A relaxed brewery with huge outdoor areas. Definitely the place to drink if have kids, lol. Went for flight of 4 to try ones that sounded interesting, since no idea which one would be good. Definitely paralysis from analysis with many choices:) All has it's own unique character, so just gotta try a flight and find the one you like to move onto pints I guess. Had to drive out of Paso so the flight was just perfect refreshment to share with wife. Had doubts about the green one, maybe that's Lucky Lager? But it was surprisingly good and was my favorite one! This place is awesome!!! It's so big and spacious. Great for when you're done wine tasting and just want some other non wine alcohol. We were over wine tasting after spending thousands on bottles and needed a change, and maybe not spending so much on bottles. Lol. We came to get some beers. I got the Michelada and a hazy. I didn't like their michelada, it was too tomato-y and not sour enough. Should have asked for a chelada. It wasn't good. But their hazy IPA was good. Stick with regular beers! Got their fries and burger for the toddler. He liked the fries and ate the burger later. Place is super spacious for large gatherings or just a meet up. I had heard great things about the Paso area breweries, so we decided to give Barrelhouse a try on the way to the beach and they didn't disappoint! The brewery had a lot of outdoor seating with a nice waterfall to enjoy your beverage near. We didn't get any food but my husband had a couple beers which he said were crisp & refreshing. Inside the store they had cute merchandise for men and women, the employee was helpful and also informed us of a sale they had going on. We can't wait to go back to try the food! read more

We did some flights at the bar, and ended up staying longer in order to share one more drink, the chocolate porter slushy ... whaaaat, a beer slushy? YUMYUMYUM!!! All of the beer was delicious, but that slushy beer was insane. The beer tender was super knowledgeable, the merchandise was great, and we ended up taking home a 6 pack. There is a fantastic outdoor space, both tranquil and fun with a stage and a great band playing. We will definitely return here! read more

BarrelHouse Brewing Co. is a family friendly drink and eat hangout spot in Paso Robles in the Tin City collection of breweries, distilleries and wineries. It has a large outdoor footprint with ample outside seating and play features for kids and family. It has a smaller inside, barstool and bar table set up for rainier days. We were there on a weekend in February and they had their burger shack up and running with some of the best sweet potato fries we've ever eaten. They also had a solo artist playing outside near the picnic tables. Bar service is order at the bar with a separate food kiosk. Families and dogs as well as date nights and buddy groups all are welcome. They do need to staff some more bartenders because service was a bit slow and food service also took quite a bit of time - as in 30 minutes for a single order of sweet potato fries. Overall, this is a chill hangout spot with the potential for an all day stay. read more

Their basic cheeseburger made me throw up. I didnt even buy alcohol just the burger. My friends food looked awesome and they loved it, but Immediately I could tell the burger was off based on the weird tomatoes they have. Im not a picky eater, something was off with the burger! This company was genius, we bought a cup of noodles for $1, then donated it back at the end of the counter to the local charity, LOL. Things we do for beer. Today they also had a fundraiser, see pictures. Also cool car shows, BBQ, DJ, etc. Daily specials, see picture or website. Free pretzels which "forces" us to drink more, lol. Oh, and of course good beer. My favorite is the Ipanero IPA. Atmosphere - Cool spot. Cool decor. See pictures. Indoor, outdoor, tented, lounge, etc. Dog and kid friendly. Indoor and outdoor bars throughout the property, mobile bar set ups available, etc. Amphitheater, events; see picture or website. Sample events - Trivia, line dancing, etc. Food trucks - The front one was open, but the rear one was closed. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm. Street parking. I can't remember if they have private parking...? Or maybe it was closed today for an event...? Service - Good. Price - $9 a beer + generous tips. Expensive, but that is the price for quality. We stop here every year the day before the Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Festival. It's a big facility with lots of seating both indoors and outside. A stage for live music outside along with food trucks. Service is always spot on but they were out of a lot of the beers on draft. They also sell cans to go. This is one of the far and few breweries with a beer garden that reminded me of the ones in Bavaria. It had a large beer garden with a kids play area and bench seating. If it had more benches, trees for shading, and an indoor restaurant it would totally be a Bavarian beer garden. Oh, let's not forget the traditional pretzels, which I'm surprised few breweries have them. I'd like to say I found a great place, but it's no secret. Another one of Paso's great things to do. Love the brews, and really enjoyed the food truck featured, Smash'n Roll. With a couple of buddies, we invaded one of Tin City's best. Large seating under a covered tent in front, summer chairs around firepits and patio tables with umbrellas on the side, and more of both in the back along with a pro stage (yes, major bands, check the schedule). I ordered a couple of different beers: an oatmeal stout (4.5 stars) and a Citrus Ale (4.5 stars). Along with great customer services and fair prices ($8-9 for 16 oz) and the awesome atmosphere, this alone is one great place. But now onto the food truck, wow. They offer smashburgers and lobster rolls (thus the name, Smash'n Roll), salads, fried chicken sandwiches, fries. Well, I had a $19 smashburger, and it was surprisingly fantastic, no perfect. We came here on a Saturday and it was busy. We stayed at the bar area to grab a couple drinks. I got a the root beer hard seltzer and it was really good. The best beer in Paso! Great place for entertainment too and staff.... The best!! When I found out I had to move out of town, I will go out of my way and make the drive to visit as often as possible. Start my visit there with the Michelada made with Sunny Daze then move on to try something new. Christmas time I got the stout with the peppermint stick. My last visit I tried the sour, (I've never had a bad sour there) and if you want to try an actually good, more robust seltzer, this is the place. Then when we're done, stick the car up with our go to favs (Dazed, Hazy, Sunny Daze, Mango IPA, a couple of crowlers) and head home. Can't wait to go back. read more

