I've gotta say--I'm impressed! The skillet cornbread was amazing--like, I could eat 2 of these amazing--and the chopped salad was fantastic. I got the small, and was still only able to eat half of it, even though I was starving. We sat on the patio, which does have heat lamps though you may have to ask for one. (We noticed them on the way out.) If you ask for a spot around the corner you'll be in the shade and blocked from the wind. read more

Whenever I want to relax and have a delicious meal in a relaxed setting, I always come back to Wildfire. I usually go to the Glenview location, and it does not disappoint. The food is out of this world delicious. The Wildfire salad is oh so good as a starting dish, and you can never go wrong with any of their steaks. Personally I like the horseradish crusted filet, but I would gladly choose any of them for a wonderful dinner. And if you have room, the desserts are heavenly! BATTLE OF THE BEEF (PART 1: 'BLUE RARE') You can always count on getting a top-notch steak at Wildfire, even if other areas aren't as strong. I'm not entirely sure what spurred us to drive up to their Glenview restaurant on a Wednesday night in early February, but sure as the Pope is Catholic, Nichole C and I found ourselves in the mood for red meat. We've been to the Oak Brook location a handful of times, and I've also been to the one in Lincolnshire. This Wildfire is located a mile west of Waukegan Rd, nearby a Jewel Osco and not far from where Milwaukee Ave hits I-294. Our reservation was for 7:30pm on 2/5/20 and we got seated fairly quickly. The place was hella busy for a weeknight, perhaps due to the ongoing Restaurant Week. To start, we split a bottle of cabernet ($45) and enjoyed Wildfire's awesome bread basket (incl. skillet cornbread and onion roll). Not wanting to break my streak, I once again ordered a bowl of baked french onion soup ($9). Hearty broth, tender sweet onions, loads of melted Swiss & asiago cheese, what's not to like? My better half opted for the Restaurant Week special, a three part pre fixe that included a starter, entrée, and dessert for $48 (for which she chose a cup of shrimp & crab bisque, 12oz NY strip medium-rare, and key lime pie). If you were to add up those things separately, they'd come to almost $55, so this was a good value. I've yet to be disappointed by the filet medallion trio ($38), one of their signature dishes. Three thick 3oz medallions come with your choice of crust: horseradish, mushroom [gag], parmesan, blue cheese, or double baked potato. Each filet was an immaculate cut of beef cooked the right way, just to my liking. Wildfire has delicious sides like the redskin mashed potatoes (which I'm pretty sure are whipped with lots of butter and heavy cream). The creamed spinach is noteworthy, in that like Morton's, they add a touch of nutmeg or something similar (cloves??) to give it a slightly sweet undertaste. Desserts were great, as expected. A 1/2 order of the apple streusel pie ($7) came with vanilla ice cream and was the perfect size, however the key lime pie ($9) is probably the best thing here. It's made with a tart, smooth custard, a terrific graham cracker crust, fluffy whipped topping and lime zest. Bread = 5 Circuses = 3.5 Our server Alberto knew the menu very well and offered a few suggestions throughout dinner. There were a gaggle of managers on the dining room floor, most of whom were surveying tables and whispering to servers. I assumed at some point one of them would come over to ask how everything was, but nay. All they did was mill around. We both got cold, unfriendly vibes off of the hostess. She was on the phone with a customer when we arrived, but instead of doing the whole "I'll be right with you" shtick, she kept her head down and seemed to actively ignore us. Once finished, she looked at us and.....said nothing. As we followed the seater, there was no "enjoy the meal", not a peep from her. Upon leaving, the place has cleared out and there was ample time to wish us a good night or thank us for dining (unlike earlier, she didn't have the convenient excuse of being on the phone with a customer). She watched us exit out the door and remained silent the whole time. Hmmm. * TL;DR * This is the 3rd of 5 WF's I've visited in the greater Chicago area, and the experience here was solid enough. Even with the issues related to the host stand, I'd still take Wildfire on a bad day than nearly anyone else on a good day (except maybe Gibson's or Morton's). The food was stellar and prices are reasonable. I'd recommend this upscale steak & chophouse for date night, TGIF, and special occasions. read more

