cream) with biscuits and a side of cottage cheese. She had to send back her omelette because she found onions in the omelette. Once came back things were good. Overall we love this place and it will always be on our list.

After spending most of the morning and part of the afternoon on the beach, hubs was craving pizza. Me? I had my doubts. Outside of NYC, I wasn't exactly convinced Sanibel was about to serve up a killer pie. I was wrong. Because for these parts, it's tasty alright. Dante's has a unique layout with a winding staircase leading up to a circular dining area. We started with the jumbo shrimp appetizer, doused in this creamy, spicy, garlicky, Parmesany-packed sauce that was totally outstanding. Then we each ordered our own 10" individual pie. Hubs went with the pepperoni, I chose the white pizza with mushrooms, minus the prosciutto. He loved his and I enjoyed mine too- but it needed more mushrooms. As for the pizza, the base is kinda thin but not paper-thin, the crust has a light and airy rise with a crisp feel- but not like a cracker.
