A large group of us came here for a holiday get together. First off, I will say the service was superb because they were very accommodating. Everything we ordered was at our table and cleared in a timely manner. We were even able to do our secret Santa exchange and the waitress so kind to give us a little extra time to do so. Now for the food - we shared a few appetizers. The chicken wings and asparagus were great! For my entree I ordered 1/2 soup and 1/2 sandwich. The harissa soup was yummy. It was like a chili and had a little spice to it. My ahi sandwich was ok. Not my favorite, but the other entrees on the table looked delicious: the short rib, pasta, and pizza. For dessert we had the butter cake and that was soooo delicious! Everyone left happy and full. I'd definitely come back again to try some other items on the menu. Our group of five decided to give WPH another try since our previous visits were varied. We had reservations and had requested the round table for better conversation flow. We arrived and were immediately seated. The hostess was welcoming and professional. Our server greeted us and took our beverage orders: water, 2 pinot noir, 1 sauvignon blanc and an IP. We then visited and discussed entree choices. When she returned we began our order: a Wildfire burger, the ribeye cooked rare, the beef shortribs and two orders of the mushroom chicken risotto. Even though there were a fair amount of diners, our orders came in a proper amount of time. Everyone was happy with their choice, good food! When finished with our entrees, we opted to order a brown butter cake topped with ice cream with FIVE spoons. A bite is plenty since it is very indulgent. As for the fillet mignon....well let's just say I have had a better filet mignon at Sizzler. They shouldn't be aloud to call what they served me a mignon.....my dog was very happy though!! What a beautiful restaurant on the inside. Very clean and lots of seating because the restaurant is huge on the inside. There was a wonderful drink menu to choose from. Also a large variety of entrées and appetizers. Some of the best wait staff I have seen and experienced in a while. Let's start off with the flaming margarita that was very delightful and unexpected. Next was the asparagus spears they came out almost 3 minutes after we put the order in . I could not believe how fast pot fresh that these came directly out of the kitchen. Boy you're in for a treat. They were quite tasty. Next was the chicken Kabasa that had a very nice delicate lemon of buttery sauce that was on top of a bed mashed potatoes laid out with some very nicely steamed broccoli. The crème brûlée was so creamy with the perfect glaze on the top: The meal was completely satisfying and was not heavy. I walked away full, and also walked away feeling like I ate a healthier meal. There was a live singer, who was very good. It was just a little loud for my personal preference but we will ask to be sat in a booth in the back next time. The portion was generous that we had some leftover for a meal next day. The truffle gnocchi was of good texture and flavor but wished a little more of the truffle aroma and taste. I've tasted better truffle gnocchi elsewhere. The wait staff was attentive and courteous. Went there on a Friday evening for dinner and drinks with my family. We had a large group of 14 and had made reservations earlier that day. The whole process was easy and it didn't take too long to get us seated once we arrived. The service was great. The waitress we had was very attentive, friendly and helpful. She even told us about their secret menu (carne asada fries). I ordered the WFPH Cobb salad and substituted a few things due to allergies and they were very accommodating. The salad was tasty. Also ordered by the rest of the guests were a pretzel, chicken wings, pizza, and Asian chicken salad. Everyone agreed the food was delicious. I will be going back the next time I'm in Modesto.
