Depending on your teacher, this place rocks. I was so lucky to get some amazing instructors. For little ones, Kyle, quarky- is amazingly patient and fun!!! Laurie is also fun and patient. As you get a bit older, no one beats Coach Jen!!! She instructs regular classes as well as team. We wouldn't go without her. Some males are also great- Perris can be harsh for some, but others like him. There is a man named Kyle (reminds us of Simmons) and is awesome!!! You may need to try a few to find the one that fits your child, but overall, we have come here over a 7 year duration and love it. read more

The attitude of the staff when you call is unbelievable, and they don't seem to have the same message or information they give out either. I dread calling to ask questions because it feels like I am bothering them, and they treat me as if I'm interrupting. Is there someone else I should call with general questions about the business???? We pulled out of this gym because we noticed that our daughter (4.5 at the time) wasn't being instructed during her class. Her teachers regularly talked to each other (during class) and just let her and her class mates go. We talked to someone about it and it still continued. It was sad because we really liked her instructors. Maybe this gym is better for the older kids and it's a little lax on the younger, which is common in many programs. But unfortunately for the price we were paying for her to have lessons and get instruction on gymnastics, this was not happening. Whelp- we went back again. NOT any better maybe even worse than before. This time our youngest daughter attended class and she is a bit on the ornery side which is never easy to try to manage. However, no one even tried to manage her except me of course. The teacher seems disinterested in teaching the class and spoke in such a soft tone that the toddlers lost interest in her as soon as her first direction was given. Also, while we were there I heard another employee tell our instructor that something had happened to our instructors child while the child was at school. Well, instead of offering to take over the class for her she told her to get through her class and call once it was over. Talk about utter torture for a mother to endure! So, she began to rush our kids through the last few minutes of class. It was so awful I picked up our toddler and left before class ended. I couldn't stand to be a part of such a horrendous display of non professionalism. You will NOT see updates from me re: further classes at this establishment. I'm out! read more

This place absolutely sucks. Staff are rude had a trial class and barely did anything except for some sprints. The place smells like wet gym socks. My coach made an excuse that she is "under the weather" so she was rude. I don't know how people learn there. This place is horrible and I don't recommend it. read more

I took my 57 month old daughter here the other day and she was treated amazingly! I would recommend coach Emily but be warned, she thinks she's super funny when her jokes are just mediocre. However, I would recommend coach ella, I heard that she once taught a kid a double layout with only two private lessons! read more

Wildfire Gymnastics - Fitness & Instruction Near Me - Tustin, California

This is a review based on one visit to Wildfire Gymnastics for a 5 year old's birthday party, so if you are looking for a gymnastics program for your son or daughter, my review may not be so helpful. Wildfire is in an industrial area of Tustin. It is housed in a large warehouse type building. I was expecting something along the lines of a Little Gym or My Gym. I was surprised when I walked into the gym are because this is a full on gymnastics training operation. There were balance beams, parallel bars, trampolines, a big floor area, and all kinds of mats. They even have a couple foam pits. The kids really congregated in the foam pits. One was next to a trampoline so the kids could bounce off the trampoline into the pit. The kids could also roll around and toss the foam blocks at one another. The staff did a nice job of keeping the kids engaged. The male staff person really played with the kids and kept the adults entertained with a short parallel bar routine - impressive. Pizza was served, and the staff took care of clean up. I am not sure whether Wildfire is open for parties to anyone or if you have to be a member. The only bad thing is that this place needs some air freshener. It smells like feet. read more

My daughter has been doing gymnastics here since she was 3 1/2 yrs old. She is now on their competitive team and absolutely loves it. In fact all of my kids have enrolled in classes here at some point. The staff is great with the kids, working on strength and flexibility in a safe, fun environment. The class ratios are always managable and the kids have a blast learning new skills. As far as the team goes, they are the best. My daughter trains 9 hrs per week here and loves every minute of it. The coaches are super supportive and very encouraging. They push them hard and expect results but never too hard or too fast. This is her second year on the team and the team spirit is great. She has made some great friends. The coaches spoil them and even have a team camp out in the summer which is a highlight for all the girls. If you are looking for creative birthday parties, Wildfire is your answer. We have had birthday parties here and been to friend's parties as well. Everytime we go, the kids are exhaused from fun. The kids start with free play on the floor. Then the move to organized games. There are at least 2 staff members ensuring that everyone is having a fun, safe experience. Then the kids move upstairs to the party area where you can bring in your own food/drink/cake. The staff continues to help and serve. Then, it is back to the floor for more free time and games. Finish it up with a game of Hide-go-Seek and you have some happy kids. Wildfire is a great place for kids of all ages. Whether you are looking for classes, birthday parties or team competition Wildfire should be your top choice. read more

