Came here for brunch on my birthday. Wanted to get bloody marys, which they have. Unfortunately they make it with wine-vodka? It was ok, but not the best. We treated ourselves with the cinnamon roll while we waited for others to join us...OH MY...it was delicious. Unfortunately my meal was sub par. I got the hoosier benny and biscuits and gravy to share. The corn relish/salsa was a bit off putting and the "poached eggs" were more like hard boiled. Once i moved to the b&g, i was even more disappointed to find it cold and flavorless. All in all, a disappointing start to my birthday weekend. Only saving factor was the cinnamon roll, which I would order again. Im sure the food is usually pretty good, just seems like it was poorly executed. My SO and I are big fans of breakfast/lunch places so when we saw this up in Carmel, we were on board to check it out. When we walked in around 2 pm we had a 2-3 min wait with no Java. At first glance, the place was pretty bland and boring - a few ikea notes throughout. No issue there just not overwhelmingly warm. Ok, so what.... Maybe the drinks are good and boy could we use a Bloody Mary like the one on the wall ad. After we sat down we checked out the menu and the fine print on the drink section was for a Bloody Mary with wine vodka at 8 or 9 bucks a glass. Translation: 2 way license.... Pass. Our waitress took some time to find us at first but was pleasant enough. I ordered a fancy banana espresso... I think they went to Columbia for the beans - or maybe walked to Starbucks. It took a while to arrive but the result was a nice drink - for $3.99. Then we put in our order. Country fried steak for him. Grilled cheese for me. When our food arrived after a short wait, mine was clearly the kids version. Easy mistake! No harm there. But wait.... Where is the waitress? No where. 5 minutes of looking around, not touching my food, wondering if we should just leave.... 5 or 6 other employees passed, made eye contact, and then vanished. Someone other than our waitress finally came to see why we looked confused and the situation was fixed. For our taste, the quality of the food was enough to call ok, that kind of ok where you walk away full but not really wowed. Ya know? Bottom line is that with food as "ok" as ours was, we believe that the service needs to shine. And it just fell flat on that for us. Maybe it was because we arrived an hour before close. Maybe the waitress had to tend to something - really it could have been anything and we know that. The reality was that when we were able to talk to the staff, were they pleasant enough and even nice? Ok, yes. Was the food "ok"? Yes. But we eat out a lot and we love to fine new gems that make us feel wowed ... So was this a restaurant he and I will likely return to? My mother and I go here all the time when she visits. So far our servers have been friendly, our food delicious (I LOVE the breakfast nachos with Chorizo), and the atmosphere is comfortable. They make a strong effort to use local and natural ingredients in their cooking as well. A lot of their items have gluten free options. read more

Well this was an odd experience. My party of two arrived at this location and thought " how cute" inside. It reminded us of a restaurant we visited in Atlanta with fabulous breakfast. We arrived around 9:45am and sat at the lunch counter instead of a table. Generally this gives you faster service. . .not this time. We ordered a basic pancake breakfast and an omelette breakfast. Then we realized that it was 10:10 and we still did not have any food:-) Then 10:20 came and we realized this was just not going to happen. Our waiter did come over at 10:20 and said "I don't know what is taking your food so long" - duh, well go and check (we thought). It would seem like he would have informed the manager (if they did not already know) and we would have been offered a complimentary muffin or even a coupon to return. Nothing. We usually get pretty good service here, but today was an exception. Our waitress came over and asked us what we wanted to drink. She brought coffee and water. She started to pour the water from a glass pitcher into my glass . The water went everywhere. She poured water into my mother's glass and did the same. There was water everywhere. She then told us that she didn't know what was wrong with pitcher. She poured the water into my husbands glass without incident! She told us that she would replace the wet napkins. She never did. We ordered our food and it came, but we had to ask for toast. When she was picking up our dishes a butter knife fell through my husband's legs. It almost his groin area. She said, "Are you okay Hon! I like this place, and come here every now and then, but today we tried calling three times around 7:30 to place a carry out order with no one picking up. On the 4th try, someone picked up, but couldn't take our order... he needed to find a waitress (first time at a restaurant the person who picked up wasn't trained to take the order). When I showed up, the guy at the front desk said the manager didn't show up so it was chaos. He wasn't able to find a punch card which I requested for the loyalty program. He said he would get help, find it and give it to me. He never did. I then proceeded to wait 10 minutes for them to make my food... though I placed the order 15 minutes ago and came 15 minutes later, the food clearly hadn't been started, which wasn't admitted to me either. My parents and I decided to finally try Wild Eggs. This is quickly becoming my new favorite breakfast place in the Indy area (sorry Patachou). I had the Buffalo Chicken Omelet with potatoes and a blueberry muffin. My mom had the Smokin Hash with an everything muffin, and my dad had the breakfast burrito. I think my mom liked her hash ok, but said she wouldn't get it again. My dad said the burrito was phenomenal and my omelet was packed with flavor and creamy goodness. One of the stars to me was the blueberry muffin. It was so good! The fresh squeezed orange juice truly tasted like eating a fresh, ripe orange. We ended up striking up a conversation with the manager, LeAnn, and she definitely made this experience worth the 5 stars. She was so funny and personable. This morning August 7, 2022 we called Wild Eggs in Carmel to check on available seating outside. We were told by a woman who answered the phone around 8am that there was seating and no need for a reservation as much too warm for people to sit outside anyway. Well, the reason one would need to be in an outside atmosphere is if they or a family member have a health issue and needed extra protection from Covid-19 or any other virus around. That is why we called. She would not take a reservation but it does say on the website that they take reservations. We arrived and there were 4 tables outside along the walk and all were taken. I believe many others also needed to be in a safer environment. We were told it would be 15 minutes and she took my husbands phone number. We waited over 25 minutes in our car and when we went in to check on the wait all the tables outside had been filled by the others waiting that arrived after we put our name in. Nobody would even speak to us as we stood waiting to ask about what was going on. We left. We will not return. read more

