We ordered the lettuce wraps, Korean street noodles, a mocktail, and a non Corona. (They're down with the nons, which is a GREAT addition to any menu. Owner, thank you for that, I desperately needed to trick my brain into thinking I was drinking a real beer tonight.) The menu is diverse, they have simple known dishes, and different styles of dishes you haven't tried before to mix it up a little. Give the hare a try? Absolute yes. After passing this place multiple times, a group of us decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, this place really needs to make some changes... There is a large parking lot with free parking. When we walked in, the place was pretty dead. Typically not a great sign around dinner time. Our server must have been new because he had very nervous energy and kept forgetting things. We couldn't quite figure out the vibe for this place. Is it Minnesota? Is it 90's? It just felt off. The food: the wings were pretty decent. I wish they had more seasoning on them! I am a recently diagnosed celiac. I very much wanted to like this place because the amount of GF/gluten-friendly restaurants in this area are slim. The two positives: 1) Our waitress. For the life of me I cannot remember her name, but she was delightful. Blonde with an easy smile, super attentive to our table, even when we were disappointed. 2) Patio seating. It was nice to have the option to choose sitting inside or outside during the summer months. The patio looked clean and well-maintained. Now...the critiques. 1) The lack of menu modifications. This is a big one for me. To me, this is a sign of a very insecure and lazy chef. The only way I can figure justifying no customer menu modifications is if you were eating somewhere with a Michelin star. This place does not (and food criticism to follow below). What frustrated me is that -- as someone with anxiety -- I checked the menu online. The fine print at the bottom of their physical menu did not make it onto their website at all. I checked again after leaving and still did not see any disclaimer upon further review. I think that's really telling about how unpopular this particular kitchen policy would be if it was made more public. It should not be one chef's option to decide what the appropriate "flavor profile" for a dish is if customers can see aspects from other dishes that they would enhance their experience with a meal. Having a variety rich menu should allow for wonderful offerings from other dishes to brought in for customer-specific tastes. Swapping out different kinds of aioli was one feature that my father mentioned that would not be permitted by this chef's ego trip. 2) The Cheese curds were greasy. And yes, fried food naturally has some grease. Unfortunately the cloth napkins are not a conducive way to remove excess grease. Further, these cheese curds were greasier than other comparable restaurants in the area. It was so bad I had some very fun intestinal distress after leaving the restaurant. So. The first thing I put in my mouth from this restaurant left me feeling ill. Overall, this experience and this menu knowledge was an incredibly unsatisfying endeavor. I cannot, however, bring myself to give one star though, no matter how upset bad food makes me. The service was honestly good and the facilities were nice. The mission of this restaurant -- to serve gluten-free/vegetarian meals in a location that doesn't have a whole lot of other options -- is admirable. We picked this place because we wanted somewhere to watch the basketball game, and the bar was honestly the perfect spot. Service was super friendly, food came out fast and hot--always a win. My husband did his homework beforehand and found out they have pretty high standards for sourcing their meat, which we love so it was a super easy decision to come. We started with an order of the Caulafel Bites--he liked them, but I thought they were a little... funky? They were shaped like little pucks and pretty dense. I was super hungry haha so we ALSO got an order of the Burrata Caprese (basically a burrata + tomato bruschetta with crostinis situation), and WOW--this was amazing. The bed of arugula underneath the burrata felt slightly random but that may be because I'm not a veggie girl :p For my entrée, I got the Steak Frites, and this was easily my favorite part of the meal. Perfectly cooked steak with that rich house béarnaise sauce and asparagus--SO good. It also came with a side of fries that always makes a meal ten times better! My husband got the Impossible version of the Royale burger, and unfortunately it just didn't hit for him--and the Moroccan fries were a miss too. I was waiting to visit because I heard there were a few kinks to work out with a newly opened restaurant. I found of couple of girlfriends to come with me to try them out. We visited on a Tuesday night for dinner. The packing lot was packed was surprised to find that it wasn't super busy inside. I was expecting a 20 min wait but was seating right away. I was the only one with a drink order. The cocktails were a little spendy ($13+) for my budget so I went with a $8 Mocktail. Truthfully, it was the best thing that was ordered that night. It was light, refreshing. And I didn't get the woo-woo's when I stood up. I wanted to try an appetizer. It was a toss up between the cheese curds and the onion rings. Table consensus was the onion rings. Now I am aware this is a scratch kitchen and caters to food allergies (gluten free), but these onion rings did not hit for me. I prefer battered or breaded, but the chickpea flour batter was bland and tasteless. They were over-fried and dry. Even though the menu states it comes with a dipping sauce of choice, we weren't given options and came without anything....not even ketchup. After