Our 5 year-old is taking a class. She loves it, and her coach, Elena, is very good with all the kids. The faculty is huge, in an industrial park. There are many different training areas, so a number of different groups can practice without getting in one another's way. Though our daughter is in a beginner's class, this is a professional level facility, so that someone with Olympic aspirations could train. (I haven't seen rings, though.) Our daughter went to a kids gymnastics place before, and that was completely different. It was not designed to train kids so much as to entertain them. Here, at Wildfire, while the kids do have fun, the coaches clearly have a gymnastics past and are focused on imparting, little by little, true gymnastics skills. Interestingly, the classes are smaller here and less expensive, too. There is a good mix of boys in girls in the class. Overall, we are very pleased with the classes and the attention and professionalism of the coaches. read more

This is a completely biased review, and you should avoid it if you are looking for fodder for negative comments. My daughter attends Wildfire as a competitive gymnast. We came here from another gym of the same caliber. In the years we have been here, I have watched my gymnast grow not only in her skill, but confidence and self esteem have sky rocketed. She absolutely loves her coaches, and I feel the feeling is mutual. The relationships between coaches and athlete is a very important one, and the staff here not only understand it, but make sure it is at the best level possible. I believe this to be one of the biggest consideration when choosing a gym. The relationship between gymnast is another consideration. I have been here numerous times when newcomers arrive to review the facilities and test out the program. These team mates are so welcoming to these newcomers, by their third visit they have more phone numbers and text messages than they can handle (because that is what girls do). Gymnast here have "big sisters" that leave notes and gifts of encouragement in their "little sisters" lockers. They sometimes remind them if they are having difficulty with a skill that it happen to them as well. All this to make your gymnast feel like her best is always attainable. Now for the facilities, the gym lobby area was recently remodeled, and the smell gone. A new state of the art gym is being built and if all plans come to fruition it will be "where every gymnast wants to practice". The Tustin location will remain as well. Safety is always the staff's concern and they go out of their way to make sure your athlete is safe. I would go in to all the equipment they are going to incorporate into this facility, but feel like this sums it up: "Go for the training... Stay for people" read more

I take one of the children I watch here on Fridays for her evening gymnastics class. They have recently remodeled their whole first floor and switched over to wood flooring which makes the place look a little bit nicer. Wildfire is held at a building that looks very much like a warehouse. It is pretty spacious inside. The whole second floor of the building is for parents to sit and watch their children, there is an unlimited amount of chairs to sit in and a few tables in the back. Before they did all the remodeling this place used to smell really bad. It wasn't unbearable but it definitely wasn't pleasant. The smell has since subsided now (thank god). I've never spoke to any of the coaches here directly but most of them all look to be in their early to mid twenties. They are all very nice though and will also accompany your children individually to help them look for their parents! read more

When we started our class my daughter was just going to turn 4. It was great, then I realized one of the coaches had it out for my her. I fluffed it off as I didn't want to be "that" mom, until another incident happened when my daughter asked what she was needed to do next and the coach responded with "think for yourself, look at your surroundings" I immediately went to the office and switched classes. I did not hear an apology or anything from this coach. That coach was still doing warm ups with my daughters class but didn't seem to have much of an issue even though I highly disliked this coach. Then the straw that broke the camels back was when this coach about was very vocal to a mom of a TWO YEAR OLD boy that he didn't earn stamps because he wasn't listening and how the class wasn't good for him. I was baffled that I was able to hear the conversation and the mom and child left in tears. I then decided to call the office to let them know what had happened and I was rushed off the phone and was told they already knew about the incident. I do not think it was professional nor appropriate of what had happened and I should have been reassured that this coach had been taken care of, however none of this happened. I will never be a part of this gym again for them to condone that behavior of their staff to the kids. This is not a competition gym and it's all for fun. On a side note coach Elena and coach Jen are fantastic. I wish this would not have happened as my daughter loved these two coaches!! read more

