Came here today with my son around 12:45pm for lunch. We parked and walked up so we could eat at their tables. We placed our order and I noticed employee (possibly the owner) Alice begin an order of corn dogs for the drive thru. She grabbed the food from the freezer with her bare hands and placed them in the basket. Another employee started my order and used her bare hands to grab the frozen mini corn dogs out of its bag and place them into the fryer basket. It was at that time that that I spoke up and asked " isn't she supposed to be using gloves? Just using her hands?" So then she started using tongs. I said to them, "O don't want any of the ones she just used her hands on ". I immediately looked through the rest of the kitchen and noticed NO ONE had gloves on. Covid days... What? Food safety handling practices? None. I used to do corporate catering and that, is definitely a food handling violation. Did i eat the food? I never had problems at this location, I've been coming to this location for 29 years and I have met many friendly workers ..... My foods always come out the way I order it, and the staffs are always helpful when I approach the window. People have to understand, we are all uniques with different background and we speak all different languages here in California, it should be no offensive but to repeat your order at the window so we can be satisfied, without having to be negative toward people. read more

I notice this location has 2 profiles. hmm..a little strange. one has three stars and probably honest negative reviews while the current profile (this one) has 5 stars and 2 reviews that are obviously fakes and probably paid. how about you guys invest that effort and $$ into running a decent business? Some tips: train your staff better and make sure they provide friendly customer service. If you have to pay them a little extra to do so then do it. I'm not sure if it's because it's dinner time or whatever the case, but service was REALLY SLOW tonight. I'm on a 30 minute lunch break from work and I get there at 7:45. That's already half of my time gone because I went to McDonald's at first but the drive thru line was out to the streets. When I got there, the line was already long and the cashier had to come out to take orders because the lady in front of me was too far away from the speakers. He went back in to punch it in the computer then came out to get the money. By that time it was 7:59..I ordered and waited until 8:05. My clock in time was at 8:08 and I had to speed back to work, barely making it on time to clock in. (Obviously, I did NOT get to eat my "lunch" on my only break of the night, had to eat it at work when I found extra time) I don't know how they take so long when there are 4 people working in there. Came here yesterday to pick up some food for my family. It was a mistake. I understand that it's "fast food" but that doesn't mean it's okay to make so many mistakes. I ordered a chili dog combo with fries...well when I got home there was no fries in the bag first of all. (Yeah , yeah I should have check the bag instead of trusting that they could figure it out) . I also got a Chicago dog which I should have taken a picture of because whoever put it together did it sloppy as hell. I've come here for many years. The food quality is meh, but it's cheap and convenient, so I've kept coming. Today this one star rating is for the utter and flabbergasting unprofessionalism in service and how they treat a customer. It's not the first time something like this has happened here, but it will be the last...for me and many with whom I will share and continue to share this story. I often come here for a quick root beer float fix. Today at around 3:30 on a weekday, so there was rush hour traffic (making a normally 3 minute drive into a 15 minute stop and go fest); I go to get a root beer float. I get my "root beer float" very quickly after ordering, which is nice considering how busy/backed up the drive through was. I have to ask for a straw (for a float), then again for napkins...ok, benefit of the doubt given...maybe trying to save the planet and not being ultra cheap. I take a sip and the disgusting flavor of Dr. Pepper permeates my mouth and senses. No offense to Dr. Pepper lovers, but I love root beer, hate Dr. Pepper. I know what each tastes like, I have had many root beer floats from this specific Wienerschnitzel's before. This was the first time I've has this taste experience...it is definitely a Dr. Pepper float, not a root beer float. I bring this back to the lady at the counter and tell her "this is a Dr. Pepper float, not a root beer float". She takes it in a step or two then looks at the soda dispenser with a look of "I don't want to/have time/want to eat the cost to redo this/make it right" and says "yeah, this is a root beer float". This goes back and forth verbatim a few times. I'm floored. She's arguing with me without investigating into the matter while I'm near retching from tasting the wrong order in my mouth. I'm of Asian descent myself, so I say the following from an insider's perspective. I get that there are Asian restaurants that have that Asian sensibility of "not wanting to waste a single penny in business and that arguing with the customer is commonplace". But this is not a hole in the wall local Chinese fast food type place (I'm ethnically Chinese) where the menu's are only in Chinese. It's an American Wienerschitzel's franchise. So this is so NOT acceptable. Ok, it's an American hole in the wall place, but still the point remains. Even if you, as a business owner, think you are pretty sure you are right...if it's simple like this, you just redo it and