we all tried one, we had to flag down a server for ranch and ketchup. For entrees, Kate got Yellow Curry Bowl. She didn't like the chicken skewer but did like the crunch chick peas on top of the rice. Emily got a Cowboy Way Smashburger. Now that did come with a Gluten bun and looked delicious. I ordered the Cubano. I love Cuban sandwiches and wanted to see how theirs faired. It was not the greatest. Usually the bread is grilled like a panini, theirs was soft and almost like I received the butt of the loaf. It was wrinkled like leather but wasn't hard. It was tough to chew though because it was very dry. No much moisture in the pulled pork and ham. Could have used more mustard for flavor. It came with fried and both Emily and I got the regular fries. Some were over fried and had no soft potato left. There was a side of house aioli and that was pretty good. I dipped my Cubano in it to add some flavor. For positives, the staff was friendly. She checked on us multiple times and was a great waitress. No ordering and billing errors. The place was clean. I didn't visit the restroom but the other 2 did, and they liked its style. We also loved the 90s decor. We stood in front of the album wall and pointed out which ones we listened to as a teen. Also took a group selfie in from of the phone booth near the front door. If you have dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten allergy), this place is for you. Heard about this place on facebook. Basically a sports bar with bar food but made in a more healthy way. Randomly tried it late Friday night before a movie. Walked in and got seated quickly. They'd only been open for a month at the time so I think staff was still learning some stuff but they were very friendly and helpful. Luckily they just started doing happy hour at 8pm so we tried a few food items and drinks. Food amd drinks were good but they did forget one item we ordered. We also played some games in their arcade even though it was a little pricey, still fun though. Overall a good experience and great price for happy hour. Service was bad, she was the bartender and had Very little interest in being our server. Appetizer came out with our meal, asked for an aioli to be left off, she agreed but it didn't happen. Other items were not allowed to be modified. We split the bill - items were wrong on both bills. The bar area has tv's and opens up to the beautiful private patio via a garage door. Seating consists of bar area, high top tables and partial booths. Game room has a variety of games. Food menu ranges from chicken wings, burgers, appetizers, and other foods with a Moroccan flare, variety of cookie desserts, beers, wines, n/a beverages, and creative cocktails. Service was friendly but on the slow side due to establishment just opening ; i am sure this will greatly improve with time. They have pull tabs and etabs but what a huge disappointment that they chose to support Blaine over the smaller much Spring Lake Park that really needs the support. They don't let you modify food orders, which it doesn't say anywhere online. 3/4 family members have celiac so we wanted to try this place. I looked at the online menu to make sure there was something everyone would eat (we are plain jane, nothing fancy eaters). Went there for Father's Day only to find out that they won't do substitutions because they want to honor the chef's flavor combinations. Seriously? So I can't get a grilled chicken breast substituted for the burger patty on the sandwich that otherwise sounds perfect...because that doesn't keep with the chef's flavor profile? How ridiculous and pretentious to care more about your chef's "profile" than your customers' satisfaction. Our waitress (who was lovely) suggested that there is something on the menu for everyone, but honestly, the only other thing was a chicken sandwich with none of the things that I wanted (no bacon, BBQ, onion ring) or a plain grilled chicken breast with fingerling potatoes. I could settle for that, but why? I'd rather go somewhere were we can get order something that excites us rather than settling. The one thing we did order was the GF cheese curds, which were good, but super greasy. I'm sure for more adventurous eaters, it's a great menu, but this isn't some Michelin starred restaurant that you would expect to only eat what they give you. We were excited to try this. When you walk in it seems cool and back to the 90's, which is fun, but it is so LOUD! (We are in our 40's and don't mind noise). We were a group of 4 and it was hard to have conversations. The service was so slow, even though we were in no hurry, we still would like drinks or even water refilled! It took over 20 minutes to get drinks and our food took an hour and a half and that was the appetizers.The food was fine, nothing special. The service was just so damn slow that it ruined the mood. I had a steak sandwich that had good flavor but was small. It included no sides. It was priced the same you'd expect a side of fries or chips. We sat at the bar as we usually do when we try places. My first impressions where very good reall clean nicely done place gave me a whiskey bar type vibe. Now what I say is no slight of the place because we enjoyed it but the more I looked around and read the menu it seemed more and more like whoevers concept this was had my level of ADHD....ninja turtle menu items, record from the 90's, stars like 1st Ave, coffe bags for sale,darker finishes, leather, kinda a surf wagon truck that advertised Bondi Beach ice cream, thai noodles, smash burgers, wings, a video game corner with claw games! I like it all but just seemed like they couldn't decide what they wanted to do with the place! We enjoyed a very good smash burger and some great dry rubbed Moroccan wings!