We have been coming to Wildfire for 7 years and mostly we love it. The training is consistent, safe and well organized. It is actually amazing, because it is so incredibly packed and crowded ALL of the time. At first, this really concerned me (safety), but really each coach is on it with the kids. None of my kids are going to be pro gymnasts and that is the perspective my review is coming from. (My 3rd child was asked to do team a few years ago, but declined, and the others have not been asked). All four of my children have come here from time to time. My youngest two (9 and 4) are currently still attending. They really enjoy it. We have done Parent Night Out (open gym, pizza, movie) a few times and the kids love it and have fun. I think the price is very reasonable. My youngest did a week of half-day summer camp last year and it was okay for her. She didn't cry to come home, but she also didn't beg do go back. We love the annual trophies that I feel are deserved for consistency and progress. We also have had one party there and attended a few others. It is a great deal and everyone has a ton of fun. You can also request your favorite coaches in advance. Super awesome! The only (slight) negative inside the gym is that make-ups can be confusing and difficult to get. Outside the gym, OMG THE PARKING IS A NIGHTMARE. I'm not kidding. This could be the worst parking in Orange County. I feel like I'm in LA again when I come here. I guess it is a testament to Wildfire's popularity, but GEEZE someone needs to do something about it. If they did, they would have all 5 stars from me. This review is based on a four-week class offered through Irvine Community for children ages 18 months to 3 years. I think my 19-month old son was too young for this class. He loved jumping on the trampoline and into the foam pit, but he wanted to run around the entire gym and it's not totally safe for toddlers because there is actual gymnastic equipment everywhere and it's not really designed to corral little ones into one area. Also, I feel there is a big distinction between the development of an 18-month old and that of a 3-year-old. The older kids got more recognition because they could follow the instructions better. It would have been better if there were other kids closer to my son's age. However, if I'm just basing my review on the facility and staff, I would give them five stars. I thought the facility was large, clean and had a good variety of gymnastics equipment. The coach was fun and very patient. She handed out stamps and stickers at the end of every class. Overall, my son did enjoy the class, but I think I will take him here when he is a little older. read more

We celebrated our daughter's birthday party here. We ordered pizza and brought in our own snacks, fruits, vegetable platter, beverages and desserts. The two girls that were there helped us so much and made us feel so comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and we will do it again. Wildfire has been great for my little gymnast - aC. Yes, it's sort of smelly - that's because it's a real gym with sweaty teenage girls who are working their tails off to compete at high levels and to earn college scholarships. aC has been attending Wildfire for three years and has learned a tremendous amount over that time. As she has grown from a pre-schooler to an elementary school kid, she has become stronger, more flexible, and more able to do "tricks" on the bar, beam, etc. Most importantly, she's gained confidence and has a blast. Her coaches have the right level of sensitivity to little kids and discipline. aC isn't going to get a scholarship or go to the Olympics, but Wildfire has been a great experience for yer. We've also attended a birthday party for one of aC's friends here and all the kids had a blast. For comparison sake, we've been to Team OC for weeklong gymanstic/cheer camps in the summer, and while the Team OC facilities have theather seating and better ventilation, the experience at Wildfire makes up for the older setting (and the recent renovations, which opened up the ground floor have made things a lot better for the kids and parents at pickup and drop off). read more

How I wanted to like and try this place. At the initial phone call, the receptionist was very rude and not accommodating. I don't know if I'll give this place another try in the future, but first I impressions definitely last. And if they are not nice in answering the phone and helping new parents, then I also wonder how they will treat my kids in the class. read more

