This time we put both breakfast and lunch to the test. The breakfast came loaded with eggs, crispy hash browns, a serious pile of bacon, biscuits and gravy, plus a blueberry pancake that practically needed its own ZIP code. The biscuits were fluffy, the gravy was creamy and peppered just right, and they definitely weren't stingy with the bacon. We also tried the fried fish with mashed potatoes, baked beans and coleslaw. The fish came out golden and crispy, and the sides were exactly what you'd hope for from a hometown diner simple, hearty comfort food. And here's a little insider tip worth knowing: Fridays are dessert day! If the banana pudding is available, GET IT. Seriously. It is absolutely amazing and worth saving a little room for which is easier said than done with these portions! One thing worth knowing before you go: come hungry! The portions are generous, and this isn't one of those places where you leave wondering what you're going to eat afterward. Just as important as the food, the atmosphere still has that friendly, small-town diner feel we enjoyed the first time. Good food, good portions, friendly people, and no need to dress fancy, just bring an appetite. Our original 5-star review still stands. We'll definitely be back... although next time I may need to fast beforehand!

No idea where all the good reviews are coming from The food is just flat out horrible The scrambled eggs are powdered and fake The biscuits were all burnt and didn't even taste like a biscuit The grits taste like bath and body works perfume so don't get them The dr pepper was flat and tasted like straight crap However despite how terrible the food was the restaurant was overall clean The service was not good i got one refill the whole time i was there and i went about 30 minutes without a drink The best part about this restaurant was the dude who cleaned the tables and picked up the dirty plates they told us it would be a 20 minute wait and we waited for 45 minutes i definitely don't recommend this place The picture attached to the review was to really give you a good example of how the restaurant was aka trash read more

Overpriced, sullen service except from the front of the house. Over medium eggs were over easy; skillet potatoes look and taste pre-packaged; cold, anemic toast and so-called "natural" jam is packets of Smucker's grape jelly or strawberry jam. The coffee was good but we did have to ask for refills as the small carafe wasn't full when served. The menu has some good selections but this was the second time I've dined here with the same sort of experience. The previous time was with three other people and my more challenging Florentine Benedict took ages to arrive and then was cold. We went this morning for our first time and will definitely go back! I ordered a 'raspberry and lemons oh my!' with a side of skillet potatoes and it was delicious and filling enough that I took half home. My kids enjoyed the 'short stack' and 'yummy in my tummy', and my mother-in-law loved her 'build your own omelette' (feta and mushroom I believe?). This place has good breakfast food so we keep going here. But it is despite the almost always poor service. I think the management really tries, but honestly, some of our food is almost always mixed up or messed up, servers forget to get us things, the toast comes out 20 minutes after the eggs, etc. So it's complicated. Decent food, good hearts, but really hard for them to get it together service wise. These are cooked until they are very soft, mushy and so full of seasonings and flavorful that I think a small child would like them. Hence, my review is not just about Brussels sprouts. Although Cambridge Market has had to increase their prices in the last few years, they are still competitive. One of my favorite things to get is the four veggie plate; however, I had never ordered them to go before. Today's order prompted me to take a few minutes and write a review. You get your choice of four veggies or salads along with your choice of roll or cornbread (which I opt out on). The portions, -- especially when compared to fast food restaurants such as Popeye's mashed potatoes where you get maybe 4 tablespoons of instant potatoes with 2 tablespoons of gravy on them -- are profoundly different. Cambridge Market has real mashed potatoes and yummy gravy. (I am not completely adverse to instant potatoes, but I am adverse to paying for a restaurant side dish that has a quality and portion of a frozen TV dinner.) Cambridge market knows what they are doing for sure with my four favorites: Brussels sprouts, lima beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and their crisply-sweet broccoli salad. Another menu item -- my friend's favorite-- Is their Manhattan style roast beef on bread with mashed potatoes in the middle. I was pleased that the young lady who took my order was polite on the phone (and in person), I was pleased that I was not charged for an accompanying glass of ice water, and I was pleased that my order had the required utensils and napkins in the bag. My total was $10.60 for all. My picture may be in here sideways, but I'm not going to risk losing the novel. I just wrote.