avoid a possible customer service incident. But in this case where I, as the customer, am counting the seconds until I can rinse the Dr. Pepper taste from my mouth...you, the business owner/worker, should at least consider if you might have put Dr. Pepper in by accident in the rush, or ask whoever last loaded the "root beer" syrup if they are sure it was root beer, or maybe tasted it to check. Anyways, so she looks at me like she's not going to budge on this. I'm frustrated: I when out of my way in traffic to get a specific craving I wanted only to get something I consider disgusting...and no apology or making it right or looking into it, but just an immediate insistence that the wrong order is somehow actually right and that I take it. Instead of going into a heated argument for likely another 10-15 minutes without the likelihood of a constructive outcome, I just said that I'll take it, but she should check her machine, because what I had in my hand was a Dr. Pepper float. After trying one more sip, I just decided to just take the loss (of getting a root beer float and the money) and tossed it in the closest trash can before I even leaving the place. Symbolism of the worth of the customer service and how the establishment values their customers? ...NEVER AGAIN. Oh, a few years ago, I believe this same individual, or possibly a very similar looking lady, gave me this ridiculously unprofessional "scolding look and gestures" when I ordered some food, realized I didn't bring my wallet and found enough car stored money for it minus one item and cancelled said item. I get that it's a hassle if the item was made, and that in this case I had some fault. But cancelling an item in the order is not an unheard of circumstance. I would have understood a sigh or even a subtle eye roll...but scolding a customer is so not okay and IS "an unheard of circumstance" (or at least should be) if you are running a fast-food business in America. If they want to have a decent chance at long term success, some basic American business courtesy and professionalism needs find its way into this "establishment". So to hang onto $3-4 or so and not making a wrong order right, they have frustrated, alienated and lost a long time customer and likely multiple customers from among those whom this customer would talk to about this "experience". Word of mouth...both good and bad...makes and breaks businesses. You reap what you sow. Now I still want a root beer float...almost as much as I need to wash this Dr. Pepper taste out. read more

Great food, great prices and it's "Drive Thru!". Sometimes it gets busy around lunch time, but the line moves along pretty quick, much quicker than McDonalds or Jack-in-the-Box down the street. I miss their SeaDog that was da bomb and they got some nice smoothies, their Deluxe Hamburger is amazing. Chili-cheese fries are excellent! I think their fries are the best! It's July 11th, the birthday of Wienerschnitzel and select kinds of hot dogs (chili, mustard or kraut) are available for 55 cents each. Like Black Friday, hordes of vehicles come into the dual drive-through, which merges into one lane. As you can imagine, there are those who keep track of their turn, and others that will snake you the first chance they get, especially here in Alhambra. Well, not today, as this is business for me and I'm not going to wait any longer than I have to in line. After jockeying into position, as predicted, someone tries to snake me, but either out of my craziness or the driver's surrender, I get my turn at the order microphone, and order the maximum 10 hot dogs. At the window, it was $6.00 even, not bad for 2016, and such a delicious hot dog, usually. Once I got home I realized there's no free lunch, after opening my chili dog, noticing a stain of chili on the hot dog, like the proverbial skid-marks we notice when during our laundry. Well, too late to complain, so I just dump a bunch of Mexican cheese on it to compensate for the lack of chili. I was about to rate our local Wienershnitzel at 4 stars, but then I stopped myself. Am I even a little embarrassed to give this life long, iconic, and (1) astonishingly *reasonably priced, purveyor of hot dog (& yes, hamburger..) delicacies 5 stars?:-/ Well, now that I find myself writing this review, ..no. ,'-) In other words, I enjoy their (2) *food. Their dedicated staff is (3) *efficient, & treat their customers with (4) *respect even on occasions when I have witnessed how their small-ish work area, though efficiently run, can become uncomfortably hot on a hot California day. Their selection of hot dogs, all Beef (for the flavor traditionalist) if you're in the mood, can be substituted at an extra cost, but if you'd prefer a lighter taste (their original) can be served either plain or with the works (IE: Mustard, ketchup, relish, onion, or even sauerkraut if you so desire) at no added cost. They've even grilled my onions on request!:-P Their regular buns are soft, & fresh out of the steamer. My wife says 'yes' most times when I suggest Wienershnitzel * (5), and a delicious corn dog followed by a 99 cent root beer float (on Fridays) is one of life's simple pleasures!:D There, you've seen my breakdown of *stars. I know it's Wienerscnitzel that I'm reviewing but this is the best one around. It's family owned, I think they are from China. You have the grandma making the burgers, the daughter doing the drive-thru, the neice manning the front window and some other relatives putting the food together. And the grandma wins for best employee. I've watched her make a a pretty tasty hamburger and some nice looking dogs. It's nice to see how much the family cares about the business.