I can't say enough about this place. My daughter has gone there since she was 3 and is now turning 7 this month. I have always loved and appreciated the hard work of the coaches there!!! Today is no different! My daughter started girls academy yesterday and got hurt. She was crying and super upset and not only her coach but at least 4 other coaches came to assist her and make sure she is ok! I had a birthday party here for my daughter's 10th birthday on Sunday October 2nd. There were 16 kids in total. I was told there would be 2 coaches on site to supervise the children. The kids were allowed in the gymnastics area on time at 3 PM. At 3:40 PM there was still only one supervisor on the floor. I went to the office and asked if anyone else was going to come out and supervise as I thought the kids were getting little to no direction on all the equipment. The lady in the office on the phone seemed to be on a personal call and I asked her if she could come out and help since that is what I paid for. She showed up about 10 minutes later almost one hour into the party time. The kids were having free play for about an hour and then the coaches said they would play some games. They sat in a circle and sang happy birthday and then they selected one child to count while the others were playing hide and go seek. My daughter was not happy. Who wants to play hide and go seek in a gym and frankly I don't want to pay $19 per child for them to go play hide and go seek. Then they changed to play dodgeball. Also not what we signed up for. We then asked to have more free play. During free play the coaches stood around and were not watching the children and gave them no direction. At 4:30 my daughter was thrown off the a trampoline because another child jumped on the trampoline even though they were told to only have one person at a time on the trampoline. The coaches were not enforcing the safety rules at all. When my child came to me crying because she hurt her arm. I told the coach what happened and she still had her back towards the trampoline. In the meantime there were 3 kids on the trampoline and I told her to go enforce the rules of one child at a time, because the trampoline is small and as soon as someone else jumps on, the person on the trampoline gets thrown off. They didn't seem that interested. The lack of supervision was awful during the party. My daughter wound up with a BROKEN HAND. I then had the "pleasure" of talking to the Director (who was not present at the party and did not witness anything) after a few days who made absolutely no apology but instead nothing but excuses. The way my child's broken arm and the entire party has been managed, is appalling. If you want a party that is safe and supervised and were the coaches play decent games I suggest you book another venue. Horrible Customer Service!!! Please take a look at all my yelp reviews. I am not a complainer. I give more praise and 5 star reviews than anyone else, but this has been the worst experience ever. Wildfire Gymnastics is a top notch training center for gymnastics. It is a nice size gym, clean, and well managed. My niece (8) and nephew(6) have been going there for almost a year now and they absolutely LOVE it!!! The class ratios are managable for the coaches and the kids learn so much. My niece and nephew have had several coaches (because they have moved up in class level), and each coach they have had has been very encouraging and fun. Their competitive teams are very successful as well. So no matter what you're looking for, whether it be a place for your kids to just come enjoy exercising, or whether you are looking for a competitive future in gymnastics, this is the place you want to be. I find it funny that someone would say ewwww, it smells. I was a competitve gymnast myself and have never set foot in a gym that didn't smell. What do you expect? There are hundreds of kids coming in every day sweating. Wildfire does everything they can to improve this by putting air fresheners all throughout the gym. Oh, one more thing... if you ever just want to have a night out, they have parent night outs every other Friday night where you can drop your kids off for four hours of playing in the gym fun while you go out and enjoy some alone time. read more

We came for our first class and waited at the front desk in front of a staff member who was on the phone and even when she got off the phone she didn't engage us for 15 minutes. Another parent and child came and was served by another floating staff member who was walking through at that time. I approached that staff member when she was done and she said we were now checked in and began to leave. I told her we had no idea where we were supposed to go to start the class and had not even take a tour yet. She quickly shuffled us to the place the next class lines up and pointed up to the parent seating area and then hurried off. What these staff members never took the time to find out is that I was a competitive gymnast for 12 years so I wasn't looking for a daycare for my daughter for a couple hours. I am looking for teachers who know what they are doing. So next I left my daughter in line with the rest of her classmates and a couple other new girls to the class and went upstairs to watch. The teachers came and took them out for some aerobics and stretching to warm up. Then the 6 new girls were split into their own group and one young female instructor in her early 20s took them to begin tumbling. Now my 8 year old had no prior experience so she was flopping on her back and not being spotted or corrected. The teacher had them in two line doing this so she couldn't spot everyone and honestly stood there watching most the time, sometimes chatting it up with other instructors who were walking by. Then there was a point when she had them doing back bends and WASN'T spotting them. These poor first timers were flopping back and at that point I took off my shoes and walked out to the matt and told my daughter that she is not to do anything else in this class unless the teacher is spotting her to avoid a neck injury. My daughter replied, that the teacher told her to and I reiterated that the teacher must not know how new she was to tumbling and then looked at the young girl teaching who had overheard us but didn't come to talk about it. I them went back to watching. When they reached the bars, the teacher had them all take turns on 3 bars. My daughter's first time and she had her holding the bar on her stomach with bent arms, not her lower abdomen/hips with straight strong arms to hold herself in place and not hurt her stomach Her hands were holding the bars backwards and the teacher wasn't correcting because she had 3 new girls on bars at once. Poorly organized, unsafe lack of spotting and the place was packed with groups of kids being moved all around this place. At the end of class the teacher pulled us aside to give us the sales pitch and I say that because when she was done with us, she didn't ask if we had questions or anything, said thank you and moved 2 feet to her right and said the exact same speech to the next family word for word, and again to the next family while we all stood in ear shot. It was not personalized at all and we didn't get a chance to ask questions so we went to the front desk and they were swamped, but at least the lady that was on the phone earlier was helping people and my daughter handed her the toy coupon she was given to redeem. Afterwards instead of asking if we had any questions or how we liked it, the lady went straight for the sale, telling me, so do you want to reserve your spot in this class because if you don't it could be gone next time you contact us. I said, that's ok, we will think about it. and she said ok and went to the next customer. This place gave me the impression of a money making machine, not a place where the instructors care, just turning out kid's classes as quickly as they can. I looked to recent awards and couldn't find any championship banners newer than 2011. and a plaque for 2nd place for 2012. Was not impressed to say the least. read more

