This review is mainly for the menu item I ordered. I decided to get the funnel cake sticks, which hold nostalgic value for me since my mom used to buy them for me during our mall trips when I was little. Before ordering, I checked the website to ensure I knew what to expect. I asked the man behind the counter about the difference between small and regular sizes. Initially, I went for a small, but I changed to regular, and I'm glad I did because the serving was much smaller than what the website suggested. Even the regular size was underwhelming. It's also an extra $1 for toppings like chocolate dipping, but I skipped that since the sticks already come with powdered sugar. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the final product and presentation. The portion in my cup was nowhere near what I expected from the menu photos. It felt like a letdown, especially for the price. The small funnel cake sticks are around $5 and the large is $6, not including tax. Service was good, though--the man behind the counter was nice and informative. The funnel cake sticks did take a while to make, about 7-10 minutes. As for the location, it's in the mall food court, so there's not much aesthetic appeal aside from their bold branding in red, blue, and yellow. I probably wouldn't order this item again, but service-wise, everything was fine. read more

I can't lie. I'm not from here originally and didn't know Hot Dog On a Stick was a real place. I just thought it was a thing of movies, lol! It's real and right at the Montebello Town Center! Open 11am-8pm in the food court, you can order in person or on the app. I recommend the App if you like being deals and discounts. When you sign up, they give you $3 off $10 right on jump. I went with the 2 Stick Combo (which will save you 50 cents, yes I'm the coupon coueen today apparently) and snagged an American Cheese and a Nathan's Famous all beef dog. I must admit, I wish the outer crisp was a bit more crispy. And the flavor was pretty standard on both the shell and fillings for a corndog. The American Cheese was an admittedly boring choice but I still somehow ended up being underwhelmed. Not quite as ooey and gooey as I had hoped for. And then Nathan's Hot Dog was good, of course, but they claim to be punny saying their the 'top dog'. I would go more mid level for them. I also tried their Blue Raspberry Jolly Rancher Lemonade (which cost an extra dollar for the flavoring, hmph!) and goodness, I can't handle that artificial sweet taste anymore. I loved those things when I was kid, lol. The person working was super nice and friendly though! And love all the colorful and fun packaging. I won't be running back for more stick dogs any time soon though. read more

Feeling a little down in the dumps from last week has brought me here in search for comfort food. I was just in the mood for something fried and cheesey and the Pepperjack Corn Dog was the answer. Located in the Montebello Town Center food court it's really a hard place to miss if you're heading towards the restroom. Knowing what I wanted, I ordered myself 2 Corn Dogs stuffed with melted Pepperjack Cheese and medium Lemonade. After I got them I quickly ran to my car and drove from one parking space to another spot that had no surrounding cars so there was no chance of people watching me shove corn dogs in my mouth. Hey, it's not a peep show. As I shamelessly engorge myself in fried melty cheese goodness, I felt a sense of happy contentment envelope me in a warm fuzziness that I haven't felt all week. The hot dogs are great. Service is average. A little messy at the condiment area. A great meal for the kids when out shopping. I recommend the app for a coupon, $3 off when you sign up on a purchase of $10 or more. Tried the frozen berry lemon and it's great! Wow, the only this I can say about this spectacular eatery is that the drinks are amazing! Never in my life has my thirst been quenched quite like that before! Not only did I get 1 drink but I had 5 more (this is not an exaggeration!) This experience was all possible by SHAYLA! Yes! You guessed right! This is another one of the locations really close to my job. I came early to work and wanted a snack, I ordered the mini hot dog bites and he had the regular hot dog on a stick (corn dog). We made it a combo with the fries and cherry lemonade. The drink was okay but too sweet for my taste, loved the mini but the regular one was burned. The girl didn't call our number order or anything so I had to send my boyfriend to just grab the tray when I saw that everything was there already. Would I come back? Just visited this location on my lunch as I am a mall employee. Often times like today they are always understaffed and employees are pretty rude. As a manager in retail it's frustrating to see these are continuing circumstances and there is no higher level employee on duty to speak to regarding the lack of efficient service. Although today's visit took longer than expected due to the lack of staffing I must commend Nathan for his job well done in multitasking and maintaining composure under such crappy working conditions. read more

This has to be one of the biggest ripoff food places ever. I bought a hot dog combo for my son which includes a regular sized hot dog fries and a lemonade and the total was $8.69! WTF? For just generic food... I know food at the mall is expensive but that is just ridiculous I could walk two spots down and buy a regular Philly cheese steak sub for $7 and change. I don't mind spending money on food when it's worth it but this place is just ripping off people I don't know how they stay in business. Today I went to Hot Dog on a Stick and whoever is in charge there needs to get fired immediately. Because of poor management there was a single girl working on a busy Sunday afternoon. She had to take orders, prepare food and call out numbers when the food was done. The employee (Andrea) is new and had trouble changing out the receipt roll which caused a long line to form, and I'm not knocking Andrea because I'm sure she wasn't trained properly by her horrible management team. I myself, along with another gentleman helped her get the receipt roll changed out, but some customers were complaining and during that time Andrea remained polite and professional. She kept her composure when I feel most people would have shut down. Andrea is the only reason why I'd go back and the only reason I gave Hot Dog on a Stick any stars. I just order a lemonade and was given the last bit before it was refilled. I walk away to wait for my daughters cheese stick and I realize I got extremely watered down lemonade! I go back when my stick is done and tell another girl. She tells me "sorry I can't replace it." I said I didn't just pay for water I want a lemonade like I order. And she says "all I can do it put syrup in it. And I just made that lemonade a half an hour ago." If she was listening to me she would of heard I got the last bit of the other batch!
