Wow! I can't believe I'm the first to review!!! I even added the business on Yelp! Woo hoo! Then I noticed I wasn't actually the first one. I just had a hard time finding it. Why Yelp? Why? After my man and I had a spontaneous date at Devine Cheese, we stopped by at this place since her girl wanted hot dogs for dinner. We were full from all the cheese plate and wine, but I wanted a corn dog. When I was eight, I would go with my sister to to her tennis practice, and afterwards we would go to a Weinershnitzel for a corn dog. I remember it was the best thing ever when you're eight! Thirty-five years later I still enjoyed a corn dog from Weinershnitzel. Was it nostalgia that made me like the corn dog so much? Or was it the crispy outside with a tender hot dog inside that got me excited?!? Or maybe it was the combination of salty meat and slightly sweet batter? The junkyard hot dog was a 4/5 - pretty standard hot dog with chili, mustard, diced onions, and French fries on top. The chili cheese fries were bomb - 5/5. This is our first order from this place, and we only ordered regular hot dogs on pretzel buns, corn dogs, and plain fries. Standard Wienerschnitzel mustard hot dog on a pretzel bun: this was easily one of the best fast food hot dogs I've ever had, and I'm German so we eat a lot of sausages and hot dogs that are very high quality. The pretzel bun is, hands down, the BEST pretzel bun I've ever had from any restaurant or fast food place! Every other one I've ever had was disappointing, but this was exactly the right pretzel flavor and soft texture needed for a hot dog. Corn dog: well, how can you screw up a corn dog? By buying a box of Costco frozen corn dogs, baking them in your restaurant oven, and laying them under a heat lamp until they are downright SAD. These are not those, but most fast food corn dogs are exactly that -- crappy cardboard made for children's tastes. These corn dogs are about the right size, not huge, the breading was a little sweet, just a hint, not loaded with honey or sugar, and they were obviously deep fried as they should be. Good stuff and crunchy breading on the stick, again, as it should be. Fries: to be honest, with the corn dogs and pretzel dogs being as great as they were, the fries could have been horrible and this still would have been a 5 star review -- it's a hot dog place, not a fry place! And they looked like sad, undercooked fries, a bit too white, but after eating a mouthful I was surprised they were darn good. The way I measure fries as good or not is if you can eat and enjoy them with no condiments at all, and these fries met that standard. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely good. Bottom line, if you want a few hot dogs that basically set the standard in the fast food industry, Wienerschnitzel is it, and this location was better than most, meaning 5-star. The first time I had Wienerschnitzel was when I was in my late 20s. Nothing against it, I just didn't grow up on Wienerschnitzel. I do like hot dogs though, but I admittedly was skeptical about fast food hot dogs. I mean, how good could they really be? Well, check this out... I never knew what I was missing! The Wienerschnitel off 4th street is the neighborhood spot. There's no drive-through, so the all the foot traffic outside makes the place looking like it's cracking all the time. The wait is considerably quick, and I haven't had any issues with customer service. The food at Wienerschnitzel is legit. Dare I say that their fries are more superior than McDonald's?! I absolutely think so! You can upgrade to a polish dog if you're feeling adventurous, and Wienerschnitzel has specialty dogs on the menu. My personal favorite is the Oktoberfest brat with sauerkraut and mustard. I like how the buns are steamed instead of baked in the oven or grilled on the stove. The steamed bun holds together well, and the texture and firmness of the steamed bun are what make Wienerschnitzel's hot dogs really stand out to me. I highly recommend upgrading to a pretzel bun, which is steamed as well. Lastly, the corn dogs are solid. The breading is nice and crunchy, and the dog is perfectly cooked inside. read more

This is a good place to go to for a late night snack. Their standard hot dogs are delicious and satisfying, although on the small side...in other words you can finish one in 3-4 bites. They have mustard, chili, kraut, chili cheese dogs in addition to the more substantial beef and polish varieties. Recently fish and chips have been added to the menu. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were...not greasy but hot and crispy. In addition to sodas, you can order shakes and frosties to top your meal off. This is the more or less japantown edition of the wienerschnitzel fast food chain. They have their own smallish not very well paved parking lot which seems to be more then sufficient for the business. There is no drive thru or inside seating so this is totally a eat it and beat it kinda joint. There is outside seating both shaded and unshaded concrete picnic table thingys, which is not at all a bad choice if the weather is good. The menu is burgers, a variety of hot dog choices including something vaguely like polish and Chicago style, and fried chicken sandwiches (also known as schnitzel-hence the name). Soda fountain drinks, shakes and soft serve ice creams. I actually like the burgers-I think they are better then mcd's or the king of the burgers. The fried chicken sandwiches are decent if you don't get the god awful barbecue sauce, and the hot dogs are okay. Especially the chili and Chicago dogs. Note that the Chicago dogs are more like Chicago style dogs as opposed to the souped up righteousness that is a true Chicago dog, but for the price they are good enough. So since there is no inside seating, typical three star fast food options and a crappy parking lot, why the four stars you say? Well, this place puts the fast into fast food. The only possible way to get it quicker would be to have it ready before you order. They're working on that I'm sure. Also yeah, it's greasy fast food, but for five bucks or so I can get a sandwich, chili fries, a hot dog (with chili. 'Cause that's how I roll.) and a drink. My family ALWAYS comes to this Wienerschnitzel, ALWAYS! Today was a completely awful experience for us. We had coupons which we knew were expired but asked the cashier if she will let us use them. She said no to two of the coupons but yes to one of them which happens to be a buy one, get one free deal. When we were finally ready to order, a different cashier helped us which happened to be the manager. This manager was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and told us the coupon was expired and cannot be honored. We explained that the other cashier said it was OK to use. So this "manager" proceeds by telling us that she doesn't care what the other person said 'cause she's the manager and what she says goes. We disagreed with her and asked this manager to confirm with her employee what she had told us. The other employee said that she told us the BOGO coupon CAN be used by us. I asked for the number to the manager or someone in charge of customer service due to how rude Imelda the Filipino girl in the front was. She looked miserable, was rude since before we walked up, when we were asking about the meal and an add on also when we asked for some waters she literally slammed them towards me with the stank face she's had this entire time we've been here.
