I had a craving for sushi last week and since Wild Ginger is the only sushi place near me, I placed a take out order on my way home from work. "45 minutes," the girl on the phone said. Shocked but willing to wait, I wasted some time and came 45 minutes later. I paid and I waited, and waited, and waited. I noticed the small lobby become crowded with other people waiting for their takeout orders, too. 20 minutes later, my order finally arrived. After my long wait, I couldn't wait to have my sushi. The mango roll, which had spicy tuna, really turned me off. The spicy tuna mixture had piecey, odd-colored tuna and tobiko mixed in (probably to bulk it up). My Buddha roll was mushy and while I usually love it, I couldn't get past the texture of this roll. I definitely splurged price-wise with this meal and left extremely unsatisfied with both the food and service. Time to find a new sushi place! read more

Amazingly nice staff and great sushi and sashimi. If you want something else the curry is incredible as well. Something corny they do though is serve every sushi platter with a fishtank decoration for some reason. Not that that's a deal breaker in anyway I just thought I'd all em out on it. read more

Here's the deal with this place: It's a great take out restaurant. If you don't mind tipping 15-20% for a smelly atmosphere and mediocre service, then by all means you'll love this place. I have to say though the food is exceptional and has never made us sick. The price is very reasonable and if you look on their website, you can sometimes find coupons too. read more

Great food, horrible service. The wait staff has been less than desirable for a few months now, but our latest visit makes me never want to return. It's a shame because the food is good. The restaurant was mostly empty, with plenty of people working last night, but the wait time for getting anything, like forks to eat, drink refills, and a straw that we asked for 3 times, was out of control. Calling the health inspector!!!!!! Wild Ginger 2 needs the health inspector to come in! This review page requires at least a one star rating, they don't deserve that. Our service was bad, their teapots are broken and they still use them. They put this plastic dirty tube around the spout to fix it. The food tasted like freezer burn went in the microwave too long. Our waitress disappeared. We were waiting for over a half hour, she brought tea but no sugar and it took at least 20 minutes to get said sugar. We ordered vegetarian wonton soup and received NON vegetarian wonton soup. We also saw a waitress touch the floor and then fix something on the wall and put her bare hands into salad and serve it to a customer. We complained to someone that claimed to be the manager and she argued with us! read more

Not a rave place for sure. I ordered a so-called Thai dish, Eggplant Seafood. It tasted identical to a dark hoisin sauce, just like in a Chinese place. Didn't note any of the Thai tastes I have experienced before. Lobster tail in the mix was stale, old, and tasteless. It was good, not great. Service was excellent. Building is freezing cold. Would go back IF weather was bad and I didn't feel like driving far. Kind of pricy for run-of-mill Chinese food, even if they call it Thai food. read more

I wish 0 stars was an option. We made a reservation which was a waste of time. We waited half an hour for our table and then never saw a server. Asked for a manager twice. After 45 minutes of no service - no manager or sever - we had to leave. We won't be back. read more

This place is a vegetarians dream plus meat-eaters like my hubby will like it too. My hubby is a very picky "Meat and Potatoes" kind of man, while on the other hand I am a vegetarian. Their food is very delicious and extremely affordable. I have been to both locations and the Jamison location is my favorite. read more

I was really bummed that the pineapple fried rice was not traditional pineapple fried rice. It had more of a Mexican flavor, had peppers in it and the rice was mushy. It did not contain the cashews or raisins or curry powder but the chicken and shrimp in it was cooked nicely. The gyoza was decent. read more

I've been to this restaurant a few times and service is inconsistant. The last time my dish came out 5-10 minutes after my mom's so hers got cold while she waited for me. There was a couple at the next table over who had serious issues wtih the kitchen and service staff that night. The food is ussually really tasty and it's BYOB, but it's not cheap and it's cold in the winter. So, definitely give it a try, enjoy the food selection but take your own beverages to bring down the cost. read more

Food is delicious and service is excellent. If you are a frequent customer the sushi chef will even make you something special on the house. It does get really busy on the weekends though, so wait times are long.... The girl serving us was super sweet though and knew the menu well- A great experience overall! read more

