Tried Wildfire in Modesto for date night with my hubby and it was... a mix. We went in expecting more of a dinner-date vibe, but the game was on LOUD, giving strong sports bar energy. If you're there for the game, perfect. If you're there to talk, maybe not so much. Getting seated took a bit, and when we asked for a booth we were taken to a table instead. We asked again and were told there were no booths available, even though we could clearly see a few open ones, which was a little frustrating. My family and I had a wonderful time when we went for the first time last week. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was classy and beautiful, especially the patio area. This place is AMAZING! Fast service, kid friendly. Every time I crave rack of lamb this is the first place I think of! Their cook on the lamb and ribeye we always order (med rare) is spot on. This review is regarding our visit on Fathers Day Sunday which also happened to be my 45th birthday. I arrived around 2pm with a party of 6. We were told it would be around a 1 hr and 45 minute wait which normally would have turned us away but I specifically ended up choosing this restaurant to celebrate my birthday out of 4 other restaurants I was considering going to. And plus I knew a lot of restaurants would be busy too because of it being Fathers Day. Anyway , one thing that I would recommend for the staff that work the front entrance is to offer people to sit at the bar area or the outside patio area while they are waiting instead of saying it's going to be a long wait and continue having conversations about things not having to do with work with their coworkers. It just felt very standoffish and not welcoming . I felt more like I was being told of such a long to turn me away instead of appreciating the fact I chose to eat here . Despite that, I told my husband let's just sit at the bar area while we wait which like I said wasn't offered to us as a alternative. Karina was very nice and attentive to us she has helped us in the past with our drinks and at one of our visits not only was our bartender but also took our food order. She's always had a good attitude and always smiling and strikes up conversations with us. Kudos to her . Also at this visit while she was cashing out for the day she informed us that someone else would be taking over for her and we were in good hands just thought that was very thoughtful of her . We ended up waiting about a hour at the bar area before another very friendly staff member Selena came over and seated us . Between Karina and Selena they totally turned around what started out to be not a so good visit . Selena was so nice and always had a smile on her face she even brought me out a special dessert for my birthday . So thank you guys again . And thank you Michael for taking my call earlier and listening to my concerns and recommendations for the front desk staff . I took my wife there for our anniversary dinner. I did not tell wait staff that it was our anniversary, but it did not matter. They were pleasant and helpful. The food wasn't as pricey as some other places we've eaten at. I would say middle of the road prices. We were pleasantly surprised with the food. I ordered a medium cooked ribeye and it was perfect. Not one bite of gristle. My wife had the braised short rib with cheddar mash and she loved it. We both added a side of shrimp which were delicious and reasonably sized. The place is nice and clean. Our waiter tonight was Robin. He did a fantastic job serving us tonight. It was me, my wife, and my brother in Christ named Michael. It was Michael's first time there so Robin suggested some great appetizers and entrees for him. Appetizers were: Giant Pretzel and Robin's suggestion of Seared Scallops. Wow! Those Seared Scallops were fabulous! The Giant Pretzel is always a winner too! Michael and I had the filet mignon dinner while the wife had the ribeye dinner. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The demi-glaze on the filets really took them over the top! Best filet I've had in years! My sides were aparagus and the filet was served on a bed of mushroom rissotto. I believe that they blanch the asparagus because the spears were firm and not soggy like when you boil them. I always prefer blanched. The mushroom rissotto is a great pairing and tasted wonderful! Robin was quick when I asked him for some mayo to top my asparagus with. The food was perfection tonight for all 3 of us. Thanks again to Robin for all his suggestions and answering all our questions. He made this not just a dinner but an amazing culinary experience! We will be back soon! He was efficient, attentive, and made sure our order was perfect despite the modifications I requested. He checked in at the right times and provided top-tier customer service. You can tell the staff is experienced and genuinely cares about creating a great dining experience. If you're not sure what to order, I highly recommend the Chicken Piccata, the Halibut, or the Asian Salad with all the toppings. Honestly, all are incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. And you should not ask your customers to pass down the waters our Just bring them a little bit at a time. Serve your people come back and bring the rest when you have a big party. You should pre bus your table once the appetizers are done with instead of letting the customer ask the server can she pre-bust because food came out which she served two plates at a time to a party of 16 which made two of my plates go back cause they were cold by the time they hit the table. Michael, just to let you know I love you very much you came out and handle and corrected the problem one by one on your own and I appreciate you this will not stop me from coming.back - I'm going to return. I've been here many times with my best friend and her son and we have a great time everytime and he loves it! They have lots and lots of food options and some crayons and a kids menu for him which is nice! I usually like their shrimp penne or their chicken caeser salad but my best friend SWEARS on their chicken tender basket! I don't usually drink but I have here before and they have some delicious fruity drinks and yummy desserts! The service is always above and beyond! There was one time my friend wasn't sure if there was something in her meal that could have gotten her an allergic reaction and when we mentioned it the owner the server just about everyone was ON IT it ended up being fine and she felt fine it was just a scare/question but wow they were so sweet and caring. They're always just so nice every single time! Their atmosphere is casual by day and boujee by night! It gets very dark and it turns a bit more intimate, more drinks, more adult like if you will.
