They have great sushi and all the non-sushi eaters have a huge selection to choose from. Try their scorpion bowl sometime. It's a cocktail for two with flaming alcohol in the center of the bowl. Just watch your eyebrows... I'd also recommend splitting their calamari salad. Not good I have ordered from and eaten at Wild Rice numerous times since their opening in Fairfield. Throughout time, TWO times, I brought back my "to go" order as it was unsatisfactory. You can usually tell a quality sushi place just by the color of the tuna. At higher quality places it has a vibrant red color. I always play it safe the first time I try a new sushi place and order a spicy tuna roll and some tuna and salmon sushi. The spicy tuna roll had a fishy after taste that even the spicy mayo could not mask and I ended up not even trying the tuna sushi I ordered because I knew it was not good quality. The salmon was not bad but not good by any means. My son has the Sesame chicken which was way to sweet and the chicken was on the dry side. It might sound silly but my favorite thing here is brown rice, yes the rice. It's unlike any other in the area, very dark with great texture and flavor. I have my rolls made with it and it makes them so much more delicious. If you had sushi with brown rice before you know how sometimes bad mushy rice can ruin the experience. Not here. If you haven't tried it before, do yourself a favor and give it a shot, even if you're not a brown rice person. In warm weather you can sit outside which is very nice. A very talented sushi chef quickly creates creative presentations of deliciously fresh fish. We came with the 4 kids and their grandparents and everyone was happy. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the suggested Japanese soda with the marble in the bottle. So much so that they took the empty bottle home. My kids ate the sushi, they're big fans. If your kids are not, it's probably best to leave them at home since there doesn't seem to be a lot of other options for picky kids. (aside from some noodle or rice dishes) The sake selection wasn't big, but it had enough variety to keep probably most sake drinkers happy. An attempt to keep all Asian food categories on the menu meant that things like General Tso shared a table with Pad Thai. I liked the creativity the was used for the decor. Small stacked pine boards burned with a blowtorch to create a unique antiqued look. Strips of laminate countertop weaved into a basket pattern over copper pipes. Someone went to Home depot and tried to create a higher end look on the cheap. It worked okay - the fact that I recognized the cheapness of it shouldnt matter since most people won't. Back in Oct I placed an order for three meals from Wild Rice. One of the meals was wrong. I called and was told the next time I place an order I would not be charged for one of the dinners. The man took down my information. I placed an order yesterday and explained to the woman that one of my dinners was to be free. I gave her my phone number so she could look this up. My son picked up the dinners and sure enough I was charged for all three dinners with a credit of $2 taken off my bill for rice. I called and explained that my order in Oct wasn't missing rice, the order was wrong. The man said he would give me my money back. I went there this morning and as soon as I walked in an employee walked over to me and noticed the receipts in my hand. I started to say why I was there, but he didn't want to hear about it. He opened the register and handed me the money. I tried in a calm manner to explain what had happened. He said, "When the girl checked the computer it said missing rice." I don't know why it would say missing rice because that is not what I told her. I started to talk and he said, "I don't want to argue, here's the money. I don't want to talk about it. Take the money and go." With that he turned and walked away. He was extremely rude. I was a long time customer and this is how I get treated. He gave me no chance to explain. Got the worst food poisoning I've experienced in my entire life after one meal here & I will never return

My husband and I have passed Wild Rice many times in the past, but never went there. We finally did last week, and were very pleased. The food was excellent and the staff courteous and helpful. The restaurant was spotless. My only complaint is that they seated us at a table for two in the aisle opposite the sushi bar, and waiters had to pass us constantly, sometime two going in opposite directions.. The aisle is very narrow, and it was very annoying. If not for that, I would have rated it a 5. I also wish they had delivery service, but, unfortunately, they don't. Met a girlfriend for a weeknight dinner. Standard sushi fare. I had 2 rolls and a cup of miso. The rolls were sizeable and they were just as good as any I've ever had. I'm kind of a basic sushi flavor kinda gal, so it's hard to mess up tuna-avocado and sweet potato tempura. The staff was a little hot on the trigger with the check which was frustrating- they came back 4 or 5 times to get the check while my girlfriend and I were still catching up. Today I ordered tofu and veggies and asked for extra broccoli and then asked for shrimp and mango sauce and asked if there was broccoli in it and they said yes. When I got home, predictably, neither had broccoli. I called and actually got into a confrontation with the man who answered the phone. He said the shrimp and mango sauce would taste terrible with broccoli and so I said when I asked for it why didn't you just say NO! Then he said for the tofu that broccoli doesn't always come in it.
