Went here with a couple of our friends and their kids. Awesome, especially if you have kids. A bunch of beer on tap, wine, cider, soda, etc. The food looked good, bar type. Have an on tap Octoberfest and it was deep, rich and refreshing! The kids had a blast with the games! They have 2 bowling lanes with smaller bowling balls like bocce, fun for ALL AGES hahaha Service was friendly and everything was clean. *Overall, great place for parents who want beer and food and have stuff to distract children*

Excellent beer from this small local Atascadero brewery. Their German style pilsener is delicious. It's very comparable to a Bavarian Pilsener which is not as hoppy as the northern German Pilsener beers. Very refreshing, well balanced and simply easy to drink. I tried 2 flights of four beers and all were tasty. The place is a Brewhouse family oriented atmosphere. My servers were both very knowledgeable. Cheers .

Tyler was great! Beers were very good & Cauliflower was A+ as was Pretzel! Beer mustard was nice & cheese sauce & aioli were delicious!

Can't forget the kids with the snack plate and hot dog!

WOW. What can be said about a brewery such as this?! AMAZING BEER, AMAZING FOOD, and the number one family owned and oriented business in town! Ryan the brewmaster is truly a master of his craft. Working along head chef Ben to create a well versed menu with plenty of options for everyone. Great local WINE is also available here at Wild Fields. This spot is a great place to bring the whole family to. Sincerely something for everyone here!

Welcomed greeting upon entry, they serve typical bar food and they have a play area for kids. When our son was younger I'd love that, but in my current state of 50 something I find it noisy and a nuisance. Don't hate, just speaking my truth. I ordered a flight of their dark/malty options and I thought the unstuck in time, but my fav was mountain moonlight. Thought all were drinkable with three bridges being my least favorite. Must say hubby's license to fill IPA was refreshing and very drinkable. They have outdoor seating, but too hot on this particular day. Though wouldn't call it a beer garden. Must say food took wayyyy too long to come out and they served everything together. Expected the artichoke dip to come out first. Will say it was better than most other breweries and chicken breast was cooked well.

New favorite family friendly destination for us in Atascadero. I had heard they were good for families and I knew they had received some beer awards so it was hard not to stop here. Great location with a huge open area with games, a toddler station, and tiny bowling. The staff here is super friendly and makes sure to take care of you. The beers are pretty good, we've tried a few including from the cask and have enjoyed them all. Food is pretty decent, though it can take awhile. But, we always end up staying awhile so it's all good. Great time meeting other people here and so many great options for kids to stay entertained. Definitely a must stop for us anytime we come up over the grade.

They have Touch Tines, but you can't really hear the music. Family friendly, arcade, roller ball, lots of seating. No Haze, but some pretty good Weat Coast IPA's.

    Brewer of the year

Stopped in for dinner with my kids ages 6 and 3. Perfect atmosphere and menu for both adults and kids! Food was delicious, great array of beers, and yummy dessert choices. The fact I could enjoy 2.5 hours with my husband, while my kids ran around safely and amused within sight, is a huge WIN!

Super kid friendly Brewery that serves food. Easy location off the freeway and lots of games and toys to keep the littles occupied. We stopped on our way back from Big Sur and it was a great pit stop to tire the kids out before a long journey home. Yummy soft pretzel with cheese, elite bowl, Mac n cheese and Rueben. I tried the Mango Double IPA and it was really good.

    What's in the tanks

What a fun place to visit for the whole family! They have arcade games for the kids and young at heart. Certain days they have trivia night (I think Monday) then bingo nights. They like to keep it fun for the customers. We had dinner the last time and their food is amazing. The flavors of everything were excellent! Our beertender & waiter was Tyler and he was fantastic. So friendly & knowledgeable. He suggested the Ruben which was so flavorful tender & delicious. I got a side of the potato salad also so good. My husband had the elote burger again so delicious and cooked perfectly. Both paired perfectly with an in house ipa & ale. We knew their beers & sours were great but the food needs recognition! I believe Benjamin was in the kitchen and he deserves praise. We'll definitely be back especially since now we know how great the food is!

I knew of Spent Grain when Cal Coast Beer Company collaborated on Party Pants, a pale ale. I…read morefurther knew about the "brewery" when I started research on my SLO beer guide project and seeing Chris on a recent podcast, I knew this was the sort of brewery I wanted to get into. Chris isn't new to the beer scene and has been around since the early 90s brewing beer as the former owner/brewer of Dunbar. Nowadays, his operation is small. Not sure "nano" accurately describes his operation in A-Town, but after tasting his beer... Tucked in the halls of a mix-use building, with a commercial street front on El Camino Real, with residential upstairs, his placement is very unique. One does not just walk in, from off the street, sit down and order a pint. No, this is more of a speakeasy type brewery, the first I have come across, where you must first, find the right door and second text Chris to get in. I met him at the door on a Tuesday and he took me into his brewery, just as one other guy was getting ready to head out. It's one of those places you can really get to the people and the owner because it's so small and inviting. It was brew day and the smells were inviting, boiled wort and spent grain. A very unique spot as you walk through a roll up door into the brewery and see all that is going on in this place. All sorts of items dotted the walls, patches and pins, wall art, stickers and skateboard decks. All sorts of stainless steel from Ss Brewtech line two walls, the heart of his operation. The beer? Fantastic! This is the second brewery in A-Town I have visited and reviewed and his beers are all quality. What's even better is he's brewing with some experimental hops you don't normally see. I missed Bodacious, as it wasn't on tap, but was able to sample Celestial Krush, a 6% pale ale, Strata Da Da Da, a WCIPA and Carpenter Red, with a taster of the Robust Porter. Each beer masterfully crafter and full of flavor. Won't be the last time I text 805-464-7172 to gain access to what Chris has created. Definitely make this stop part of your A-Town adventure. Great guy. Great beer.

The biggest selling point to me is that people said on Yelp that the ciders are not too sweet, and that's EXACTLY the case. I'm so use to every cider I have always being really sweet, but these are not, just really good flavor. There are multiple ciders on tap, each one having their own backstory. You might think, cider is cider, are the flavors really that different? But each one comes from a different varietal blend of apples and they're also brewed using different methods. There's a menu that tells you about the apples of each one. Each one has a different alcohol content, and they have very unique flavors. I highly recommend getting a sampler flight, then getting a glass of your favorite one. Just be careful, some of them are pretty strong haha so uber or have a designated driver. I also want to add, the bartender was extremely friendly and loved talking about the ciders, and the entire room has a nice whimsical ambiance. The bar has an old-english pub feel to it, and there's a stage in the back of the room that I guess they do music performances on. We came later in the day and had just missed the music, the bartender said that they do a community jam every week where people just bring their instruments and jam out. Sounds really fun! Oh yea, I also forgot to mention as we were about to leave some locals came in and we were talking to them for a bit. Super nice people, this place definitely curates a really welcoming environment great for both locals and out of towners alike. And parking is super easy, it has its own lot, and there's also plenty of street parking because it's located in an industrial cul-de-sac.