All the coaches at wildfire are very funny and good with kids, but that's the only good thing I can find about this place. I went to wildfire for 8 years, and I could barely do a round off correctly. You may say that maybe I just wasn't trying, but when I switched gyms I learden more in 1 month than I did in 8 years at wildfire. The classes at wildfire are very over crowded and no one gets any individual attention. Another thing I don't particularly like about this gym, is the fact that 90% of the kids are there to socialize and not to learn. If you want your child to just get a little bit of exercise every now and again, then wildfire is the place for you. But if you want actually get good at gymnastics or tumbling, I recommend any place with the exception of wildfire read more

We switched to Wildfire from Team OC. While I will say The Team OC facility is nicer (probably because it's newer), the instruction we receive at Wildfire is way beyond that of Team OC. (Team OC is good, but I feel there was no growth). At Wildfire, there is a curriculum they follow and do periodic assessments of each child's ability and growth. My daughter has learned many new skills since switching to Wildfire and I have noticed Wildfire is very particular about learning to do things properly to avoid injury. I could not speak highly enough of the instructors here. They are genuine and extremely nice, with the exception of 2 (who I will leave nameless and just take the concern up with the front office). Other than those 2 employees, we have had wonderful interaction with every other coach. My two girls love going here. My only negative comment: It does have a little bit of a smell, but you are in a gymnasium with tons of sweaty kids. read more

My son loves loves loves coach Kyle! She is really good at skill building and confidence building with the little ones. She has a wonderful way to guide the kids and I don't think I've ever heard her say "no"(as in they are doing it incorrectly) to the kids in her group. She is so fun with the kids and seems to enjoy her profession. After doing the mommy and me class, my son was ready to move to the next class and he was placed with a different coach for one week and he kept asking for her class. We changed his schedule to make sure coach Kyle was his coach. If I could give her 10 stars I would. Besides her, the facility is clean and the other staff is fine- it can be a bit chaotic with so many kids coming and going, but coach Kyle is the gem of wildfire. read more

Came here for a birthday party and LOVED it. I would give this place a 5 star for the spaciousness and the variety of equipments. The staff are also all very nice. However, when it comes to cleanliness, I'd give this place a 2 star. It didn't smell very nice and they required all the kids to take off their socks. I don't mind the no socks policy but the staff all wore tennis (outdoor) shoes while being in the gym area. That is not sanitary and they should keep it consistent. Other than that it's a great place so I averaged it and am giving it a 3 star. read more

We've been here for 2 kids' birthday parties!! What a fun and easy way to host a party. This place in GINORMOUS and the kids just run around and have SO MUCH fun!! The instruction is based on the athletic capability of the guests. Both times, the parties were for my kids' friends from dance, so they are all bendy and agile. So cool!! They got to work on a lot of acrobatic tricks like aerials, etc. There's a loft upstairs where the food is set up. I think that you have to go with their caterer, but who doesn't love pizza, chicken wings, and caear salad?? read more

My little girls (ages 3 & 5) love it here. Their class sizes are fairly small (5-7 kids) but I don't feel like they get a ton of individual instruction. Plus they spend 15-20 minutes just warming up (classes are 60 minutes long). Everyone is really nice, though, and this would be a great place to have a birthday party. read more