We used this venue for my twins first birthday party. WOW. they were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. From the time we signed our contract. Dani took her time to answer all my questions - and I had so many questions. Dani even took the time to show me the room that we'd be renting so I could plan decorations for the kids birthday party. Wildfire went above and beyond to make everything perfect for a memorable twins first birthday party. We had almost 100 guest and they all raved about the food and service. Each table had a server which made everything so much easier for me and allowed every table to pay for their own tab which meant I didn't have to worry and chase down any guests for their drink bills. They gave me time before the event to decorate the tables and even helped with taking the balloons away after the event. I highly highly recommend hosting an event with wildfire. Their event managers and servers were amazing! They were super attentive to all guests and their needs. Some guest need their meats more well done and wild fire was able to do that for them! Great decor, great service, upscale ambiance, fancy menu but unmemorable food. Wildfire is not a bad choice when you are looking for a restaurant to take a special date to, or a place to have a festive family dinner. The seating is comfortable, the dining room isn't too loud, and the menu covers a wide variety of favorites. However for me, the food doesn't really impress. The quality of the ingredients is good but I'm not a huge fan of the flavor combinations nor the cooking here. On one hand, it feels like the intent is to serve elevated versions of familiar foods -- but on the other hand the execution feels very safe and generic. Instead of offering unique combinations of flavors, textures, or mixes of fresh herbs -- I find the food to be very similar to the standard chophouse but with higher prices. Chicago is a very competitive area for excellent grill houses, steak houses, seafood restaurants, and chophouses and this restaurant does not stand out for me (although I've enjoyed some other Lettuce Entertain You restaurants quite a bit). Here are some of my thoughts on some items I tried on my last visit: - Bread basket : Nice and freshly baked. I did enjoy the generous helping of cornbread which contains a good amount of corn kernels and the aromatic onion bread. - Coconut shrimp: The shrimp is generously sized, with an interesting panko coconut coating. I'm not sure if this was the best preparation to really bring out coconut flavor though it was fairly crisp. The ginger coconut sauce was alright, but I would've rather had something with a lot more sweetness and richness. - Prime rib: Fairly tender, with a marination of sea salt, garlic, and black pepper. This mix didn't really bring out the meaty, savory flavor I expect from a prime rib while the horseradish sauce didn't really have the right mix of spicy and peppery flavors to really elevate the meat. It wasn't a bad cut, but Weber Grill, Gale St, Jameson's Charhouse and other restaurants were prepared better. - Tuna steak teriyaki: Fish was a bit overcooked and could've been a thicker cut with a bit more fat. The ponzu sauce was too tart and detracted from my enjoyment of the steak. - Sides (Fries, wild rice, green beans, au gratin potatoes): Fairly standard, minimally seasoned with fresh ingredients -- nothing special. Overall, I'd go to Wildfire for the ambiance or if I need the high quality service for an important occasion (or to host visitors). Ignoring price, I'm not a big fan of the flavor combinations or preparations offered here though. They seem to lack a distinct theme or key ingredient that would make them memorable and keep me coming back for more. read more

Excellent food and service. Tonight hubby and I came to celebrate my recent promotion at work and were seated in one of the rooms in the back. Despite there being two large parties in the room with us, Myron our server was attentive and very pleasant. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent recommendations. We shared bacon wrapped scallops and I had the filet medallion trio while he had the prime rib. Both were cooked perfectly and we shared the cheddar double stuffed potato and creamed spinach. Loved the cornbread filled with corn too. Our drinks were icing on the cake. Wonderful dinner. I've been one other time and enjoyed it then, also. We went to Wildfire in Glenview.  The ambience was very nice. Drinks and salad were pretty good.  However, the entrees were nothing to brag about. Fish was small and the Prime rib was very fatty. I don't think they're known for their steaks. Nice place too have a drink though. Lastly, we just realized that this was a Lettuce Entertain you restaurant. It drives me crazy when the waiters or waitresses do not ask for our Lettuce Entertain You codes for being a frequent diner. I have missed out on diner credit in the past. We will not be going back there to eat anytime soon. read more

Recent Visit Much Better... My last couple visits here weren't great, but I had some $$ in my Lettuce Wallet to spend, so thought we'd try again. Food was very good. I had halibut and my husband had duck. He started with crab cakes, which were inadvertently delivered to a nearby table, but he said they were worth the wait. We had wine by the glass and the selection is always good. We each had a slice of pie (cherry and blueberry) for dessert. It was a nice afternoon so we dined on the patio, which was lovely and much quieter than inside. Our server seemed new, but she did a nice job of taking care of us, especially after the missing crabcakes snafu. We'll definitely be back. read more

