I was in the market for a certain rifle that was Ca compliant and came upon Wilde built tactical, I saw they had what I wanted online in stock and placed my order on a Friday. I usually don't write reviews but I felt the need to to help counter the recent unfavorable ones. First of all, it should be obvious why WBT has a great overall rating with most of their 1-stars being written in the last 4 months. They are a very small brick and mortar business which also happens to have an online store unlike most other FFLs in socal. Most firearm dealers have been overwhelmed by covid panic buying, but I speculate WBT have been exceptionally busy due to their online presence. I purchased a firearm in March which was in stock on their website. Just as the site states, they are extremely backlogged and orders will take a lot longer than normal to complete. I waited a little over a month to start the DROS, then another 15 days to pick up. Both visits to the store were met with very professional and friendly service. All I can say is if you are expecting pre-covid response and shipping times you are being unrealistic, and if you are patient, you can easily see what a great establishment this is. I expect I will be doing business with them in the future and hopefully I will not be wearing a mask during my next visit. read more

I believe this place have more and better selection than other places for California complaint firearms. The price is just slightly higher than others but understandable because they have to modify to make it California legal. The only bad thing is it will take a long long time to ship. My firearm was shipped a little over 6 weeks. I would recommend this place only if you not in a hurry. read more

I originally purchased my Expanse in early 2018 and after only 210 rounds my rifle was caught in a house fire. The plastics melted and I thought it was going to be unsalvageable. I took it back to WBT and Brian and the gunsmith stripped and evaluated it and discovered that my receivers were good and I should replace all of the peripherals. Their knowledge was top notch and now I have rebuilt the Expanse and getting it ready to paint and range fire. Thanks Again guys! read more

Run, don't walk, from Wilde Built Tactical. After 15 months of waiting for a rifle I ordered and paid for, and endless insincere promises that were not kept, I finally received a NON- CALIFORNIA COMPLIANT rifle. My FFL advised me to send it back. I did and a couple of months after that it was sent back to me worse than the first delivery with further illegal features. Again I sent it back and had to practically beg them to remedy the illegal features and send it back. Endless calls and emails later I finally received it back and took it to the range. I was unable to use it because it failed to feed. I took it to three expert gun smiths and paid one a hundred dollars to determine the problem. All of them advised me to send it back to the manufacturer at my cost! They were baffled. I sent it back to Wilde Built demanding they either remedy the problem or send back my money. After more pleas for a reasonable turn around time, and further delays, WBT sent me my money but did not return requests for the legal mods I had to make to the rifle at my cost. WBT promised to return the cost for those mods, but never have. If you dislike yourself and wish to ruing a year and a half of your life, buy from Wilde Built Tactical and suffer the consequences. Be a masochist if you wish. But never again will I believe their lies. I bought another rifle from a local FFL and it works perfectly and it took exactly the waiting period for me to get this fine rifle. No lies, no false promises, just good business. I regret having to award one star to get this review published. I would prefer to award minus one star! read more

I am located a little north of the store and reached out to them for a specific item (After calling literally 100 stores up and down the state that didn't even want to give me the time of day). The customer service was phenomenal considering the amount of calls, emails and facebook messages Wild Built is getting. I was able to communicate effectively and quickly. My order was shipped to FFL within a week (Need to be patient in these crazy times). It is quite obvious the negative reviews are from impatient people that just don't get it. My dad ordered a AR online for a good price. We were having it shipped from SD to LA but my dad was constantly having issues on the phone regarding when it would arrive / be delivered. After a week of following up on the phone and TIRED of the run around, we drove 100+ miles to talk in person. This is a small shop. Next to a post office. Pistols are in a locked counter but rifles are casually hanging on the wall. Cool. Anywho, David was apologetic, professional and handled the situation. Gave us an extra mag for the inconvenience. AMAZING Store, If your in the market for modern rifles Please, go to Wilde Built Tactical. I recently moved back to California, living in Oceanside and i searched EVERY gun store/shop etc around to get the rifle I wanted. I love my guns and I'm very picky, and it wasn't until i spoke to the wonderful staff of WBT that i was able to get my rifle as i wanted it. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. WBT is the only shop that i have come across that offers its rifles using the FC hook, which most places haven't even heard of yet. I used messenger to speak too the rep when i was figuring out what i wanted and he always replied, even after business hours to help me out. WBT was able to order the exact rifle i wanted and had it set up the way i wanted it. no other gun store would do that. once i bought the rifle, WBT offered to ship it to a closer FFL for me since i have to drive almost 2 hours to get to their store (thats how far i had to search to find a good shop in So Cal) and even just receiving the rifle, no one would take the FFL transfer for the Rifle, not even some of the big business sporting good gun stores i love. by the way only took 2weeks to get my rifle delivered to WBT. The store is very small which would , make you think it is less than there but big things come from small packages. being such a small store, they offer more and have more knowledge than any other gun store i have been too. prices are dead on as well! exactly what i would expect to pay and no more than other shops. I absolutly 100% trust WBT, and HIGHLY recommend their business, especially if your looking to get specialty rifles or high end guns. Highly recommend this place for online shopping! I've been skeptical about purchasing online because of shipping issues. However, WBT was on top of my purchase since day 1 of me contacting them. They're good at answering their emails but even better when you reach out via FB Messenger. On Messenger, they gave me the broke down of how much, where to ship, and what I should expect. They were even patient with my million rifle questions. Very good at reaching out to your FFL dealer. I have recommended them to my brother and my other buddy. Kudos to Dustin, he was awesome on Messenger! Pricing is great and they're not trying to rip you off. I was looking for a specific rifle that would've cost me $2k or more. Instead of convincing me to buy and make more $$, they hooked it up with a more reliable purchase (S&W) for more than half the price. No shipping issues at all! If you don't want long waits, I would ask about any in-store fire arms because then shipping will be faster. If you purchase a gun that is not in store (as I was originally going to do), then that firearms needs to be requested from the manufacturer, made CALI legal, and then shipped to their store. If your thinking about buying a gun, mags or sights here DON'T... just don't!!! Possibly the worst experience I've ever had ordering anything online. Not sure what they consider "in stock" but trust me it doesn't mean you'll get it anytime soon. Consider your purchase a small business loan with zero ownership interest in getting you what you've paid for. They'll blame it on the pandemic but if you can't get a "in stock" mag to the post office within 3 weeks you shouldn't be in business. If your so backed up stop taking orders until you can catch up. read more

