Not to mention the smell and the cleanliness of this place the dust everywhere I get it some products don't get used often or you have a stock pile but removing them and cleaning up it is not that difficult. I've worked in Customer Service for basically my entire life, and while the gentleman was kind of nice was also very condescending like he knew everything. The problem with that is if you knew everything, the shop would not look the way it looked considering we were told that it was a family owned business, and he was part of the family. I would think you know you would have a little bit of say about how these animals are kept. After being on Patty's Pet waiting list for a Dusky Pionus for almost 3 years;…read more Lempicka; my baby Dusky landed safely at home from Florida to L'os Angeles In mid October (2022). The attention and level of care preparing her for the flight was evident upon arrival. Tony was everyday for over a week on the phone relentlessly with me after I brought my bird home to make sure that the transition from his care to mine would be successful. Working with Tony is not for the faint of heart or for the impatients but it's absolutely worth the hustle. I'm so glad in retrospect that I waited that long to get my dream bird. I wouldn't recommend this species to a first time bird owner or someone who's looking for a "cool bird" to showcase for entertainment purposes. My personal take is that a first time bird owner would mistake the Dusky "quietness" and general still behavior for a boring and disengaged bird... Which is definitely not the case, on the contrary. Dusky Pionus or at least my Lempicka is very demure incredibly elegant, observant; intelligent and reserved. She watch me quietly and analyzes everything I do especially when I'm interacting in a specific manner with my other birds. She's constantly quietly assessing me on a daily basis. Lempicka do break into a 5 mins of spaz euphoria everyday which is an absolute delight to watch but otherwise she study me and I study her. She's very willful if I let her do her bidding but she also does understand a firm "NO" and respect me so far since I respect her. Her robe is so mysterious almost like a Baroque painting I would say a Rembrandt shining from the dark with colors ranging from muted fuchsia to moss green to slate grey to Prussian blue without forgetting that dark purple that never gets old. Her smell is delightful; like a ripe fruit mixed with a nutty moss like moisture. Lempicka is perfect. I'm working on training her and me and I will always be grateful for Tony and his tenacity to understand how lucky every single of his customers are to be able regardless the hight price tag to be the guardian of one of his baby Dusky Pionus. I originally brought my 4-month-old puppy, Sadie, in for a bath and sanitary trim, following my vet's advice since her adult coat hasn't fully grown in yet. On Wednesday, I was told the bath and sanitary trim couldn't be done because there was mild matting on her feet--despite the fact that I brush her daily. I was told her body was fine, but that she would need a puppy trim, which I then booked for Saturday because they couldn't accommodate us that day (after driving 20 minutes to get there). When I returned on Saturday, a different groomer checked her in and suddenly claimed Sadie had matting all over her body and needed a full cut. This directly contradicted what I was told just days earlier--that her body was fine and only her feet were an issue. Nothing had changed between Wednesday and Saturday. What made this more concerning was a comment mentioned to me that PetSmart often claims matting to justify charging a higher grooming fee. I truly hope that's not the case, but the inconsistency between groomers raised red flags. I specifically booked with Karol after seeing a positive review about her, and I'm hoping the service itself reflects that reputation. However, the conflicting information, multiple appointments, and lack of consistency made this a stressful experience--especially as a new puppy owner just trying to do the right thing. I expected clearer communication and consistency across staff. Pro: you can pretty much anything you need for your pup.

The female hates her feet being touched, and hates new people. Kathy has a special touch- let me tell you! First time there Kathy spent some time with the female dog and got her to trust her the quickest I have ever seen. She was able to get the trails trimmed and even worked on trimming the hair. Next two visits she worked on more trust and than brought out the drill to grind the nails. This was a big step! This trip today Kathy was able to file the nails and shave the paw pads WITHOUT ANY accidents or my dog getting scared! My female dog is so fearful that at the vets (which I have brought all my dogs too for the last 26 years) she has shown teeth and has to be muzzled for the last 2 years. NOT here, not at Runway Pet Groomers! The store owner/manager always is nice and giver my dog space to build trust. Kathy is special, as is this location. My male dog is a ball of energy and just wants to love and run around the whole time. They handle him with care, because he will try to jump off the bench to see the other dogs and people. They do not yell, scold or tighten the lead or choke him to comply. Rather, they give him attention and work at his pace. His nails are blackened and hard to see the quick, and he has NEVER come back with a cut or bleeding. Unlike other places I have taken him. You can see other groomers and other dogs through the windows, and none of them seem like they want flee the area. There's toys, treats and food items to purchase should you choose. Overall, the prices are good for the area and the staff are great with dogs. I won't take them anyplace else!