I've been here several times, and for a rural area, this place pretty much rox. They have a good selection of wine, a good selection of beer, and a good cocktail selection. You would be surprised how big this places, until you walk in, and see the kitchen. I love open kitchens. And they have a great grill. All of the meats are great, and it is really up to you to decide what you want for the night. I think their fillet is the best, though of the steaks, as I think some of their toppings for the steaks are a little heavy. We had the calamari for an appetizer which is awesome, but get it spicy and sweet. All in all, this place is a pretty cool place to go to. Nice upscale restaurant !! This is the type restaurant that people go to when they are on their anniversary. I can't say I saw any kids or young people unless they were eating as a multigenerational extended family gathering or something. The food is good and the staff is used to giving very above average service. The prices are not cheap but that is only because the food is so good. When I came here on a Friday night the waiting area was packed and the restaurant was packed - so lots of people know this is a a great place to have an exceptional dining experience. When we asked for the check, our bar-mates advised us to look for the surcharge and dispute it. They explained that over the pandemic, the kids took over the father, and decided to hold onto the surcharge as a money grab. Our bartender had the charge removed, no questions asked, but it was too late - the idea of tacking on a few bucks to an already not-cheap night out, just because they thought they could get away with it, left a bad taste in my mouth. No thanks Wildfire - there's plenty of other places to get a good meal. You (or any other "Lettuce" shops) won't be getting any of my business. read more

Wildfire was an overall mediocre/ decent experience. The interior of the place was pleasant, I could tell it was more upscale, although I think some of the furniture could use an upgrade. It had an old timey/ classic environment which was an enjoyable environment to be in. I ordered a $48 filet mignon, for the price I was expecting a lot more with my plate. I was gifted a large plate with one slab of meet, no seasoning or garnishing on top, and swimming in a pool of juice. It was overall underwhelming especially for the price of the food. However, the side dish of roasted vegetables was incredible, some of the best seasoned vegetables I've ever had. I also liked that some of it was toasted enough to have a little bit of a burnt flavor, I actually rather enjoyed that. But my plate of vegetables had more flavor then the filet mignon unfortunately. I had tried my other family members plates of food like their salmon and ribeye which was actually pretty flavorful. I really enjoyed the ribs, it was filled with flavor! The service was decent and they had our food out really quickly. We tried conversing with the waitress who handed us our food but he did not seem happy to hear us talk, which I can understand when the night has been busy. With our food coming out so quickly, I was pleasantly surprised and Iwas not expecting it to be so quick, especially for how busy they were with other customers. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, however for its price point I don't think I could justify the under seasoned filet mignon or the mediocre service. read more

Celebrated the hubby's birthday with the boys and my in-laws. It had been a long time since we've eaten at Wildfire and glad we came. They have the best chopped salad EVER! It's a must order in my book. We both ordered their Monday special: fried chicken entree & the parmesan crusted cod. The fried chicken entree came with cole slaw, biscuit, mashed potatoes and 3-4 pieces of chicken (enough to feed 2)! Chicken was juicy and crispy on the outside and very flavorful. The biscuit was flaky so so good. The crust on the cod was nice and crisp. Just the right amount of seasoning and cooked to perfection. I wasn't much of a fan of the butter lemon sauce. It was a bit too much for me. By the way, our waitress was great! Super attentive and polite. I would have given this a 5 star, but the restaurant was a little dirty. Felt totally rushed as they were taking dishes away from the table and kept asking if they could take our plates away. We ordered drinks, they have an old fashioned on the menu which one guest got, I wanted the same but with Rye, not sure why they showed up very different. He had 1 cube and a proper dark bourbon cherry , I had a ton of cubes and a crappy maraschino cherry. I literally wanted the same drink just a different bourbon. (I drank it, it was good, just annoyed that my ask was ignored). My second cocktail I explained it better and made sure I got that. It still came out wrong but whatever. We ordered a few apps, calamari, scallops, tuna tartare and onion soups. The scallops were cooked perfectly, the tuna tartare was good but had a lot more avocado than tuna. Good flavor but portion of tuna was small especially for the price point. The calamari was also cooked appropriately and but rubbery. It came with two sauces, cocktail and an aioli of sorts. We were ready to order our entrees and this is where I get annoyed. I really wanted and was craving the coffee rubbed bison filet. As soon as I seen it on the menu I knew I wanted it. I ordered it to hear oh, yeah sorry we have been out of that for quite a while. (Rant:: if you know you are out tell the table, remove it from the menu if you are no longer having it, why wait until we've been there for over 1/2 hour and you've talked to us about specials and everything else) I had to quickly decide as I didn't want to hold up the table. In any event I ordered the filet and asked if they could do the rub on it. I will say it was cooked to perfection. My broccoli came to the table ice cold, she quickly fixed and had more sent out. Wildfire has a nice outdoor space to enjoy in good weather. Inside is a classic dark wood steak house vibe. We visited for a celebratory lunch. Our server was really great, informative, friendly, attentive. All the staff were busy, working hard, keeping things humming. The table ordered crab cakes, cornbread, steak and pork chops. All well prepared and presented. Everything tasted good, but we just prefer other places for these dishes. We will definitely return to try their other dishes and enjoy their hospitality. read more