I recently bought my very first gun, a Rock Island Armory GI Series 1911. I've always been a fan of this gun design, so when I saw it advertised in one of Wilde Built Tactical's e-mails at a reasonable price I immediately pulled out my credit card and ordered it. I went into this transaction knowing that there would be delays (the website made it very clear) and with this pandemic I don't think we can expect any company to be running under "business as usual" conditions. I can honestly say I'm satisfied with the level of service provided by Wilde Built Tactical, considering the situation we're all going through. Between the website, e-mails and phone conversations I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. About three weeks after I placed the order I was contacted by someone at WBT to schedule the DROS. I went in a couple days later and was given the necessary forms to fill out. I also took the FSC test while I was there. The person who received my documents and ID was very friendly and explained exactly how I should fill out the forms. Shortly after I was given my FSC and an appointment for two weeks later to pick up the gun (provided I passed the background check). I was told that if there were any issues someone would contact me early in the morning the day of my appointment to discuss that. That's exactly what happened. A nice young lady called me on the phone the morning of my appointment day and explained that the DOJ still had not completed my background check. She told me that she would contact me as soon as she heard anything from DOJ. A week later she called and said I had passed the background test. I was actually expecting this to take longer since other gun stores stated that it was taking DOJ an average of 30 days to complete background checks. When this young lady called me that morning she told me I could pick up the gun that same afternoon, so at the scheduled time I was there to pick up my 1911. Again, the folks there were very nice. I signed a couple other documents, demonstrated that I could safely handle the gun, and drove back home with my brand new 1911. Again, taking into consideration how the pandemic has complicated everyone's lives, I was still satisfied with Wilde Built Tactical's level of service. Yes, having to make appointments to do the DROS and to pick up your gun complicates things a little bit, and adds a few more days here and there to the process, but I think it's still a good thing. The few times I was at WBT there were only one or two other customers there, and the atmosphere was pretty relaxed and orderly. Not what I have seen at other gun stores I've visited in the last few weeks. Some places are just too hectic, it's difficult to get someone to help you in a timely fashion, and you end up wasting more time than you should. Kudos to WBT. Would definitely do business with them in the future. read more

Just picked up my Glock 19 and Keltec KSG from Wilde Built. Love these guys. They're very well informed, super nice, and considering that the COVID is still in effect, they were pretty decently stocked. I saw some people on yelp complaining of long wait times, but after i put in my order I received an email from them to schedule my DROS in a couple of weeks. The entire process from beginning to end went very smoothly and quickly. Brian who helped me out when i picked up my guns was fantastic. He was patient and very thorough. Explained all the ins and outs of both guns. He also taught me some very practical safety practices. I felt like it was my own private gun safety course. I live in Los Angeles and I'm more than happy making the 2 hour drive to shop from these guys. It's well worth it. They're definitely better stocked than a lot of places here in the Los Angeles area. Man.... where to start, I ordered a CZ Scorpion a while back in January and finally got the good news it was ready to ship this month. There were some unexpected delays, but hey in this line of business it isn't unusual- especially considering the legal landscape of the whole gun control debacle.