I live near the other Wild Ginger (in Huntingdon Valley) but have given up on it because the shaky service overcame the very good food. But this weekend my wife & I were near the Jamison location & checked it out. Good decision! The kitchen performed up to our expectations, & the friendly server enhanced the experience. Our entrees were massamum curry & mango shrimp. The meal ended on a high note with Exotic Bomba for dessert. This is a refreshing blend of 3 fruit sorbets. read more

This restaurant is awful, I ate their with two friends and the food was cold, and when we let them know they can out and yelled at us and told us we were wrong. Believe me, I even asked them to touch it and they refused to and walked away screaming. This restaurant is missing something. Do not waste your time here, go to another restaurant. I would say try 86 W state st in doylestown, or Ota Ya in Warrington both are wonderful. Stay away from here!!! Not worth the bad dinner read more

My wife and I took take out tonight hoping for a good dinner. The vegetables and rice were both extremely overcooked.. The pad thai had absolutely no taste and was dry as a bone and the worst we have ever had. The pineapple rice dish was extremely disappointing and did not taste like thai food. The food we bought tonight went right to the garbage can. Avoid this thai restaurant is substandard. read more

Reasonably priced with a really good selection. My wife and myself like that it is byob and they have a small little sushi bar if you don't want to dine at the tables. They offer some good Thai dishes and anyone will be sure to find something they will like on the menu. 5 stars for the delicious food. read more

I would recommend going to the one in South Hampton. They hired a bunch of new people at the one in Jamison and they aren't very good. They gave me meat the last time I ordered when I specified that I wanted the Seitan. I'm a vegetarian and have been for 8 years. When I called to complain the manager checked the order receipt and upon seeing I HAD in fact requested that it be meat-free, told me it must have been seitan I was eating and not meat (as if I can't tell the difference). She gave me a discount for next time anyway, and when me and my boyfriend ordered tonight, he brought home the food and we discovered they had given us ice cream instead of mochi. Not really a big deal. We had just been looking forward to mochi. I used to love it there but on top of screwing up twice, their food is just not as good as it once was. The general tso's seitan isn't nearly as crispy and their pad thai is dry. Hopefully they see this review and try to step it up. I'll just go to South Hampton from now on as I've never had an issue there. read more

My 3 sisters and I had lunch and as it's BYOB, brought our own wine. Our waitress (complete with blue hair) was attentive and sweet, and happily brought wine glasses while offering a cork screw. We had Pad Thai with chicken, shrimp, Asparagus with Tofu and Wild Ginger Seafood soup. Everything was served hot and it was all delicious. Based on that experience, my family went there for dinner last night, around 5:30 pm. We were the first dinner patrons and picked our now favorite spot in a booth near the window. We had salmon/cucumber sushi as appetizers, and it was good. We're new to Thai food, so we all decided to order it. My adult son, who eats anything, ordered Green Curry, my husband and I ordered Massamum curry and Thai garlic sauce with chicken. My son's green curry was delicious, but barely edible - it was incredibly hot! He dumped all the rice he could find into it and choked it down through watering eyes. My husband said his curry was ok, but he would never get it again. I tasted it, and even though I love all food, I didn't like it at all...maybe I just don't like some Thai food. My Thai garlic sauce with chicken was practically cold, and had an offish oily flavor. Not wanting to complain, I drowned it in soy sauce and ate it, but I can't say that I enjoyed it. We were very excited to order dessert, as they really looked yummy. My guys liked their ice cream parfait concoctions of coffee and chocolate, but my fried ice cream was horrible! The exterior dough tasted raw, gummy and had that same offish oily flavor that my stir-fried meal had. It was topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce, but the exterior shell made it absolutely inedible and it was removed from the check. I think that it was fried in oil that was not hot enough, so it soaked up all the oil rather than cooking the dough and creating a crispy crust. I THINK THIS RESTAURANT OR MAYBE IT'S JUST THE CHEF WORKING LAST NIGHT, REUSED COOKING OIL UNTIL IT WAS UNHEALTHY AND GROSS-TASTING. I HOPE THEY READ THIS AND STOP THIS PRACTICE! read more