Putting aside the cheesy water feature in the outside sitting area, this seems like a nice place to gather & enjoy a beer. Had the 'Black', an oatmeal stout, it was smooth and creamy, no bitterness, and just the right amount of back of the tongue hops balance. The Double hazy was good, had some nice late and dry hopped additions, but no bittering, beginning of boil hops, so lacked balance. Have come to this location since the beginning. I've watched it grow into the monster it is now. While they have gotten huge the beer is still my favorite and staff is still amazing. When places grow they usually forget about what got them there and the people aspect typically dies off. The staff is what makes me love coming to Barrelhouse. They always take the time to answer my questions. I hate most beer I'm not into IPA's unless it's the Barrelhouse Michelada.Sunny Daze forever rules in my opinion. Love the merchandise here and highly recommend. This location has amazing outdoor seating areas, outdoor games. Good beer, disappointing service. BarrelHouse Brewing has a great selection of beer -- we especially enjoyed the hard root beer. However, we were really disappointed to find out they don't offer ice. Over the course of three visits in a single week, we were told repeatedly (and rather rudely) that they had no ice because they have to "go out and buy bags" and couldn't spare any. For a popular tourist spot, it's surprising they haven't fixed the ice machine or figured out a better solution. Hard root beer over ice is a simple request -- it's a shame the service didn't match the quality of the drinks. read more

It started off as a solid Saturday visiting BHBC using a gift card from a first place raffle ticket prize! Great atmosphere while watching NCAA Basketball. Channel turned to watch baseball instead...asked the eldest of the bar tenders to turn it back to the Elite 8 game...he replied it's up to him...him referring to the bartender meathead with many tattoos and a large mole on his neck. The man mentioned above looked away and said baseball only, disregarding me and others around, long time customers, saying baseball and nothing else. Sitting hear enjoying the Tyler Rich concert. Musics great, beer is good but once again we have to smell the disgusting porta pottys. It's nasty and spoils the overall event. I've complained before but apparently they're too busy or don't care to correct the problem. At least empty them before the concert so nobody has to put up with the stench. We don't have those issues at Cal Coast Beer Co. or the new Paso Robles Brewery. There's a lot of competition in our area so step up. Also wouldn't hurt to change out your food truck. I was going to give four stars, then I realized there are just too many negatives. As another person mentioned the overwhelming sewer smell hits you the moment you approach the door. This needs to be addressed immediately. I was there today and there were so many dogs, it was like being at a dog park, which is fine if they're well behaved. There were so many dogs that were barking a lot, whining etc. I don't go to a brewery to be annoyed, but to relax. Barking dogs are not a good vibe. The food is from a food truck and not very good and expensive. The grounds are nice with good seating and a waterfall. There are some games provided. The beer selection is excellent and it's too bad that the rest of the experience is not. Barrel house, please consider banning dogs, get better food and take care of that horrible smell. read more

Each year BH offers Society Memberships. Each year it's a Fraud. Two years in a row I have gotten to "checkout" entered my credit card info and hit submit. It "spins processing" but never processes. This year I then tried entering the card details again assuming the membership is still in my "Cart" like it works with every Retailer on the planet, and then it says "memberships" no longer available.