Attended the soft opening for Wild Eggs in Carmel - it was packed, which I expected but learned that they not only handled their 200 covers of invited guests but also took in nearly 150 additional walk-in covers. I was pleasantly surprised with their practice run, kudos to the wait staff and kitchen. I had the opportunity to sample several menu items with my family and they were all outstanding, can't wait to go back this weekend for the breakfast burrito which several of my friends said was incredible. A+ for Kalamity Katy's Border Benedict, Maria's Chilaquiles, The Wild Chicken and Waffle and the Pops Poppin Egg Salad Sandwich (pickles really add a kick). Wild Egg is definitely a place to visit. I had heard about this place long before I finally had the chance of eating here. Upon arrival, I noticed the simple outside of the building. Not too exciting; Just a simple building with the "Wild Eggs" logo. When I walked inside, I noticed the clean photos on the wall, and the bright colors; turquoise, pastel yellow, orange. After being seated, we were granted the best waitress ever. I believe her name was Jordan. She was extremely infectious personality that made everyone at the table smile. By the end, we felt like friends. Now- to the food. I ordered the build your own omelet with a side of skillet potatoes and a blueberry muffin. What can I say, it was delicious! The mushrooms in the omelet had so much flavor. Also, the blueberry muffin was one of the best I've ever had! Good portions too! Overall, this is definitely a place to visit. On Sunday it was very busy 35 minute wait for table but immediate seating available at the counter. The counter the seats are arranged to assure your knee will be rubbing the person next to you. For me this is awkward and by the look of the guy next to me...for him too. The server took my order and it arrived fast and before the others that had place theirs before me. Someone from the kitchen brought out the food and kindly asked if I needed anything else. I told him silverware as well as syrup for my waffle, He promptly produced a fork and knife (no spoon). He came back after a short while with the syrup. The waffle was slightly cooked on the side I began eating and gooey on the side I was finishing (I only ate 3/4 due to it being under-cooked). On the positive - The grits were delicious but drippy when attempting to eat them with a fork, and the orange juice was fresh squeezed and as good as expected. For a waffle, grits, OJ & coffee I paid $19.50 after tax. Seems more pricey than Yelp's "$$" to me. I would return on a less busy day perhaps in a year but I will never order the waffle again from them. Another Broken Egg down the street will remain my go to breakfast restaurant. read more

This place isn't much to look at from the outside but the menu is pretty creative, the food is excellent and the service is as warm and friendly as you'd get at your local diner. I started with the cinnamon roll ($7) which came baked in a skillet and was so good. To be honest, I often find restaurant cinnamon rolls don't quite live up to good old Cinnabon, but this was definitely better. The croissant dough and vanilla bean icing took it from ordinary to extraordinary. For my entree, I had the wild mushroom eggs bennie ($11) with grilled tomato, roasted tomato hollandaise and balsamic reduction. It was really delicious, and I appreciated that they cooked the poached eggs perfectly to medium (soft yolk with a runny center, firm white). My husband really enjoyed his Hoosier bennie which came with a breaded pork tenderloin and a buttermilk biscuit instead of an English muffin. About the only bad thing I can say about the food is that the skillet potatoes that came with our dishes weren't great, but they weren't bad by any means, just kind of bland. We didn't have to wait long for our table (10-15 minutes) but they have tasty free coffee while you wait (and didn't charge me when I brought my cup to the table once we were seated), which is really nice. read more

My food tasted good, but we had a pretty terrible server. She repeated our orders back to us because there were some vegans amongst us and even after that, the order was still not correct. She even told us that when she brought the food and didn't even try to fix the mistake. There was also an ordeal when trying to pay because the menu had a lower price than their computer. Best breakfast place in all of Indy, unequivocally and without a doubt! We had Mr Potato Head casserole, words cannot capture the deliciousness. We got banana pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon for the kids with sides of fresh fruit. I've never seen my picky toddlers eat so much. They even liked the cheesy potatoes that came with my meal. There was a bit of a wait, so one of the staff brought us complimentary cups with fruit in them to help keep the kids occupied and happy. There is also coffee for while you wait. This place is pretty good. I've only been here once and got the Mr. Potato Head casserole and enjoyed it. I will say that I ordered an iced coffee and our server told me they don't turn on that machine very much but would bring me one anyway. I was kind of confused by this statement considering they're a breakfast place, but he was right. I took a sip of it and it was the worst iced coffee I think I've ever had--I couldn't drink it, and this was after I put cream and sugar in it. Very disappointing what was a favorite breakfast spot when we do go eat is now struggling. For $60 I left hungry because the food was just terrible, overcooked yet cold somehow. Toast that was almost like pre toasted and then microwaved. Crazy salty gravy. So many issues and when we talked to our server she just continued to say that's how they serve that. Great brunch food!! I love love love the eggs Benedict. I just had the standard eggs Benedict but there are several options to try unique variations of eggs Benedict. The side of tater tot potatoes are worth the carbs! They also had great service. My pregnant friend started to get dizzy since she had been fasting all morning for a lab test so I went to the waitress stand and got a juice which they got me quickly and free of charge. The place is great but does have a "chain restaurant" feel. I also don't recommend take out. They put it together really well but it's not as tasty as it is eating it fresh in the restaurant. read more
