    Wild Heaven Beer, Decatur

Super busy on a Saturday afternoon but everyone was in a great mood. We're drinking beer! A warehouse sort of feel here but it had a pretty good vibe with live music and an organized queue. Amazingly, they have both Wolf Mountain and Kaya wines available - two excellent vineyards I've visited in the North Georgia mountains. Yes, they have Emergency Drinking Beer but I enjoyed my pint of their "Euro-Style Pilsner" that was excellent. Great to sit on comfy seat, sip a tasty brew and watch the world go by! Before coming to Atlanta for a wedding where I was lucky enough to be best man had I been introduced to Wild Heaven Brewery. When thinking about where I wanted to go, the Groom said this brewery had some of the best beer in the city and might be his absolute favorite. With a glowing review like that I had to go and get some pours (since they don't do small pours). Electric Avenue: A Munich Wine aged in Bulleit Rye 95 Barrels to bring a Boulevardier inspired beer. Garden Beer Season 18: An India Pale Lager brewed in collaboration with Atlanta Botanical Garden and changes every season. This seasons Garden Beer is a Hoppy Lager with Ginger, Toasted Sesame, and Buckwheat.

$ I went with my pirate friends on a brewery walk in Avondale Estates, Decatur, Georgia on a Saturday afternoon. Wild Heaven Beer was our first stop, and I was pleasantly surprised with the open air outdoor space, and the very large indoor facility. The brew that I sampled, Invocation (a Belgian style golden ale), was a smooth, tasty beer. The staff behind the bar was friendly, and moved the line quickly. There was a food vendor on site, but the brewery itself does not serve food. This particular evening there was live outdoor music.

Good vibes at wild heaven! Stopped in on a Sunday to grab some brews and there was live music and lots of outside seating options- from couches, to benches, to high tops. There was also a vegan restaurant on site where you could purchase food. They had a few different sour options on the menu I tried the you beautiful tropical fish. They also had a seltzer option which I enjoyed too. The parking was free and a short trek from the brewery. They also sell 6packs and other beer options to go. Nice place to spend a sunny day relaxing with friends and having a beer or two!

This is what a local craft brew is all about! Great beer, great atmosphere, and local food entrepreneurs are encouraged to express themselves. We got to watch a batch of "Emergency Beer" being packaged. A gem in real the neighborhood.

This was a nice stop in Decatur. Nice outdoor seating with live music, except there are quite a number of mosquitoes out back. :( The beer here is pretty decent, nice part of a small pubcrawl in Decatur after leaving Little Cottage and meandering towards the MARTA. Worth a side visit.

This is their second location that I've been to. The other one is in the west side. I went as part of a beer premiere. Their head brew master is really brilliant. He is very familiar with flora and fauna and has the mind of a chef. It really shows in their beers. They have a great outdoor seating area and a tap room that is very much like a barn or a warehouse. Heads up there is no AC so be careful if you're going on a hot day. The event was super fun and I got to try a lot of different beers. They have a couple rotating seasonals so it's worth it to go back multiple times

Our favorite brewery in Atlanta! They have a great variety of beer to satisfy both me and my husband. I love their selection of sours and seltzers while my husband loves their Emergency Drinking Beer staple. The service is fantastic as well.

We were very excited to check out this craft brewery, we recently discovered their Emergency Drinking Beer and loved the Citrus version of that. Long story short.... Enjoyed the Watermelon beer and a hoppy ale (don't remember which one), the bartender was super friendly and helpful and the layout was open, airy and nicely done. I can't remember the bartender's name but I would come back there just because she was so rad! She had long brown/blond dreadlocks. My beef with this spot: we were starving and drove to a halfway spot to meet my dad for dinner through a bunch of Atlanta's legendary nightmare traffic. When we got there they said they don't serve food on the weekdays. That's not what their website says and I was on the verge of falling out for hunger. We wanted to try a few more of the Wild Heaven beers but ended up getting hangry then foraging for food at pizza spot nearby. It was okay but we were really disappointed and it made us getting dinner super late.

Large brewery tucked behind College Avenue near the Marta tracks. Love this place! Great service, dog friendly, plenty of parking, spacious seating, and lots of good beers to sample. You enter into the brewery to place orders, in the back there is plenty of seating and some televisions in a covered area. The crowd is nice, great place to stop and have a few beers. Call ahead to find out what days the food truck is out.