I went to lunch with a friend and loved everything. The atmosphere, service and cuisine were perfection. When we walked in, the hostess remembered my friend from previous visits. I like that. My husband and family members went to the Wildfire in Glenview for Thanksgiving. I ordered a dirty martini and the waitress asked what kind of liquor I would like. I told her Bombay gin. I thought that it tasted funny, but didn't say anything. The host I was with ordered another for me. After that I lost all of my memory and had to be helped to the car and in my house. I went and had blood drawn, as I thought that someone put something in my drink. It turns out that they use ethyl alcohol which is like Everclear- moonshine. It had a horrible effect on me and still today I feel awful. I should of been told that they put that in to make it more potent. Never again read more

Outstanding! We went to Wildfire Glenview for dinner on Friday, August 27th and it was a truly amazing dining experience overall (and especially compared to their downtown location.) This location is so classy, safe, and enjoyable, plus we got to sit outdoors on their patio (even though it was very hot and humid). Our server Kevin R (shout out) was so professional, fun, and efficient, and the turn time for the food was just right. Drinks were cold and came out quickly and tasted great in the hot weather. All the food we had was excellent, we started with the bison meatballs, then kale salad, and finished with the Halibut and Jumbo coconut shrimp for entrees. I had the Halibut, and it was some of the best halibut I've ever had. It was fresh and crisp and flavored just right. Not sure about some of the other negative reviews, but this place was excellent (coming from a very discerning/picky diner), and I encourage you to go and enjoy your experience at Wildfire Glenview! read more

I usually love Wildfire. Last night was the exception. I had reservations for 2 for thanksgiving dinner at 8p. Drinks at the bar were great. Once seated at our table the meal started with my favorites deviled eggs, which were okay, and a crudités plate, which was delicious with GF ranch dressing. A salad to follow that seemed a little wilted. Then my turkey dinner came and it seemed like the last dregs of turkey scraps (there were no slices only little pieces) it wasn't hot and seemed like it had been sitting out for awhile. The stuffing was lukewarm and unappealing. I should have sent it back, but our waitress was so busy and by this point I didn't believe they had any turkey left (or why would they have served this?). It was so disappointing and below par for what I expect from Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants. Atmospheric Traditional American restaurant, definitely $$$ as for price. Applewood bacon wrapped scallops on skewer with apricot sauce-- very well salted, buttered, and seared; crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Some parts of the bacon is burnt, but some people might like that. The apricot sauce is great! Made with ginger, cilantro, and minced garlic. Definitely a bit asian flavor profile, reminds me of Thai food condiments. Wildfire Signature dish chopped salad-- a bit disappointed with this. The lime vinaigrette is light on the flavor for all the iceburg lettuce and everything else. The chicken is kind of bland and rather dry (lucky I had the apricot sauce to dip in). Blue cheese adds depth of flavor; the tortilla chips adds texture. Very little avocado was given, sad. I liked the addition or corn, but it wasn't a lot. I think I would still prefer Portillo's/Bartnelli's chopped salad. Steakhouse salad-- we substituted out of the blue cheese dressing for lime vinaigrette because hubby can't have dairy, so I might not be able to give an accurate review on this. However, steak was good. We weren't asked how the steak would be cooked, but I think it came out medium or medium-well. Which was fine. Rest of the salad was unremarkable, but the quality was good, veggies were fresh. Portion is slightly smaller than the chopped salad. Bread basket-- their cornbread was really good. Moist but also flavorful, not too sweet, and has actual corn in it, which adds to the texture. Other breads were pretty good too, see pictures. Coconut porter-- we wanted to try this.
