    Kraut Dog
    Steve D.

845 Branham Ln San Jose, CA 95136 Wienerschnitzel, where you can still get a meal for under $10. That's right, it's May 2025 and I paid $8.39 for a Kraut Dog, Med Fries, and a Small Drink. Wienerschnitzel hotdogs are made from a meat blend, so they're probably not too expensive. My Kraut Dog was limp and soggy. The fries were mushy. The drink was self serve, and it was okay. Cashier offered me ketchup. What bothered me was the lack of concern when I told the cashier/ order taker that someone spilled ice on the floor of the lobby. There was a wet floor sign, but the floor looked dry. I waited 3-4 mins for my order. The whole time nobody came out to clean the spilled ice. I hope no one slipped. Notes: - large dining room - food ready quicky - free parking

I always drive by this location and never tried it. Last week, I finally tried their corn dog. It was good. I am surprised to see veggie hot dog and the menu is pretty huge with wide selection of drinks, fries, mac and cheese. They do lot of to go orders, so restaurant was not full and parking was easy. My only concern is the place needs deep cleaning so badly. It looks very old and that concerns the sanitization.

I was craving dessert and a late night snack. The service was friendly but definitely to the point. Wasn't the time or place for small talk. The restaurant was clean but lobby blocked off by 10 pm so your only option is to sit outside. But they did have a few tables available out there. The sundae was what you'd expect from fast food. Soft serve with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and cherry. I ended up getting a Chicago dog which was pretty decent for $3 It's a good thing for my waistline that they don't have a drive thru at this location. Hours are different than listed.

Small parking lot but there is plenty street parking in the vicinity. There is seating right outside the place so if you want to sit and eat you can. When you've had delicious comfort food your soul senses it regardless of whether or not you've been there. I ordered Doordash pick up because I was ordered on a Thursday for lunch and didn't know what the line would look like. So I walked right in and gave my name and was handed my bag-o-goodies. They have shelves of dry goods to purchase. Refrigerated items to purchase. Their deli counter is towards the back and wraps around the front. I ordered: 1. 2 meatballs: hearty and delicious. 2. Beef raviolis: small but packed with meat and in their meat sauce. Flavorfull! 3. Arancini: I've never tried one. It's a rice ball filled with veggies, cheese and ground meat. Then rolled in breadcrumbs and deep fried. Then served with their sauce. Holy Moly!!! Why have I never had this heavenly piece of Italy?!?!?! Seasoned well and fried well. It's a meal in it of itself! 4. Garlic bread: hot, buttery, garlicky toasted goodness! The only thing I finished was the arancini. I took a bite of each of the rest just so I could write this review and will save for my sons for when I get home because it's all too good not to be shared. Will be back!

I was especially impressed by the wide variety of imported cheeses, French Isigny AOP butter, beautifully marbled American Wagyu steaks, Berkeley-made NY-style bagels, Rosa Brothers glass-bottled milk, and even whole rabbit. Every aisle had something unique to discover. The quality of the products is excellent, and it's a great place to shop if you enjoy cooking or putting together a cheese board. Even the kitchen towels and small gift items were thoughtfully curated, adding to the market's cozy atmosphere. If you're looking for premium ingredients and a grocery shopping experience that's a little different from the big chain stores, Zanotto's is absolutely worth the visit. However, as a sourdough lover going back to my youth, when I searched Yelp for a lunch spot last weekend when we were in the area, I was excited to see West Coast Sourdough as an option. Not only did we go there on Sunday afternoon; we also returned on Monday mid-day and brought Adored Grandson, too. The first time DH and I split the 8-inch hot pastrami sandwich with au jus on the side. Major yum! The cashier suggested adding their house sauce, which was a great addition to the flavors of the pastrami and sourdough. The au jus added another layer of meaty, salty flavor. I was very happy with that choice. DH also had a cup of clam chowder, and I ordered a chocolate chip cookie. We were happy campers. As I was looking around the interior space, I noticed several seasonal items. One was a lobster roll with bacon sandwich. How did I miss that at the outset? Lobster roll as a fast casual sandwich shop? Hmm! That was the reason that we went back the next day, actually. I raved about the place to AG, who wasn't raised steeped in sourdough flavor goodness, so wasn't as stoked as I was. Still, he really enjoyed his buffalo chicken sandwich. DH and I each ordered our own 6-inch lobster roll sandwich on our return visit. That is the only size that they offer for that special sando. Their take included lots of lobster, plus some crunchy celery and light mayo over tomato and lettuce, so it was served cold. That was fine, but the bacon could have benefited from a warm up. Otherwise, it was delicious. Because it was rich, probably DH and I could have split one sandwich and just ordered something else on the side. I was definitely full on the drive home. The interior of this location is cheerful, with oversized collages of images of California destinations and fresh food items on the feature wall. The team of sandwich artists kept busy with their orders not only for in-house guests, but also take-out orders. We didn't feel rushed to give up our table. We almost bought a take-and-bake large sourdough bread to bring home, but they got busy and we had to head out. Nice to know they offer that option for a reasonable price. Wish we had this expanding chain in Ventura County!

We tried the lobster bisque for fun and it was just glorified tomato soup. Overall the restaurant was clean but the food was garbage; don't get me started on the fake "pesto" sauce, pesto is green!! Why was it white with barely green flakes. Huge disappointment for 45$ would rather have bought a top shelf eighth of weed and gone hungry.