Wild Heaven ranks at the top of my most favorite craft beer brands/companies. Since first tasting their Eschaton while eating lunch at an amazing Asian restaurant in Nashville, I have been on a mission to find a place locally to get that beer. Then a few years back they came to Zoobrew at the Nashville zoo and friends and I lived at their stand most of the night even though there were probably a hundred other breweries to choose from. Then at another Nashville restaurant that served tapas, I tried their White Blackbird which is also very very good. Which led me to pack up and take a weekend trip to Georgia with my girlfriend to pick up some of their beer that I can't find anywhere in Nashville. My only disappointment was that when we showed up they didn't have any Eschaton! To my dumbfounded disbelief, I learned that it is a seasonal beer. Then in November I called and found out they didn't make the "normal" Eschaton beer this year, but I'm determined to make some time to get back down here to try some of the version they did make for 2020, just as soon as I can get back towards Atlanta! If you are a true craft beer fan...please check these guys out! I can't say enough about them and their beer!!!

Party of 1... Pop in pop out Wild Heaven is tucked away on a side street in the heart of Decatur. This area has a bunch of breweries, but this one has been on my list for awhile. There are a number of parking spaces available in the front of the property. The place is huge, when I walked in I could see the main bar right in front of me. When I looked to the right I could see the team brewing up the next batch. The bartender at the main bar kinda gave me a bar snob vibe. He was not out right rude, but not friendly either. He was informative and curt. He advised that they are totally cashless at this location. I asked a few questions and settled on a not too hoppy IPA called "Regarding Your Car's Extended Warranty vol2." I took my beer and sat outside at one of their wooden tables with an umbrella. There was a nice cool breeze, I could have sat there for hours. I noticed there was a little stage setup, so I assume they have regular live entertainment. Wild Heaven does not serve their own food, but they partnered with a food truck that was parked out front. There were about 2 nice sized TVs on the property, one inside and one outside. One of the TVs was located in a storage container that was converted into a cool lounge area. Overall, this place has a good casual vibe and I will be back to taste some of their other beer choices.

You order all food and drinks at the bar, and they call your name when your order is ready. Because the food service is more fast-casual, tipping can feel a bit excessive.I really like both the indoor and outdoor spaces. There are plenty of TVs and a big projector. The atmosphere was lovely during the World Cup when they played the game audio over the speakers. There usually aren't many kids inside, but the outdoor crowd can be hit-or-miss.My favorite thing about this place is the rotating ghost kitchen, which features new food options almost every time you visit. I never get tired of the menu, and the quality is always great. They had a dj who was good but could use some discernment on changing songs when people are vibing to it, to another song with less tempo and vibes. There seemed to be one server and she was doing it all it seemed poor thing, which equaled to slow service. She was pleasant and did not appear overwhelmed. They didn't have the mixers to make a lemon drop or too much anything I wanted so I didn't order a drink except water. They list liquor on their website so I thought it would be a good place for me and my husband since I don't drink beer but he does. They also list wine. They only had 1 wine available, which was a can of Stella Rosa Black. My husband called it soda lol. It was 5% alcohol, in line with the seltzers they have. I started to get one as they had some flavors I might like but I thought we were hitting another spot and wanted to save my alcohol limit on something I really wanted. I'm not sure if I'll be back to try it though. I ordered the jerk chicken egg rolls. I liked them, my husband not so much. They are not spicy which suited me fine and I asked before ordering them the spice level. The sauce that comes with it really adds the jerk flavor, not spice. They came out piping hot. I would order them again if we returned. This next oops was on me. I saw they had oysters, but didn't check to see if they had raw oysters, which my husband loves. They have a variety of baked oysters and some fried ones. I like them chargrilled so that didn't work for me either. As they say, reading is fundamental. Had I done my homework we probably wouldn't have stopped in last night. But I wanted to support black owned businesses on Juneteenth. I hope they make it as they're the only black owned brewery in Atlanta as noted on their website. There's parking around the corner. The restaurant as I could see was clean. The server was friendly despite being overworked. Go try them if you're a beer &/or seltzer drinker and like baked or fried oysters.
