FINALLY! A decent Chinese food restaurant in the area! We moved to the neighborhood about two years ago, and after trying a bunch of Chinese places around the area we were ready to give up hope. After reading the YELP reviews, we decide to give this place a shot. So glad we did! Very friendly staff and very decently priced for the amount of food they give you. One of the more authentic Chinese restaurant on Long Island. Wish I know about this place sooner. But now I'm moving another state. Ordered the shrimp wonton and roast pork noodle soup. The portion was huge. Taste pretty close to the noodle soups in Hong Kong and San Fran. Wild Rice is the truth. Crab rangoons, dumplings, any Chinese flavor that gets you going - they'll take care of you. I would crawl backwards to this place just to pound down a pint of beef and broccoli. When I die they'll put a wanton on my headstone every year for my birthday. read more

OK - the large soup bowls are awesome. The broth is wonderful and rich while the pork sliced into the soup is off the charts. I have been there about a dozen times, the Sesame Chicken is simply the best I have had with a silky sauce and light but crisp coating. Not a lot of good noodle soup options in the area, so this place fills the need for a good traditional bowl. Selection of mei fun, udon, Cantonese egg noodle, with dumplings, wontons, bok choi, and meat. You get a good amount, prices are good, and the restaurant is clean and friendly. They can make a great vegetarian noodle soup with veg dumplings, which are clearly home-made with big chunks of diced carrots and whole corn kernels. Before I found Wild Rice, I never ordered Chinese takeout if I could help it. Now, visiting this restaurant and picking up chicken dumpling soup with udon noodles and the vegetable fried dumpling appetizer is a highlight of my week. Their egg rolls are delicious, and so is the Thai cashew chicken, General Tso, cold sesame noodles, pineapple fried rice, basically everything on the menu. We had a really nice lunch here. Shrimp dumpling Noodle Soup was tasty, with super fresh baby bok choy. Veggies were cooked perfectly - general tso was yummy. Big portions and great price. Wish they were closer to home , we would eat there a couple of times a week. read more

In regards to their special noodle soup dishes, I truly do not believe you will find a better product at a Chinese restaurant on Long Island. I tried Wild Rice out maybe 4-5 months ago when a friend from work told me their "rice dishes would knock your socks off!" Fried rice is probably my favorite Asian cuisine. Needless to say after looking over a few of the yelp reviews, I wanted to try the shrimp wonton and roast pork udon noodle soup soup. I tried that and never looked back. The broth is delicious . The roast pork is by far the freshest meat I've ever had at one of these establishments. And the shrimp wontons and Bok chow (or whatever it is) is absolutely sensational. I order take out at least once a week from Wild Rice and I find the food to always be fresh and always delicious. I especially love the ribs on the bone with pork fried rice and the roast pork Lo Mein... I always have left overs for the next day ... I definitely recommend Wild rice !!! read more

The best Chinese food I have EVER had. I drive 30 minutes to this place. It's that good. The food isn't greasy and tastes delicious. Love the steamed dumplings. Very disappointed was referred to this place and ordered lunch specials for 21 dollars and the trays were half empty hardly no rice never in my life have I had fried rice without pork. Then I proceed to call and all they can say was I didn't order a dinner combo wow!!! My husband and I came here for lunch today. It was a great little place for some noodle soup and pan fried dumplings. If you live in long island, you will know there aren't much authentic Chinese restaurant around and most of the good stuff is found in Queens or Manhattan. So this place was actually a pretty good place for a noodle soup fix for me. Since it is close by the Smith Haven mall too, that is a plus for us. After shopping we can always stop by here for some noodle soup. This is especially great when winter comes, noodle soup is such a great comfort food. Noodles! Roast pork egg noodle soup with shrimp dumplings! Delicious. I love the way the broth and noodles/bok choy are packaged separately. I ordered steamed shrimp dumplings with the soup to get the 10 dollar minimum for delivery. There was enough for two. The roast pork was so tender and tasted like boneless BBQ spare ribs but better. The dumplings were thin not gummy and filled with flavor. Everything was delicious, the delivery time was reasonable (30 mins), and the service was great. Went here looking for a good noodle soup and wasn't disappointed.....the serving size was great and we had takeout and they kept the broth separate so the noodles didn't over cook. I got the chicken dumpling udon soup and my husband got the spicy beef...will definitely be back for more read more

My favorite Chinese food place I've found. I go here once a month. It's out of my way and not near to where I live but when I feel like Chinese food when I'm near Smithaven Mall, I come here before I head home. I always get the same thing. Not impressed. It's mostly a take out restaurant -which is fine, I just wasn't expecting that. Seating was sparse but pretty and comfortable. Food was served in plastic take out container..if even if you were 'dining in'. I ordered chicken with cashews but asked if they could leave the carrots out. The owner said the vegetables are all mixed up already. I've never heard of that before. I always ask for specific vegetables to be removed and I've never been told no. I asked if he could just put broccoli in there but he said he would then have to charge me ''extra'' for the cashews. (?) I asked for eggdrop/wonton mix soup. I always order the combo. He told me to mix the two would be ''extra.'' Food was bland and not very tasty. Serving size was on the small side. Not impressed with the service. I've definitely had way better. read more
