Came here tonight for a friends birthday. Had good service at first, but was called out for a mistake in the tipping because of the POS. Instead of 10 I typed 1. I was immediately called out for not tipping more and shamed. We corrected the tab since we split it. I found it disgusting to hear an employee demand for more money when they had it coming their way in the first place. They were someone who helped us after the fact we had already been served. This is a new business... They seem to really got it going on, location, atmosphere, drink knowledge, decent food and friendly staff. I was there last Sunday morning for a quick meeting with an employee of mine and a drag queen show started. We ended up staying longer than expected but really enjoyed it. Now I got to say I don't understand the negative review I read as it didn't match my experience. We returned to the Corgi Pub tonight for bar bingo. We made a reservation for four earlier in the day as advised by the website. When checking in, we informed the employee that we would be two people instead of four and he asked if we were OK sitting at a communal table. We agreed that was fine, expecting the "communal table" to be one of their larger, more picnic style tables that we would share with another group or two. We watched as the employee then moved another party sitting at a small round table in the corner to a larger rectangle table, and then directed us to the small round table that he advertised as a "communal table" and sat us with one other individual that we did not now. While the one person that we were seated with was very kind, it definitely changed the tone of our evening. Additionally, we observed as the night went on that another table set for four was left empty for at least an hour before one individual who clearly did not have a reservation was sat there. The employee who sat us also made a snide comment to the stranger we were seated with when she tried to pay for a round of drinks for us for the inconvenience. While I understand we changed our reservation from four people to two people, there were clearly other available tables that our two person reservation could have been accommodated. It was an extremely awkward position to be put in when told a "communal table" and then sat with only one other individual- especially when our night out was sparked by a need to talk about some personal matters. Unfortunately, based on this we do not have plans to return. The beer selection is decent, but the food is mediocre and is not worth coming back for. read more

I had held off updating my review as I was trying to be kind as we dined here on their opening weekend. Yes we were VERY THANKFUL that the management comped our food that took several hours to arrive. The drag show was over before we received our food. We had to go to the bar to get our own coffee refills, and the refills for the "bottomless" mimosas we purchased. One member of our party never even got his food. When we did finally receive our food the quality was pretty bad. and we were starving. We tried to eat it, but could only eat a few bites. We made reservations and came here with a group of about 15 before a comedy show down the street. Fabulous experience! They gave us our own tables in the back so we had plenty of room to hang out. Loved everything - good food, creative drinks, Happy Hour prices, fun atmosphere in a historic-looking building. And our waiter Randy; despite a crowd that just kept growing for about 45 minutes, he was super attentive, friendly and kept track of every order. Amazing food. The fish and chips are amazing. The temperature on the fries was perfect and they're wonderfully crispy and perfectly seasoned. The fish is nicely seasoned and has a wonderfully crisp breading - not too thick, not too thin - and no worries about mushy breading. I also ordered the onion rings. Again, the temperature was perfect and they were as crispy as the crispiest potato chips you've ever had. I was able to begin popping them into my mouth without any fear of burning the hell out of my mouth. The staff is super friendly and very responsive to the needs of their guests. This is hands down my favorite bar in Capital Hill. A bar that offers a cozy, neighborhood environment with excellent, friendly staff. Joey is such a great bartender (whose attractiveness is a bonus) and I've met the owner several times, who genuinely seems to care about running a wonderful business. The bar is always clean and has a lovely interior. I also honestly didn't expect much from the food, but it's excellent. I highly recommend the drag brunch, bingo, or trivia. I've found my new watering hole! Dusty, the owner, is incredibly inviting and sweet! He works his butt off to ensure every customer is happy and tried to build genuine relationships with everyone that comes through the door. The people that go are all kind, and it's definitely a great place to meet neat new people. The drinks are great, the portions aren't skimpy, and the food is delicious! This place is wonderful. I used to come here when it was the Marion St. Tavern but I think it's even better now! The wings are some of the best in the city. The miley sandwich is great (who doesn't love fried pickles?!) The staff is super friendly and fast. Good beer and booze selection! They have some pretty inventive cocktails but not in an annoying "we're trying too hard" kind of way. These are actually thought out and taste good! Good single malt scotch selection too! We were craving dessert for an at home COVID date night. We ordered a slice of chocolate cake and two cereal bars to make the order minimum for Uber eats pass. The cake was decent but tiny and mostly cream not cake. (This can be forgiven/based on personal taste.) The cereal bars/rice Krispy treats however were stale and hard as a rock. They were completely inedible... I am thoroughly disappointed especially for the price we paid. I just hope Uber eats gives us a refund.
