On top of that, the "manager" will give you a bull story on how he was "going to honor the offer until you started going crazy". This guy went so far as to ask the customers behind me in line "You heard me offer to honor the reward for him, right?" Unfortunately for him, they had my back and responded "no, they didn't". I haven't eaten at a Weinerschnitzel in probably 50 years. Thanks to this location, I'll try back in another 50. I keep seeing ads on Facebook about "4 chili dogs for $4". The main Weinerschnitzel site shows the same thing. The deal isn't listed on the local site. So I try to call to ask if they're a participating restaurant. I get a modern answering when I call the listed number. I've called from the local page, the main national site, and the Yelp listing. All have the same number and the same modem. So this location has the rudest workers working there. I asked them one day if they had any specials the lady told me we don't do specials. We never offer specials a few days later I live here in Grand Prairie on cable television. They had an advertisement for Wienerschnitzel you get a special for six dollars. I figured hey it's Wienerschnitzel. They're showing it a lot of my local cable station. I went over there to that place again Wienerschnitzel and the lady told me we do not offer any specials or any discounts. She was very rude. It's very strange that this place would not offer what is advertised on TV they're very expensive too. They want like $24 for like six chili dogs and two small orders of fries that is way too much money and they're not even nice about it so why would you even wanna go give them your money don't do it. This store is not very clean. There manager is an ASS. We ordered food on 2/13/26 and our card showed a pending transaction and they kept saying it didn't go through but showed our account was pending. They gave us our food cause they where wrong. Tried to explain there cashier messed up the system when she started the transaction. I will definitely not recommend this place. read more

When I mentioned that providing a clean, sanitary place for people to eat was also serving customers, she turned har back and walked away. My guess is that table had not been wiped off in days. I haven't eaten at a Wienershnitzel in probably 30 years! Just recently watched a YouTube video about the history and background of the company so when I spotted this I just had to turn around and try it out. I think I'll be good now for about another 30 years. Got 2 chili dogs and some jalapeño poppers. Absolutely nothing special about the meal at all! The service here was horrible not only from the employees but the manager was horrendously rude he even threatened my husband. I ordered a KRAUT hot dog with no mustard and they decided to give me a plain hotdog, I ordered a strawberry lemonade and they gave me a regular lemonade. I always pass by and see the "W" and would wonder " What is that place?" But after driving up I recall visiting the franchise in another state. But it was a good refresh to see the choices in the area. The individual was there and working, cash register, front desk and window. So maybe I got them at a bad time, lunchtime. Not only is Der Wienerschnitzel the world's largest hot dog chain, I think it might be the only hot dog chain. (Nathan's doesn't count!) And I've never had anything but an excellent experience in more than 35 years of off-and-on noshing on this company's hot dogs. I've stopped at this (Grand Prairie) location maybe 4-6 times over the past several years and have always received excellent friendly service and the fantastic hot dogs that Der Wienerschnitzel is known for. --  If you've never tried them, grab a dog on the pretzel bun. This place was doing pretzel buns way before Sonic, Wendy's and the like jumped on the bandwagon. (And Der Wienerschnitzel's pretzel buns are still superior.) read more

Today was my first day eating Wienerschnitzel, after only learning of this fast food establishment yesterday. Yesterday, I was looking up recipes for Wienerschnitzel to cook for dinner. I've had Wienerschnitzel before and thought why not try to cook it myself? I cook a lot and had never looked up recipes for it before. I went on different websites looking at recipes and cobbled together my own recipe from them. I also looked on YouTube and watched videos of people making Wienerschnitzel. One of the videos that popped up along with all the people making it was an episode of Undercover Boss for Wienerschnitzel. I had no idea that Wienerschnitzel was also a fast food chain. I have always liked that show so I gave it a whirl. I thought it looked all right and figured what the heck - even though I've never heard of it maybe there's one near me? Yup. 20 minutes away. Well since I had the legit Wienerschnitzel for dinner last night, it only made sense to eat the fast food version today for lunch. I went through the drive-thru today. Fastest drive-thru ever! There were 4 cars in front of me but I was up getting my food in less than 4 minutes. That was awesome - practically no wait! I ordered a number of different dogs, not knowing which was their best or signature one. I ate the corn dog on the way home and it was good. Nice breading - little oily but not as oily as other chains. I did notice the hot dog itself had an extremely smooth texture. It was a steamed dog, I believe. Whoever makes these for this chain - they must be their gimmick because I've never had one like that before with such a smooth texture. The chili dog was kind of gross. At first I thought they forgot the cheese but I could see it nestled between the dog and bun. It looked like a 1/2 slice of american cheese in there but I couldn't tell. It didn't add to the flavor. The chili on top was very strange. The meat was ground up extremely finely. The meat was made up of many fine grains of meat. I've never seen chili like that. It was also very salty - too salty for my taste. And the fries were quite bland on their own for sure - they are not salted, but maybe you eat them with the chili dog for salt?? The other two dogs I got are for my friend and they haven't eaten them yet. I'll let you know what they think. But overall, I don't think I'll be going back here. The food is not "craveable" in the way that McDonalds or Taco Bell is. If the chili was better of the corn dog blew my socks off, I'd consider going back. But with other chains in the area with food you drool over (Golden Chick) there's no reason to go here. ** UPDATE ** My friend was not a fan either. I got a Chicago dog and a Deluxe dog, and apparently the only different is one is packaged in a paper box and has 2 green pepper things on it and the other is wrapped in paper and doesn't have the peppers. I tried these dogs and they are only marginally better. Both were salty - apparently that's the name of the game here. Both had vegetables and relish on it which helped but still - salt. They also noticed the bland fries and we both agreed we wouldn't need to go here again. read more

Lying about hours - they could not give a shit less and regularly close HOURS early. It's Saturday night at 10:30 and they've closed up. McDonalds and Taco Bell next door have lines going down the block. Other commenters have said they won't take coupons, perhaps that means they aren't a real corporate Wienerschnitzel? Whatever the reason, the manager should be fired, replaced, and an effort made to clean this store up. Start a social media campaign to get traffics back in, and it would be BOOMING. Just needs to be managed properly. There's no other Weinerschnitzel's around and fans would gladly make the drive to come from all over to support if this place were cleaned up.
