I am learning away from meat only occasionally chicken and mostly fish and let me tell you this place did not disappoint. Located off beach blvd around the Hodges shopping center where you will find Hong Kong bistro at the corner. Inside was cool and casual and we got to either choose from the menus above or order from kiosk machine. I got the build your own pie with mozzarella,pesto vegan chicken on cauliflower crusted hand tossed pizza. Wow I was impressed. Everything was fresh and crisp to perfection. I love how everything is pretty much plant based. My friend got the hamburger pizza pie which was unique and definitely tasted like a cheeseburger on pie. Definitely different but delicious as well. Might as well be daring! Will the manager was so kind and gave us a taste of monkey bread which was fluffed up Parmesan bread with cheese and garlic with marinara sauce. Oh my goodness. Amazing. How did this place fly under our radar for so long? I've been craving pizza all week but we often run into an issue because my son is allergic to dairy and my wife is vegetarian while my daughter and I enjoy interesting dishes and meat. Luckily I stumbled upon Wild Pie which has many interesting vegan meat substitute pies. I ordered to go which was easy with someone at the register. They encourage you to order at a kiosk but I had a clipp certificate that necessitated a manger. The interior was modern and green and they had a dog friendly patio out front. Everyone was really nice and eager to share information about the menu. We got their popular Power to The Pesto pizza. The pizza had Yukon gold potatoes to simulate the chicken, yummy pesto, wild mushrooms, and dairy free cheese. It had some chili flakes to give it some bite. We also got their Greek Goddess salad which had Marinated Gigante Beans, Cucumber, Marinated Artichokes, Roasted Red Peppers, pita chips, and delicious green goddess dressing. I ordered a side house salad with creamy cilantro vinaigrette dressing. I highly recommend this salad as it was fresh and crisp and I loved the dressing. I shared the honey miso brussel sprouts which were sweet and yummy, topped with fried onions. But the highlight was the hand tossed Veg Out pizza. The crust was crispy, but not hard. Next time I will ask for a little more red sauce. Loved my pizza at wild pie- im writing my review as I'm thinking I need to go back asap! Lots of options- either pick off the menu or build your own. To me the dough was top notch (so hard to find in jax), flavors were on point and ingredients were fresh. I got a mushroom white pizza (hold the potatoes, cuz, scoof, I dont like potatoes) and it was so tasty both in person and reheated the next day. I can't believe it took me so long to try this place. It's amazing! Service was great; pizza was yummy. Let me be more specific. I eat vegan about 2/3 of the year for religious reasons. My pizza options are VERY limited--and usually the crust or the cheese of a vegan pizza is unfortunate. I've dealt with super thin crust options that are not filling and don't hold up to veggie toppings. I've been to places where the "cheese" is a congealed mass of thickened fat. With Wild Pie, the crust is the perfect balance of crisp and filling. At Wild Pie, there is just enough cheese to stick everything together -- and with multiple vegan cheeses, you get a medley of delicious textures. We were so impressed with the Pear Out, the Meatless Lover, and the Rustic Rita especially. We also got one gluten-free crust option and that was a huge hit with those who needed it. Located in the busy shopping area at Beach and Hodges, Wild Pie looks inviting and like a breath of fresh air, in part thanks to the plants including the live wall. We wanted to try their cooked food so we went with the spicy impossible meatballs and garlic parm monkey bread to start and the power to the pesto pizza. I love cheese and garlic bread, and this one was very good. The meatballs were as well, but they had that density that I've come to know from meat substitutes and they were not spicy. We enjoyed the pizza. The crust was the best part as it was light and chewy, which worked very well with toppings that were a bit heavy. We washed it all down with their housemade drinks - lemonade and mandarin orange - which were self-serve. Overall, the food was good, the place was very clean, and the service was great. Prices in my opinion were a bit high (i.e, $9.50 for six pieces of bread). Having lived on the west coast, I have tried a number of vegan options and this place definitely does vegan food well. However, as a non-vegan, I probably wouldn't choose this place over a regular pizza joint but I love the fact that it increases the options for all. I might stop back by to try some of their desserts with my lactose intolerant and milk/dairy free relatives. This all plant-based pizza shop is quickly becoming one of my go-to lunch options! I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but I enjoy the pizza here, nonetheless - and it's a good option for anyone doing meatless Mondays or anyone who doesn't feel like cooking, but also doesn't want to resort to something too unhealthy. I usually do take-out, but there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, as well. It's cute. Pizzas come in three sizes, with the smallest at just 4 slices. I think Power to the Pesto is my favorite, although Kale Me Maybe and different versions of a build-your-own have also worked their way into my repertoire. I wouldn't have guessed that all the food was plant-based and dairy-free if I didn't know ahead of time, but I also wouldn't say it's exactly like your typical pizza place. There's something unique to the flavors here, in a good way. Hence, if I'm really craving pizza, I probably wouldn't come here to fulfill that jones - but I also catch myself specifically craving Wild Pie sometimes! To all vegans considering Wild Pie as a truly vegan-friendly spot--think again. It's plant-based, not vegan, and to our surprise, it's not even dog-friendly. This is highly unusual, as most vegan restaurants, where compassion for all life is a core value, welcome dogs without issue. My wife and I drove almost an hour to dine here with our miniature schnauzer, expecting a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Instead, we were met with an unpleasant surprise. Our dog, sealed in a carrier and covered with a blanket, let out a few brief yelps while we waited for our food. My wife calmed him down with a treat, but shortly after, the manager, his name was Mark, came over and asked us to leave. We were stunned. When I inquired why, especially since our dog was covered and not interacting with anyone, Mark simply cited policy. This reaction felt unnecessarily rude and overblown. In a place that claims to respect life, how is this consistent with those values? If we had a child who made noise, would we have been kicked out? I highly doubt it. Yet because he was a dog, we were essentially told to leave immediately. Adding insult to injury, the manager even asked if we wanted to pay for the pizza to go. We refused, of course. After driving an hour for a dine-in experience, the last thing we wanted was takeout. What we expected was a refund, not to pay for a meal we never got to enjoy. As we left, Mark handed us his name and said, 'If you have a problem, feel free to complain about me,' which further implied he felt fully justified in his actions--actions I strongly disagree with. Needless to say, we will not be returning after this experience. To make matters worse, I discovered that the charge on my credit card wasn't refunded. When I called the manager, he said he'd look into it and call me back. Six hours passed with no response. Upon following up again, I was told he had already left for the day, leaving the issue unresolved. In the end, my wife and I went to True Food Kitchen, where the vegan pizza was fantastic, and they welcomed our dog with no issues--even though they're not a fully vegan restaurant. Staff wasn't overly eager to help us with understanding the menu and just sent us to a kiosk which we navigated through with a little difficulty. Gave me a slight hard time about brining my service dog inside to order - even though I had her vested. We split the ham be pizza and while it didn't taste bad it definitely did not taste like a cheeseburger or even remotely close. Let's start with what it looked like when served - picture the cheapest froze bitten frozen pizza you forgot in your freezer thrown into the microwave.
